  1. Thenford's ''The Tour'' does not visit Black Rocks which then suggests you want to do a full circle tour of St. Kitts.

The full island tour which you can pay USD 20 per person at the port is a tour of the City with stops at Romney/Caribelle - 30 mins, Brimstone Fortress - 45 mins ( you pay your own entrance fee of USD 8 (adult price) and stop at Black Rocks and scenic drive around the island.

To go to the beach would be an extra charge on top; -

Frigate Bay - for 1 -4 persons roundtrip is USD 24

South Friar's as above round trip is USD 32

Cocklelshell round trip is USD 56

Just make sure you tell the taxi dispatcher you want to do all the stops on the island tour and they will put you in a taxi with others who want to do the same thing. Not everyone wants to visit Brimstone Fortress.

Most tour operators can customize a tour for you but the fee will be much higher.

  2. I have seen Beulah many times on Port Zante and she is energetic and knows how to work the crowd. She lives on the island all year round ( not with her mother) but has a nice, large house at Half Moon Bay/ Frigate Bay and travels back to the UK for the summer break. I did consider Beulah/Welcome Tours based on her reviews for a custom tour for a large group but that did not materialize as I found out as a tour company/Welcome Tours does not carry liability insurance ( not referring to the taxi driver vehicle that has to be insured like any other transport on the road) and for me personally that is a no no. We did settle with another tour operator that was fully insured. However, I wish Beulah continued success.

  3. Do you know the cost of that excursion? I saw that when I was googling for ideas, but they don't list a price! Also, do you know if that excursion starts at the cruise terminal? Or would we have to pay extra money for a taxi to get to the start point?

St. Kitts Stand UP Paddle Board listed on RCCl - as KTA1 is priced at USD 79 for adult and child. Tour duration - 3 hours. The excursion starts at the cruise terminal. This is a new excursion and currently only RCCL is offering it.

White House Bay is a secluded stone beach over the peninsula and has really good snorkelling.

  4. Where did you get information about this? I don't see anything on their website, and I emailed them almost a month ago with no response. We'd really like to schedule a tour for our cruise in December. Thanks for any more info you can give!

That information came directly from the Plant Manager, Mr. Maynard just recently. I have not seen their website. Will try and find out which agents (local/international) are marketing the tour. I seem to recall Port Promotions is one of them. Will check it out.

  5. I just had my buddy (who owns a drive thru) order me a case of it. Can't wait.

I thought the main brewery is located in Trinidad-Tobago?

There are 2 of them. One in t. Kitts and the other in Trinidad. St. Kitts has dark beer bottles and Trinidad has the clear see-thru ones. The Carib made in Trinidad is also the ones they export. However, there has been times when the Brewery in Trinidad had problems then St. Kitts had to step in to help them out. I have drunk them both and much prefer hands down the Carib made in St. Kitts.

  6. As from October 2012, the Carib Brewery will be open for tours from Monday to Friday 10 am - 3 pm. The entrance fee is USD 15 per person which includes 1 - 2 complimentary drinks of your choice after the guided tour which takes about 40 mins. Age limit 18+, any exceptions will have to have the Plant Manager's permission. It is preferable, but not necessary that tours are scheduled. Group limit - 10 persons per guide. No pictures can be taken inside the Brewery. Visitor passes will be issued at the gate. Hair nets and ear plugs will be issued.

They have tour agents who will also be marketing the tour for them and also some of the cruise lines are interested.

  7. PCG is approx. a 15 min easy walk from Port Zante or 16 US return for 4. It is 24US return for 4 to Frigate Bay. Usually the taxi driver drops you at the Timothy Beach end of Frigate Bay. It is the least crowded and is the nearest to the port. It is not as popular as South Friar's or Cockelshell with the taxi drivers but it is still a good beach.

  8. It is a fancy restaurant on the beach. You can take a cab straight from the port. Taxi far based on a 1-4 basis - US16 one way, 32 round trip. No long distances and even flooring.

You can rent chairs and umbrellas but not committed to buying food/drink. Hefty bill - as a family of 5 we have spent quite a few afternoons there and with food and drink it does add up, but the pros make it worthwhile as the restrooms are top notch, no hassle from beach vendors, service is attentive, the beach is clean and the food is fresh.

A day pass to the Marriot is US35. However - when the Marriot is full they do not issue day passes and currently it is 99% full. Some visitors do take a chance and just walk in as if they are guest and blend in.

  9. Carambola opens at 9.00am (local time).

Depends on how many ships are in port but a good idea to get there earlier in order to secure a chair.

Not too sure about whether they rent snorkel equipment but Shipwreck at the other end rents snorkel gear for US$10 per hour.

Make sure you bring your credit card as the bill can get hefty.

    Have a great time.
