So sat down this past weekend and found two sky suites that we were planning to book today for us and our friends. I watched some Apex YouTube videos last night to get excited about the trip and then boom, hit in the face with Celebrity’s sky suite changes. This was going to be our first Celebrity cruise but I am now going to recommend to our group that we move on to another cruise line. We wanted to have a butler experience and the extras that’s came with the sky suite that appear to be cut now. I also feel like this was done so sneaky too, it’s left us with a very bad impression of the company. I just can’t explain how disappointed we are.

Guests have had some success with this. Cancel immediately upon boarding and re-book a new reservation. Your previously paid charge on credit card is going to be refunded as Refundable OBC and not back to your credit card.
Yikes, I wish that could be a little easier. I appreciate you response.

Can you book and pay for specialty dining with a cc prior to departure and have it switched to obc once onboard?

When the call you to set up the 360 dinner they will ask you what date and sitting you would like. There are 2 sittings of 20 people per day
Thank you so much!

So much good info, thank you so much. I was told by my travel agent that suite guests automatically get the 360 restaurant, this has made me hesitant to book any other restaurants because I don’t want to screw that up. I guess I will try to go ahead and book Sabatini's and Crown Grill just to be safe and then discuss with the concierge once on board. This is a big anniversary trip so going all out. Any tips on how to get on the chef’s table list?

Then you will have a concierge lounge there will be info in your cabin to give their phone number and you will have a card that allows you to access the lounge
Just to make sure I understand, I do not have to make any reservations for specialty dining prior to embarkment because the concierge will do that onboard? Does the concierge book sanctuary reservations at well?

Discovery Princess. Sorry, I should have included that.

First time doing a vista suite on any Princess ship. We have previous suite experience on RC where we had all our specialty dining and bookings taken care of once we went to the suite lounge onboard on the first day. How does Princess handle specialty dining and even booking a sanctuary day? I admit, switching cruise lines has me feeling like a fish out of water. 😉
Any suite advice would be greatly appreciated.

Which side of the ship is smoking? Trying to avoid smoke smell. Sorry if this is a redundant question.

Does anyone know the cost of the improvements to the island? It’’s really well done and we were blown away by the food, best and cleanest food area we have ever had on an island. This must have cost a fortune.
Just curious if someone happened to know.

Just beware you cannot pre-book any dinners with the package, you can only book once on board. I made the mistake of getting all excited and buying it only to have to cancel because I can't have any guarantee we could get the times and restaurants we want. I'd rather just pay more and have my bookings locked down. Too bad because we are specialty dining lovers and would really have done well with the package.
I spend a lot of time prior to our cruises figuring out our dining and show schedules so I don’t have to bother with it onboard. The last thing I want is to have to rearrange my show options because I couldn’t get the dinner reservations I want. Plus, it’s annoying to have to run to one of the restaurants to try and make all the reservations and worry if my times are still available. I, too, just spent a few extra dollars and book the restaurant and times I want ahead of time. I am just one of those ppl that gets a lot of peace of mind knowing that when I step foot on that ship I don’t have to worry about a thing.

Just a quick update, my mother in law is being treated without surgery so we feel comfortable with him leaving this week. Thank goodness on both counts, even though substituting is possible I was imagining a host of issues that could have happened to complicate the process. Thank you all who gave me insight and advice.

Agree, we will know tomorrow after her appt and will make the decision then. That will give us 3 days to do all the switching if necessary.

You can change a passenger up to 24 hours before the cruise.
Thank you for your quick reply. That is what I found online also when I did a quick search but was afraid there might have been a policy change.

My husband’s mother just had a cancer diagnosis this week. Our cruise leaves this Sunday, but if surgery is needed immediately he will need to be here for her. We did not buy insurance (yes, that is our fault). Her first oncology appt is tomorrow and we will know the plan then but curious if anyone knows the policy of substituting another person for him, our daughter would be available to go in his place with me.
Thanks

If you don’t mind, I would enjoy seeing your Compasses for the week. We sail on Feb. 2nd!

Curious, did they offer you Coastal Kitchen once you got onboard? If so, how? I see no where to book it prior to boarding. We have a JS on the 2/2/19 sail date.

Thank you, that helps me know that it isn’t a computer glitch.

Has anyone seen the specialty dining packages sell out? We last minute booked a Symphony cruise for early February. We wanted to get the 3 or 4 day specialty dining package but there are none showing up. There is the ultimate dining package so I thought why not try that and see if it works, but the sight would not allow me. It will let me book one of us, but when I add us both it says unavailable. It does look like a mostly full ship so maybe they only sell so many packages, idk. Anyone else ever had this problem?
Thanks so much.

Depends. Is money an issue?
Yes, money is always part of the equation. The Allure deal I got was about $200 more per person for a 7 day cruise than the Vista for a 6 day itinerary. The Vista is one of the concert sailings (Jay Leno) so I don't know if that might have increased the price a little bit.
I like the Vista ports more (Ocho, Grand Cayman, Cozumel) verses Allure's (Labadee, Falmouth, Cozumel). But, I would like to try the big RC mega ships at some point too. This is one of those good problems. :)

Taking our adult kids (24-27 yrs) on a cruise and right now I have both the Vista and the Allure booked. I can't decide which would be more fun for that age group. Has anyone been on both of these ships and might share some insight with me? I am posting this on the Carnival page also.
Appreciate all your help!

The newer ships have been holding Muster in the lounges, dining rooms, and other open spaces so I would assume that Vista will be the same way.
Agree, our last two Breeze cruises were in the lounges and dining rooms. I would assume that Vista would follow what the other newer/bigger ships are doing as well.

T-28 days until the Vista Inaugural and T-21 until we head to Europe! We have spent a long time planning this trip and so happy it is almost here.

Do you happen to know if you can book online with cc then switch it to onboard credit when onboard?
