  1. I just booked two cabins for my family (2 kids, 2 adults) and my mom on Adventure next August 2024. Due to RC math, it was $600 cheaper to book 1 adult, 2 kids in a room and 2 adults in the other room, versus booking 4 and a single. I know I can move my name to the correct room once onboard, but I was just curious if it would cause a reprice if I tried to move beforehand.

Thank you for making that point. So many keep bringing up the safety factor as if everyone else is cowering at home. In reality, some will not cruise now because other health issues put them at risk, but most people are holding back simply because they don’t want to spend a lot of money for a diminished experience.

I have to wear a mask at work. Cruising with a mask isn’t even a minor inconvenience. I was happy to finally be on vacation after nearly 2 years. I shared this post to encourage other likeminded individuals that may be on the fence about cruising during these strange times. Please remain off the ships as long as these protocols are in place. Would hate for you to have a diminished experience!

I'm glad you had a great time and if I lived in Florida like you it would be a no brainer, but for me there is more to consider than just hopping in my car and driving to the ship.

Wish it was that simple, but it's not for us.

That would definitely change things for us too! Hope you’re sailing soon!

  4. I just returned from a lovely B2B sailing on Harmony. We have been on the cautious side of things throughout the pandemic and considered many times to cancel our vacation once again. We ended up going and had the most fantastic time. Honestly we felt safer onboard than we do going to the grocery store. The staff were wonderful. We really appreciated the reduced capacity in the shows (although the spacing seemed a little extreme in the Aqua theater) and I hope they continue serving food in the windjammer. I wear a mask at work all day so it was no big deal, much better wearing it on a cruise ship than at work anyway! We saw very few noncompliant guests and I noticed 100% of staff wearing their masks properly.

So if you have been hesitant, there really is no reason to be! Get your booster, washy washy, and have a great vacation! Happy to answer any specific questions 🙂

The last sentence on Page 13 and 1st sentence of page 14 may help.....it says ships that have been sailing in Non US waters that intend to now sail in US waters can choose to conduct modified simulated voyage procedures rather than a full simulated voyage.

Not sure how the procedures differ than an actual voyage but it certainly sounds like it would be less time consuming!

I hope that means harmony is good to sail!! We’re on 11/21 and 11/28 cruises. 🤞🏻

I hope your Son is okay.     Unfortunately, Doctor's notes are not accepted - only way to get on the ship is to test negative.

My DH had covid last February and was in hospital for a couple of days and tested negative 14 days later.      Hopefully noone else in your household tests positive so you can board your b2b sailing.

Thank you! He's doing much better today. I have to get tested 3 times over the next 10 days in order to work (healthcare) so fingers crossed I remain negative. My husband and I are both fully vaccinated and were planning on getting booster doses next week.

Carnival started double occupancy only for new bookings for a specific timeframe, but it doesn't make sense for Harmony to have triple and quad the week before and then switch to double only.

One thing that just occurred to me- perhaps they are trying to limit the number of people onboard for these two weeks? Maybe I was seeing it after someone canceled, before someone new booked. So they are capping staterooms to double occupancy.

  8. Interesting. We’re booked on the 11/21 as well! What is weird is that both my husband and I were looking separately at the mock bookings with 3 in the cabin earlier today, then all of a sudden it changed. For a minute I thought they must have tracked my C&A number because I had been on the site all day 😂

  9. I'm booked on Harmony in November with my husband and son in a balcony guarantee. I noticed today that prices dropped, so we decided to upgrade to a large oceanview balcony. I had done a few "mock" bookings with the 3 of us online and the price was about $400 more, no big deal. So I got on the phone to do the upgrade, and I went back and tried to do another mock booking, and all of a sudden, an error message popped up stating that there are no more cabins that can accomodate 3 guests. There were dozens of cabins available just moments before. The person on the phone noticed this too. When putting in 2 people, there are many, many cabins available that fit up to 4 people. He said he could get me into the cabin I wanted for $700 more, but for some reason new bookings were being limited to 2 people all of a sudden. What is happening? We were looking at doing this switch all day, and when we go to actually do it, we can't. RCCL glitch or new protocol changes to come?

  10. We are (hopefully) cruising on our first B2B on Harmony in November. My husband and I are fully vaccinated and we have a 4 year old who is not obviously. I'm assuming there are protocols in place for testing in this scenario, but nothing came up in search. Has anyone experienced this yet? Will we have to disembark, get tested off ship, then go through check in at pier? That would be incredibly inconvenient, but trying to make sure we have a plan in place if so.

    Thank you!

  11. We are planning on cruising with our 4yo, should our b2b actually sail on Harmony in November. As others have mentioned, we have mitigated the risks and feel cruising is safer than his school/work/grocery store. We will probably spend most of our time on our balcony and outside decks, boardwalk, central park, etc...I'm not sure how comfortable we are dining on the unvaxxed floor, so we will likely explore other options such as taking meals to go and specialty restaurant outdoor dining. We are both vaccinated, religiously mask, follow all cdc guidelines...when the vaccine is approved for <12 yo, he will be the first in line. I think there is a very fine line between being safe and living smartly with this thing, and being unnecessarily overcautious.

What are you thoughts about how the protocols will affect vaccinated parents with children too young for the vaccine? My husband and I are fully vaccinated, but our ten year old can’t get the vaccine yet. Will we have to sit with the unvaccinated population throughout the cruise? That’s a scary thought.

We are in the same boat (ha) with our almost 4 year old. I would NOT feel comfortable sitting in unvaccinated crowds (although we are both vaccinated), but I also can understand others not feeling comfortable having unvaccinated children around. It will be interesting to see how this is handled.
