  1. Do the restaurants in the port cities (PV, Mazatlan, Cabo) take USD?

I looked at a a couple of menus from some recommended restaurants and all prices are listed in pesos.
Is it recommended to exchange some dollars into pesos ?

  2. Oh goodness...where is this early saver link? I cant seem to find it or find out if I even booked with the early saver option. How would I find that?

    such a newbie LOL

The one way I check is in your Carnival booking confirmation there would be Early Saver information under Guest Notes.

As far as the form just google carnival price protection form and it will take you to the page.

    Hope this helps !

  3. We just arrived home from this cruise. We had a rear facing balcony and noticed only one "wake" from the rear of the boat after the missed port. After the delay leaving from Grand Turk I noticed are top speed was 22.6 knots which seemed fast to me but maybe it's normal. After the announcement, our top speed seemed to be 17 knots with one wake. The next day the captain made an announcement that his crew made progress and we would arrive on time in NY, then our speed increased to 19-20 knots with a small wake on the left side.

The delay from Grand Turk was due to a crew member death the evening before:(:(, RIP.

Overall it was a very nice cruise minus the news of the crew member. This was the best crew out of the 11 cruises we have been on.

Carnival applied a $50pp credit for the missed port which seemed fair. They also added more shows to the schedule.

My only complaint is it went by too fast!

P.S. if your thinking about a Havana room, do it! The crowd in the Havana area was small the whole time.

Thanks for giving us an update. It’s nice to hear from someone who was actually on board and experienced the situation first hand. I’m sailing on the Horizon in June 2019 and glad to hear you enjoyed the cruise.

  4. He will be fine. You will be sitting on a tube floating. No low clearance caves while floating.

Is there extensive swimming while cave tubing ? It doesn't look like it but wanted to check. There is 1 person in our group who is a very novice swimmer.

  5. It's been a while since we've cruised on Carnival. We are booked on the Dream March. 2018 and can't wait !

I've been reading so much about paying extra for FTTF.

A couple of questions on FTTF.. 1. From those of you who have purchased it would you say it is worth it ? 2. How do we purchase it for our cruise ? I did not see it when I booked.. maybe it is available as it gets closer to sail date?

  6. Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the Bottomless Bubbles (Soda/Juice) card on Carnival.

Will be traveling with 2 boys (ages 9 and 4) who love to drink juice and soda.

I am leaning towards purchasing it for them.

How much does a soda/juice cost per glass if purchased on it's own? I will need to do the cost/benefit analysis on it.

From what I understand the card is only on the actual soda/juice and the 15% gratuity will be added to the sail and sign, correct?

    Thanks!
