  1. It is possible to do an upgrade from Classic to Premium on the website. You can also upgrade WiFi. Login to your Celebrity account.  Select Upcoming Cruise and then Manage Reservation.  Scroll way down and select Drink Packages and you should see the packages. You should also see an upgrade option.  If you don't see the upgrade, look for a show all packages option. Sorry, I have already upgraded using these steps so I can't give the exact final step.

You will not receive the additional Captains Club discount online if there is no sale. You do have to call for that, but they will not combine that with a sale price. However, Celebrity has been heavily discounting beverage and WiFi upgrades with their flash sales. Watch for Black Friday if you don't cruise before then. We received 50% off our beverage upgrade a few months ago. A few final things. Don't be afraid to book the upgrade if you see 30% or 35% off. That's better than Captains Club discount and if you find it lower at a later date just cancel and rebook at the lower offer.  Lastly, this all applies to US residents only 95% of the time. Our UK, Australian and Canadian friends rarely see these sale offers - if that's you and you see a discount, grab it.

  2. The photo was taken from the Silhouette. However, other people reported seeing these prices on the Beyond and Summit.  Interesting that the Celebrity website doesn't mention the premium package now covering up to $20, but it wouldn't surprise me.  Unless someone had multiple premium cocktails each day it was cheaper to NOT upgrade from classic and just pay the $2 or $3 a couple of times a day.  If premium cocktails are now $20 and the covered amount for classic doesn't go up it might get more people to upgrade.

  3. It has been reported that there is new pricing in the Martini Bar and the normal twist martini is now $20.  Photo of new menu page is included below.   In the past the menu prices had a small footnote that an 18% gratuity would be added. That footnote is now gone as is the note that there are 2 sizes available.  Someone has speculated that the new $20 simply represents the original cost + the gratuity.  However, the numbers don't quite add up to original price plus gratuity.

The premium beverage package on the Celebrity website is still showing that it includes drinks up to $17.00.  Has anyone heard whispers of a beverage package package price increase or an increase to the maximum price covered? Is this going to go along with the recent Celebrity trend of upcharges - room service, 2nd lobster tail - and even with the premium package will we soon see a $3 charge at the martini bar? (I cannot see where an upcharge for every transaction would go over well).  We normally upgrade to the premium package and with 2 cruises booked I would rather upgrade now at current pricing if there is a price change coming.

I want to be clear, nobody is reporting any new / different upcharge at this time.  However, if someone is on board now, I would be curious what bartenders say they have been told regarding upcharges from Classic and Premium and the amount they are now charging.

  4. I would say that those costs are in line or even lower than what you will pay locally for a travel related test.   We paid $125 each for a rapid PCR test to travel from the US to a foreign destination earlier this year and many places wanted over $200.  You might be able to schedule something in advance (before you depart)  at the local CVS pharmacy but not sure how that works for a non US citizen and while you get your results by phone in about an hour we waited about 12 hours for our results to be emailed to us so it would likely require that you plan to stay over after the cruise.   If it was me, I would take advantage of the simplicity of having it done on the ship and know it will be ready before you disembark.   Wishing you safe and happy travels.

  5. Has anyone been able to book an excursion to Mystic Mountain as part of a stop in Falmouth?  Either through your ship or an independent operator.  We are stopping in late January and it's something that a few people in our group are interested in.  Would like to hear about your experiences.

  6. I had to make an insurance claim for an Alaska cruise canceled at the very last minute - less then 48 hours.  The trip insurance company is asking Celebrity to provide an official letter indicating that we did in fact cancel the cruise, that no FCC was provided and document the amount of the port fees and taxes refunded.  My travel agent spent over two hours on hold only to be disconnected.  They called again the next day and waited another 2 hours to be told that the "Accounting Department" needs to be asked to do this.

I like my travel agent, but the reality is they didn't get paid on this trip as it didn't happen.  They have been trying to help out but it's taking hours of their time and I want to take over the ask to Celebrity.

Does anyone have contact information for a department at Celebrity that can quickly provide this information.  My preference is to be able to email them the request and not have to wait on hold for hours at a time.    To me, this should be an easy request to fulfil by Celebrity - I can't be the first that needs this type of information.

    Thanks in advance.

In Seattle, the plan is to open the terminal once the ship is ready to board.  This is why the cruise lines all have instituted strict arrival times that will be enforced.

First boarding time is Noon in Seattle. I know it's reduced capacity, but it still seems to be very optimistic that all rooms will be ready (not just public areas) given enhanced cleaning protocols

  8. In the past we were able to head to our cabin, grab our keys from the envelope outside and leave our carry on bag inside the room even if the cabins were not completely ready.  With new Covid regulations and cleaning standards can anyone who has been on a trip since the restart advise if this is still the case. Or, is access to the inside of the cabin prohibited until the rooms are 100% ready.  Looking for input from people who were on cruise 2 or later when there was cleaning from a prior cruise required.

Looking to select our boarding time and don't want to have to haul our carry on bags around with us if cabins can't be accessed.

    Thanks

  9. Just back from a great trip that included a stop in Tortola. We fell victim to a scam there that others should be aware of. There were 6 of us in our group who wanted to take a taxi to Cane Garden Bay for the day. The posted taxi fare is $8 each way. Our taxi driver convinced us that we should pay the $16 round trip fee to him and receive a wristband and expedite the return. The story was that we could show the wristband to ANY taxi diver there and they would bring us right back. No waiting, quick and easy.

We are all seasoned travelers and should have known better, but we paid him $16 each and got the wristbands. If you haven’t already seen this coming, there wasn’t a single taxi driver at Cane Garden that wanted to bring us back with the wristbands. Nobody denied knowing about wristbands, they just didn’t accept them or they would try to call someone. With the ship departure time approaching we paid a driver the $8 each to bring us back. He was very nice to us an apologized for the situation, but explained that the drivers don’t accept the wristbands for return trips because they wouldn’t get paid. He said the other tactic is to get people to pay for a round trip with a set pick up time for the return. He said most drivers don’t return at that time. Tortola is a beautiful stop. We have visited several times and really enjoyed ourselves. Please don’t fall victim to this scam. There are lots of cabs waiting to take your $8 and bring you back.

    P. S. in other forms folks have reported a number of taxi issues in Barbados too. Mostly around drivers changing rates mid ride or trying to drop in alternate destinations if they don't pay more.

So much nicer then the equinox.  They couldn't finish and it was a great disappointment.  They need to bring it back to dry dock

We were just on the Equinox and one of the officers said that it is going back to dry dock to complete the renovations but the date is still TBD. They are considering the first part of 2022 or 2023 but nothing is definite yet.

  11. We were on the voyage that just arrived. We arrived late / received late clearance from customs and they didn't start self disembark process until 7:50.  They were moving rapidly through the numbers - we were group 9 and walked out to the curb at 9am - it went very fast once they started calling group numbers. You're going to have a great time.

  12. If your hotel indicates that there is an extra charge to bring a mini refrigerator to your room make sure you tell them it’s for medicine and ask that they waive the charge, most will.

  13. Nobody wants to have to cancel a trip, especially with just a few days until departure. However you need medical advice before you get on a plane. You are potentially putting an entire ship at risk if you or your husband have a norovirus when you board.  They confine people to their cabin for a reason. I hope you are cleared to travel but that you appreciate what a stomach virus could do to many other passengers should you choose to travel without medical advise and be contagious.

  14. Just off the Equinox less than a month ago. In the MDR the New York was awful, tried by 2 different people on different nights.  Over cooked (even after being  sent back) very thin and shaped like a slice of cheap white bread. Barely resembled a steak. Very disappointing as we have had good properly cooked NYs on past trips.  Prime rib on night 1 was very good. Short ribs were delicious. Lamb was good 2 different nights. Veal was only okay this trip and only served one night.  Best steak by far was in Murano - this trip and others. Delicious. We have had dinner in the Tuscan grill on  past trips and found it to be hit or miss. Murano is the place to go.

  15. We are on the Scandinavia & Russia cruise on the Eclipse starting 18 August from Amsterdam. In Helsiniki and Stockholm it looks like we could dock in several different places. Helsinki could be Hernesaari (LHC & LHB) or West Harbour (LV7& LMA) and Stockholm could be Stadsgården, Frihamnen, or Värtahamnen.

I checked the normal sites that show ships in port, but they just seem to indicate Helsinki or Stockholm. Does anyone know how I can find out which specific port we will dock at in these cities?

Also, someone posted in our Roll Call that they heard a rumor that in Tallin we might have to dock at an older terminal outside of the city as the Serenade of the Seas, Arcadia and Regal Princess are also there and using the newer cruise ship terminal. Anyone else ever hear of this?

  16. Sorry, if I wasn't clear. The issue is not about a login issue (user name vs email) or the standard browser issue. I can login, I can get to my account. The issue is that all of the information that I have entered countless times before - reservation numbers for upcoming cruises, captains club information, personal contact data, immigration information is all missing.

  17. I just logged in to the Celebrity website and all of my personal information - other than name and date of birth - is now missing. I had to input a new password and create a new security question. I then had no upcoming cruises showing and had to input my reservation information AGAIN, input my missing Captains Club number AGAIN. I had to go through a dozen obscure steps to finally be able to see the shore excursions specific to my next trip. I have had it. I like the cruise line and staff but refuse to put up with this website any longer.

How long will you tolerate this website before you vote with your money and go to a different line.

If you are a shareholder is this acceptable to your investment in the company - will you demand that the President / CEO be removed?

  18. Hi Christine. You are going to love Celebrity - welcome to the forum. Lots of great information in existing threads that cover beverage packages, dinners - specialty and main dining room (mdr), shore excursions, cabin location, etc. A thread search will be your best friend. The best suggestion that I can give is to relax and enjoy the trip. The ship staff are going to take excellent care of you.

P.S. You might get some additional replies to this thread if you change the subject to something more specific than "Finally" - although, it got me to look lol.

  19. Our experience has been that when on a Caribbean trip you might get an NFL or college game in the Casino bar. Seating is very limited and it has been hit or miss on the game you get. When in the Med we did see NFL playoff games in the room - albeit they started very late given the time change. We did not find regular season NFL or college games when in the Med with the rare exception and those were shown in the Casino bar. The ESPN coverage is mostly the international version in both locations. While we don't go on vacation to sit and watch television it would be nice to have better sports options in the rooms and a bar with decent amounts of seating- both international football (soccer) and US NFL / college games. However, I know that this comes down to licensing fees and it's unlikely to happen.
