As an aside, there is really no need to know where your muster station is beforehand, You just ask the first crew member you see onboard. They all know where the muster stations are, and they encourage everyone to visit theirs as soon as they get on the ship.
If I want to know beforehand where the muster station is that is my prerogative! Now I know exactly where I have to go as soon as I board.

Sorry, yes this is when taking a taxi or uber to the port. Instead of entering the drop off area via a ramp a couple of blocks up, we used the address of a building across the street from the crosswalk. This kept us from getting stuck in traffic. Then we just walked across the street with our bags and checked them with the porters.
This brings up another issue, the predatory gypsy cabs when you get off the ship. In NYC Uber& Lyft are considered taxis and are under all the same regulations. One of those is that drivers are not allowed to approach potential customers. almost as soon as we got out of the port building there were dozens of drivers walking up to us asking if we needed a cab or uber. These are for the most part unlicensed cars and they will likely charge you way more than they should. There is no way to complain about them as they are not licensed, they will often raise the price from what you agreed to while you are in the car. They are at the cruise terminals, the airports and the bus terminal. If you want a regular taxi, there is a taxi stand across the street. I believe you can get an uber to come into the port although we walked across the street and up the block a bit so we would be out of the crowd.
Ah ok I get it now and thanks for the heads up about the gypsy cabs👍👍

This was our first cruise out of NYC, which is close to us (we are in Connecticut). It was easy-peazy to get to and we got a tip here on CC to use an adress across the street instead of the port itself to avoid the long ramps. Lots of people doing the same thing. There is not much to the port, just lots of seating and aisles to walk through, but they got us on board early. Once on board we explored a bit, went to the buffet and waited for our room to be ready. We found our muster station in the casino fairly easily.
Hello, Can you explain what you mean about using the address across the street, and long ramps? Is this if taking a taxi to the port?
Loved your review, thank you. 31 days for us, excited 🛳️ -

Booked this a few weeks ago. Did an interior guarantee and got an offer for interior Terrazza area so grabbed it. My bday is during this cruise and as I pass on celebrating it, I prefer to be away.
Ship design will be interesting with lack of pool space but now they I have Terrazza area, I will have someplace to sit.
Not planning on doing any Speciality dining this time and we do not do MDR either.
St Thomas we are doing Champagne Catamaran to St Johns. We have been to St Thomas many times but first time doing St Johns.
St Maarten has 3 ships in port and we have also been here many times and have done various tours so think we will just get a taxi to Driftwood or Sunset on Maho Beach. Wish they still had the boat tour we did years ago and anchored off the beach.
San Juan not sure yet but may book tour. We have walked to the fort a few times as well as shopped and hit bars.
Amber Cove and Grand Turk just find a chair by the pool, have a drink and chill or stay on the boat.
Finally someone else who doesn’t go to the MDR👍

Checked out pricing and it is very reasonable. I’m still trying to find out more on this company? Are they a safe, reputable company?
Thanks for all your replies -

I use GOOSE....very reasonable....I have AFIB...so I am on 2 meds, one for heart rate and the other is a blood thinner....My sister pays $150.00 a YEAR for unlimited trips up to 18 days each....That's awesome...unfortunately because of my heart condition and meds....I paid $650.00 for unlimited trips up to 18....I've used 3 already for cruises ...will hit Texas to visit my son and family ...but unfortunately my year is up 5 weeks before my next cruise...so I will be renewing....of course you don't have to do the yearly unlimited...you can just do individual trips
We are from Ontario Canada, never heard of GOOSE? Will check it out though, thanks.
