  1. Hi. I am looking for an excursion in Skagway. I really would like to go on the train, but also have a more active component as well. Perhaps a hike, etc. The Wilderness Safari looks great that I have seen referenced here before, but I worry I will miss out on the train ride. What tours incorporate train with something similar. I found a few tours from Packer Expeditions. Does anyone have experience with them? Other tour recommendations that include both Yukon White Pass train and a more active component than simply a bus/van tour? Thanks.

  2. We booked first cruise to Alaska. My husband and I are interested in a few moderate intensity hikes for a few hours. We are happy to go alone (without formal tour) if safe and consistent transportation is available. What parks/sites are ideal for this strategy? We stop at Ketchikan, icy Straits, Juneau, Seward, Skagway. Thanks

  3. I am looking at going on a first cruise to Alaska. We have narrowed it down to two choices. Both are Vancouver to Seward over 7 days. Itinerary is very similar on both cruise lines. We have 4 and 6 year old children. Any other cruise factors or recommendations when Westerdam and Millenium are so similar in terms of itinerary? Both even have similar ratings. Thanks

  4. I am looking into an Alaska cruise with my 6 and 4 year old kids. Does anyone know which kids clubs have hours during port visits (and can be used while parents are off ship)? Which have babysitting services? I was thinking one way cruise, but also read that these are harder with kids. Why?
