My family is going on the Epic on December 28. I see you have an upcoming cruise on the Jade in 2025 from Whittier to Vancouver. We are thinking about that cruise in 2026. We have never been to Whittier.

We were on the Jewel and they would not let us use our Starbucks gift card or app. I am assuming this is a ship by ship case.

This might be a little late but have you checked out SAUERDOUGH LODGING in Seward. My family and I stayed the last time we sailed out of Seward and really enjoyed it. 

Going on the Bliss on October 8th. Slightly different itinerary than yours but excited to see your adventures and pictures of the Bliss.

Thanks the picture does help out. I think it would be ok for a few hours but I wouldn't want to stay there several days.

The problem with the location is the hotel is within the shopping complex that adjoins the cruise terminal.  The Colon 2000 cruise terminal is walled off and provides some limited access from the rest of  Colon.  You probably have read on this board and other places that Colon is not a place for the casual visitor, so once you are at your hotel, that is where you will stay.  It would be fine to take a tour to the Locks Visitor Center at Agua Clara, but then you would in a cab with a driver to get through Colon. Definitely not the place for DIY touring.  The point is you would need to stay at the hotel and shopping center until it was time to board the ship.  The shopping center is not filled with nice restaurants or other places that could provide entertainment.

Thanks for replying. Currently we are not for sure when our plane will arrive, so we might not need too much entertainment but I understand what you are saying. Would we be able to walk to the port the next safely?

My family and I will be embarking NCL Jewel in March in Colon. We are flying in a day early. We had thought about staying at the Radisson Colon 2,000 Hotel & Casino. Is this hotel a safe place to stay or not? If not, where would you recommend?

We have booked a room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport with the pre-cruise package that includes transport to the pier. We also chose one closer to the pier. Haven't decided on which one yet because we don't know when our flight gets in.

That was a nice mini golf course. We played it at night right before the sunset and had great views of the sunset.

This is the dinner where I think I will skip the entrée and go straight to dessert. Too many choices. Thanks for doing this review. We leave on the Joy for Bermuda on May 29.

We have a cruise already booked for October 2022, March 2023 and July 2023. We booked when the current deal originally came out because we didn't know how long it truly was going to last.

Following along this thread as well. My family and I are driving from Anchorage to Seward on Sunday at the end of May. It will be interesting to see what others suggest for places to eat and visit.

I have followed your wonderful review from the very beginning. It what great to read and see the beautiful pictures. My family and I are going next June 2015 on NCL. This will most of the family's third trip to Alaska but our first time doing a SB cruise. It leaves out of Seward and ends in Vancouver. I will definitely miss checking in each day to read your review and check out your pictures. Thanks for a great review.
