Got email from Seabourn asking if we want change an August 3 week Encore booking for July Ovation 7 or 14 day Greece cruise. Also, email stated that all guests would be required to provide proof of COVID vaccination.

I requested clarification regarding “cohorts” from Seabourn and it appears that guests specifically will not be allowed to share tables with other guests. Not sure how this will work in bars, the Square, etc.
“Cohorts currently refers to guests that are traveling together only. Although this situation is very fluid, as of right now you will be unable to share a table with other guests.
The current protocols may be found at our website at https://www.seabourn.com/en_US/news/travel-advisory.html . All guests with be advised of the protocols to sail in advance of their voyages.
We hope the information above is helpful. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this global event that has impacted us all. “

We have booked a 32 day cruise on the Encore for February/March. The original itinerary left Sydney, went up the east side of the New Zealand South Island to Auckland and then on to New Caledonia and Fiji before ending in Auckland. Yesterday we were notified of an itinerary "change" that totally dropped the New Caledonia/Fiji segment and replaced it with a return down the South Island stopping at most of the same ports as the outbound leg prior to again returning to Auckland. Seabourn offered a $300 onboard credit for our inconvenience or a 10% future cruise discount should we decide to cancel. Unfortunately, cancellation is not really an option as we would lose $12,000 in prepaid airfare. Does anyone have an idea why there would be such a drastic change in the itinerary. I have travelled many times with Seabourn and experienced minor changes in routing but never something as significant as this.
I wrote to customer service advising them of my concern and dissatisfaction with the $300 accommodation but have not heard back from them.

I have enjoyed almost all of my many evenings at hosted tables and enjoy meeting interesting fellow travelers and staff. Five years ago, as a solo traveler, I was invited to a hosted table on the first night of a cruise on the Quest and was seated next to a lovely Englishwoman. We have now been very happily married for 3 years.
