  1. We were booked on Symphony’s Mumbai to Athens voyage which was supposed to sail on 27th March. It was not cancelled by Crystal until mid February, only 5 weeks before sailing.
Maybe because the December cruise encompasses Christmas and New Year, the passengers will be lucky and told with more than 4-5 weeks notice whether the sailing will go ahead or not.

  2. It would be useful to say the least, for Crystal to let Symphony passengers both onboard now and those staying on or getting on for the next few voyages which are scheduled to go through Red Sea and Suez Canal 🤣🤣, just what Crystal’s intentions are. Does anyone in the decision making process seriously believe that our cruise, Mumbai to Athens, will go ahead?! We should have been told weeks ago that it will be cancelled.
World Cruisers etc on Serenity will get a new itinerary and this needs to be worked out. Fair enough.
However, Symphony’s cruises will need to be cancelled in order for her to get round Africa and through the Straits of Gibraltar into the Mediterranean as quickly as possible for the Med season. This will probably mean deadheading in Singapore, as any new itinerary for passengers which involved stopping in Africa would mean delays in getting to the Med. The refuelling, restocking etc stops for the dash to the Med on a crew only ship can be worked out separately to passengers being informed that their cruise is cancelled.
So, yet again I have to ask, what is the point of dragging this farce out?
  3. Silversea has just cancelled their Silver Whisper cruise Mumbai to Athens sailing on March 20th.

Our TA spoke to Crystal less than an hour ago and were given the same rubbish reply of assessing the current situation.

So, come on Crystal, get your act together and give people on Symphony cruises in February and March some proper information. Your current treatment of passengers is truly appalling.

  4. We are booked on Crystal Symphony’s Mumbai to Athens sailing at the end of March.
Nothing has been forthcoming from Crystal regarding whether this cruise will be cancelled etc, although their holding statement assures you they having continued dialogue with affected guests🤣🤣.
Our TA has spoken to Crystal this morning, and still no answer to our questions. Truly appalling

    customer relations from Crystal.

  7. Crystal has just announced a series of themed cruises for 2024, one of which is the last couple of weeks in February on Symphony as she continues on her current journey from Asia to the Red Sea and thence the Mediterranean.

I would rather know what is happening to Symphony in March when she, and we, are supposed to be transiting the Gulf of Aden / Bab El Mandab Strait and then sailing the Red Sea.
Considering the latest developments regarding the missile attacks in this area, I can’t believe that a decision to cancel sailings in this area has still to be made. The lack of communication to current passengers and those on the upcoming March sailings is woeful.

  8. We would very much like to go on Bremen or Hanseatic down to Antarctica and S.Georgia in 2019. Previously, we have been to Antarctica on Crystal Symphony, and so we obviously haven’t the opportunity for any landings etc.

I know that the German only advertised sailings shouldn’t be a language problem whilst onboard the vessel, but does the lack of German become a problem on the zodiac trips etc.? I have a basic understanding of German from school, but my husband doesn’t understand the language at all.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  9. I understand that SeaDreamII visited Sanya, Hainan Island, China in March this year. Can anybody advise me as to whether a visa was required for the few hours that the ship was docked and if so, was it obtained before sailing or upon arrival.

My husband and I will be on Crystal Symphony in January and she will be making her maidan call at Sanya, but I know that Crystal will not be obtaining a visa for passengers for this port.

I have written to the Chinese Visa Centre here in UK, but I haven't received a reply. Any help from someone who has visited Sanya whilst onboard SeaDream will be greatly appreciated.

Also, was anyone advised to take malaria tablets before visiting Sanya?

    Christine
