  1. Two, that come to mind.

On our VERY FIRST cruise on board the Carnival Spirit, we were sailing as a family, about nine of us in total, but all driving separately in groups of two and three. For the first hour or so, we couldn't get in contact with ANYONE, since we all boarded at separate times. We regroup eventually, but it we were nervous wrecks for the first while. Never again!

Another terrifying cruise moment was when my mother thought she had lost about $200 dollars in extra spending money that my grandpa had given her. Again, it was the first day of the cruise, which of course doesn't help, because you're already full of emotions any how! She eventually found it in her purse about a MONTH after the cruise, which ended up working out, because we needed the money for some sudden dental purposes, but it sure was pretty scary that first day!

  2. So far, I've only sailed in indoor cabins, and I love them!

The other members of our group (grandparents and family friend) have always stayed in balcony rooms and suits, which are, well... sweet! I've stayed a few nights with them, and I love sleeping so close to the ocean.

But there's just something about indoor cabins that I absolutely love. There is one moment that I look forward to on every cruise we take, and that's the first night. We've just gotten on board, explored the ship for the first time, went to the sail away party, ate our first (and certainly not last) dinner on board, went to one of the shows, and now it's time to get some shut eye. We retire to the cabin, change for bed, and shut the lights off. What do we see? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The room is jet black, and the only noises we hear is the ship slowly and quietly creaking as it rocks us to sleep. The cabin is dark, and the week ahead is absolutely bright.

    Love. It.

  3. My Uncle gave me my first ship model of the Carnival Spirit on my birthday during our first family cruise. I've been collecting them ever since! I only have three so far (C. Spirit, C. Magic, and Royal Caribbean's Mariner of The Seas). They, or as I like to call them, The Fleet, sit proudly atop my TV stand in my bedroom. Hoping to add some new ones soon!

  4. You're definitely a cruise "n00b," if you tell the ice cream vendor on deck that he should "totally work at 31 Flavors!" Because, you know, he's never heard that one before...

Or if you make a reference to either Titanic, Poseidon, or any other disaster cruise movie during the muster drill... more than once. I still to this day will make just a tiny reference here or there to my closest friend or family member I'm cruising on, but it's always hilarious to hear the new cruisers loudly exclaim how this is just like that scene where Jack and Rose are running through the main stairwell... several times.
