  1. You say 220W immersion heater and that Ama's is 220W (W as in Watts), but that is wrong. They use a 220V (V as in Volts), which is completely different. You might want to double check, and if it is allowed (which I am not sure of, you may need not only a plug converter for the different style plugs, but you may also need voltage transformer. Just go back and check if it is Watts or Volts.

  2. On European River Cruises, do the ships sometime drop you off in one port such as Cologne and then after your excursion pick you up in a different city such as Bonn or Koblenz (transporting you to the new city by way of the excursion transportation)

  3. I am looking for how embarkation day on an AmaWaterways cruise works. Mainly I am wanting the timetable of events such as the welcome aboard dinner. I want to plan some evening events in Amsterdam outside of the cruise, but I don't want them to conflict with the cruise activities.

  4. A different option: We take the city bus from the port area to the glacier.

The cost is only $2 each way and there has always been enough room when we have traveled on it. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the stop closest to the glacier (but you will need to walk a little over a mile to the visitors center).

Cons: The city bus system is not nearly as tourist-friendly as the one in Ketchikan; you will have to walk a ways (but the trail is away from the main road and quite scenic); it is not a direct route; you meet some interesting locals on the bus.

Pros: It's cheap; you see Juneau from a local's perspective; you meet some interesting locals on the bus.

What is the trail? I was under the impression that you had to walk the road to Mendenhall from the public bus stop.
