The Long's Drug Store mentioned is in the Maui Mall in Kahului (not Lahaina) - close to where the Pride of America docks in Kahului Harbor.

 

In case you want to google a reference point for where ships tender into Lahaina, you will be by the Pioneer Inn and the historic Banyan Tree.

We also got off this past Saturday and like you we parked in the Maui Mall lot. We parked at the end near Long Drugs (it is 24 hours) on the very outside near the road.

The only Long Drugs I can see in Lahaina is at Lahaina Cannery Mall. Is this the mall you're talking about and where does the ship tender too?

I can't determine if there is an extra price to take this all around the island bus. Standard fare is $2.50/person

 

On DHCR's website, they provide info on shuttles - click on "Maui, Lahaina Harbor" in this link, and you'll see that Enterprise and Dollar provide shuttles (including instructions for shuttle contact) - and Budget and Avis do not (therefore requiring a taxi each way. ) .

Hey AndrewM – I send an email note to the Hertz Aruba main customer service address outlining time, place, and date for pickup, car class requested, drop off location and time. Within a day, a real person will respond to your request and you can work with them via their Hertz email address directly to finalize the reservation. Good Luck and have fun!

We were in Aruba on 8/6/14. As our ship was not scheduled to depart until 11PM, I decided to rent a Jeep 4x4 to explore the island at our own pace. We rented from Hertz Aruba. They have a desk at Renaissance Aruba Resort & Marina.

Thanks GoldenDomer! How did you reserve your jeep? I just tried on Hertz's arubarentacar.com website and it requires that your pickup and dropoff date be different.

We just got back from a wonderful cruise, and St Maarten was our last stop. We rented a Jeep from a rental agency inside the port, thinking it was safer than outside the port. Boy we were wrong! As expected, we needed a credit card as a deposit, and an imprint was made of my husband's card. We did not use this card during the trip (we used cash and even paid for the rental with cash) and only used the card for these types of things. We had a great time there, and then we were at-sea for two days before coming home. When we got to the port in the US, I turned on my cell service and checked my email, I had notifications that our card was being used! I then checked our card and had close to $3000 charged on it from the Chicago area in the two days we were at-sea! Considering St Maarten is the ONLY place this card was used, it is clearly apparent that this man that worked at the rental agency was imprinting cards and selling the numbers to people in the USA. The people who were using my card in Chicago had an "actual card" with our information on it, they didn't use it online. They also were able to purchase small enough amounts to "fool" the bank, so they didn't turn off our card for irregular activity. Anyways, BE VERY CAREFUL here, and DON'T GIVE ANYONE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!!!

May I ask which agency we should avoid?

Our flight doesn't leave til later that evening. Has anyone ever stored their luggage in lockers somewhere in Rome for the day?

Awesome thanks Kellie! And it looks like there will be few worries for our day in Santorini. There is only one other ship in port that day and it arrives 4 hours earlier and leaves 4 hours before the Reflection leaves. I hope that means easy access up the hill!

didn't get in line in time to get back in time for our dinner reservations, so we walked down as the sun set.

May I ask you how long it took you to walk down to the tender from the top?

Anyone know if there is a way of finding out what cruise ships are docked in Santorini on August 21st?
