When our baggage was delayed, the airline told us they would reimburse us for clothes and supplies (an average set amount for each day of delay, which could be purchased all on one day if needed) and our travel insurance would have done so if they hadn’t. We shopped in the HAL shops onboard. I hope the bag arrives and you get what you need!

    United hasn't said anything about reimbursement.  I did save receipts just in case. 

     

     

  2. Haven't gotten kicked off the ship yet due to whatever rules. Hopefully my husband's bag will be in Sitka tomorrow.  I wish it was my suitcase that was delayed because he is missing so much stuff that he bought for the cruise. So hope the bag comes in the morning so we can do some hiking, etc. I am finally feeling relaxed from all of the frustration, using the thermal suite and had a massage yesterday.

I am currently on the Eurodam.  My husband heard about this last night because we had not left port and the casino wasn't opening so he was asking why we weren't moving.  They said a team member from your ship went overboard and our crew was helping in the search along with the coast guard. Our captain made a similar announcement this morning and also offered counseling services. So sad.

    What airline are you flying tomorrow and where  are you staying in Juneau ?  If United is getting the luggage to Juneau tomorrow, your hotel should be able to assist you . If not , Hal should have the luggage delivered to the ship shortly after arrival.

    We are flying Alaska Airlines tomorrow. Can;t remember the name of the hotel, but it is downtown. United said someone at the Juneau airport will assist me. Fingers crossed.

     

    Does anyone by chance  have Juneau restaurant recommendations? 😉

  5. PCR tests done. Guest services called my parents on the ship for them to reach out to me to tell me to take the tests again and my dad said "They are doing that right now.". Everyone involved is aware of our situation and letting us board the ship. Hopefully they didn't cancel my spa pass. I am going to need that therapeutic pool when I get on board. 

     

    Now I am going put on my PJ's and some Dateline while I stay on hold with baggage services to figure out my luggage debacle. The texting representatives were too vague about where to get the bags.

    Basically they do not want to expend the effort to sort through the bags and that sometime they will end up in Seattle. I assume you are having to deal with the airport a Newark.

     

    There were 100's if not 1000 people in line for baggage services last night. We went home because people said they had been in line for hours and we figured we could go to the app and have them delivered to our home. But instead the app says our bags don't exist. Someone from United said to go back to the airport and put in a request with baggage services and they will get our bags. Get to the airport and are just told You will NOT get your bags today go home. Go home and someone from united via text said our bags will be at the Juneau airport which I highly doubt. 

     

    Now I have to figure out where to get a new COVID test. We are all set to board in Juneau. The agent I just talked to said we are not the only ones dealing with this.

    Again all the airlines need to accommodate the cities that have cruise port.  Otherwise, one industry is affecting another.  I mean it is a cross country flight and to cancel all seems odd.

    We had a plane and crew but no gate and then our pilot "timed out." Nightmare.

    I feel that the airlines need to be careful cancelling flights to popular airport that cruise ships fly out of. 

    Just saying.  then again would it not be nice to have all the cruise lines get together and own an airline and they they control (except weather) flights.  just a dream

     

    No we were flying yesterday and our flight got canceled and they had already canceled 2 other EWR to SEA flights so there was nothing to book us on the following day and all flights have like 30 people on standby. So we did try to fly the day before. I don't know what happened but there used to be a lot more earlier flights in teh day to SEA, now there is nothing between 7am and 5pm . And they canceled the 7:30am flight this morning to make things even worse. There were people trying to get onto my flight who had been t the airport for 2 days.

     

    Two HAL reps assured me that I can board in Juneau.

  9. Hi all!

    So we have a flight to juneau tomorrow and I called that HAL emergency line last night and they have alerted the ship that we will be joining them there. But now I am wondering if we have to get a COVID test again since we took ours on Thursday. 

     

    Now our issue is our luggage, United will not let us retrieve our bags. They said we can't get our bags today and we can't even request them to be sent to us until we reach our destination, our destination is a moving ship. I am at a loss. 

     

    ETA:

    We were flying the day before our cruise. And if we had flown the day before that, the flight would have been canceled as well. 

    Also, yje HA: emergency services people said the only port we couldn't join in would be Skagway, and that wasn't even a stop forus.

  10. Hello all!

    I have been watching whatever videos that I can find of the Fitness Center to get a feel for what equipment they have and downloading training videos to use. I do orangetheory as well as some reformer pilates and yin/restorative yoga for recovery. 

     

    I looked hard, but did not see any rowers, is there one there?

     

    How are the treadmills? I am used to the nice bouncy orangetheory ones. Preparing myself for a knee-killing treadmill workout. 

     

    For yoga, do they have blocks & blankets available?

     

    Any medicine balls?

     

    When I did my last cruise on NCL, they had an unlimited class package, does HAL do something similar? WHich classes do they usually charge for and around how much are they? Do any of you have an example of the classes available for a week? I am doing an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle.

     

    Thanks in advance, I think that is all I have...for now.

  11. Meanwhile, my parents have been in transit and HAL has not reached out to them at all and are only getting updates from family. My brother is picking them up at the airport and called HAL to make sure and they said they said they are good for pick up.

    If you were on board the ship or had family members on board would your opinion change?

     

    I am a family member and I want them involved if need be, for sure. Any ideas who I can contact on their behalf?
