  1. Hi Jeffry,

Houston, to me, is an ugly city. The port is not pretty but then, what port is?! Keep a close eye on fog as that seems to be a major problem OFTEN in that port. Sign up for the email notifications from Princess, or whatever you need to do so you don't sit around for 4 hours like we did. We always manage to have a great time, regardless of delays, weather, crabby passengers, etc. :)

Nothing in the great wild world is uglier than LA. Houston is not Florence but what is?

  2. Maybe it's no great loss for you.. For us, the reef is one of the best in the world for scuba and snorkeling. The Mayan temples are also great culturally.

you guys need to get out more...belize? what a crappy place. mayan ruins are better in Tulum. and snorkeling as a reason for going on a cruise is a joke. scuba maybe. i have noticed that people who only or mostly cruise on Princess are extremely defensive. why is that?

  3. And 2) when returning to Bayport and we encountered bad weather, the ship continued at 20 knots (with what felt like no stabilizers). It was one of the rockiest evenings I can recall on a cruise. If you didn't have norovirus, you certainly felt like crap riding out that storm. What was even more frustrating was after barreling through that storm on Wed, we crawled into port the next day. I just don't understand the logic.

i have been told that bobbing around in high seas is worse than plowing through as far as sea sickness goes.

  4. Right, but what about the people who are supposed to board on Sat? Also, if the port does close on Saturday due to fog, if it doesn't reopen until Mon or Tue, then the ship is not prepared to support the passengers for those extra days. It's not like a regular hotel, they have a certain amount of food, etc. for a certain amount of time.

Better safe than sorry. I am sorry for the people missing their port and they should be allowed to stay on board until sat. am.

I think your point is that a sea day could turn into several sea days if the fog blocked the port while the ship slow motored to home and that provisions are limited but a dock day eliminates the extra sea days and provisions will suffice (or could even be replenished). If I read you correctly that makes good sense!

And passengers could even get off the ship and go to Gaidos in Galveston, a personal favorite. Also check out Thai Seafood in Webster. Or Princess may arrange shuttles to Kemah boardwalk but the food there is just so so.

Considering the crummy ports of call on this cruise and the questionable quality of the ship food this could potentially be the best part of the cruise.;)

  5. While I will agree that we don't know the circumstances, I don't really agree with the rest of your statement. I understand that ports are missed because of weather all the time. I just don't think that heading home a day early because there MIGHT be fog falls in the same category. If you miss an away port due to weather, you just end up with an extra sea day (aw darn). I don't think that compares with a day sitting at the industrial port of Houston!

I hope Princess makes right by the passengers, and I agree with you. Pam carries the Princess flag, loyalty I suppose....or maybe she is on the BOD, LOL.

  6. Yes, skipping Belize despite almost perfect weather down here (in Roatan). Allegedly to "beat the fog" back into Houston. There's also a Noro outbreak that has supposed worsened they put Noro measures into effect on Monday. Lots of angry folk aboard.

Weather is brutal in Houston/Galveston today but not supposed to be bad at all this weekend. Can't see beating the fog as a reason, even to Princess sycophants, but one must assume that there is a reason. Hope you all get a cruise credit or something.

  7. Not working here in Florida either. It won't even recognize my name:confused:

Well, at this juncture, it seems to be a lost cause. ACC is not taking this to be a priority thing if a thing at all. Bill Leiber says they are working on it. The character Wally in the comic strip "Dilbert" survives by that tactic. Check out the debacle in DC for an analogy. I think the message is find a way around it (Also Sprach Obama). I will just put my trust in God that somehow when i show up on embarkation day that all will be well.

  8. well its still broken no matter what little bits may or may not be working at any given time, it is still impossible to view linked bookings etc (we have our relatives linked to ours and cant view it) also various other bits like transportation/ special occasions/ etc, fortunately we are in no rush as not travelling until february so we will sit back and wait on the repair !!!! if it ever comes.

Same status here. Unfortunately I leave in 4 weeks. How about it Azamara? A status report or something please?:(

  9. Hello -

I'm passing on your feedback and difficulties that you are experiencing with accessing your reservation information.

I will follow-up with you when I have information to share.

I'm sorry for the frustration that you are experiencing.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Leiber

Bill, I don't think ACC thinks they have a problem, but they do, big time. I will be watching diligently to see if ACC take this seriously, but my initial take is as posted earlier - White House denials followed by oh well use the call center, the product is still good.....not.

  10. i was on it this morning looking at tours on future cruises.. did it go nuts later on?

go to "my azamara" then click on "my reservations". at that point you used to be able to select a reservation and "manage my reservation", see details, co travellers, stuff you have bought such as tours and transfers, etc. but not anymore. no drop down box even though that page says to use the drop down box. or at least that is the way it is behaving in Texas.:(

  11. Bill, the new information with the added comment to call Azamara if your cruise leaves within the next few weeks is frankly terrifying. I called and they said everything was just fine in Miami and maybe their systems guys were making minor changes "out there", wherever that is (the real world?), and not to worry but it was obvious the person I spoke with had no clue what was going on. And if Azamara's response to a non-functioning website is don't worry be happy it is reminiscent of the denial campaign coming from the White House. Will Azamara fix their malfunctioning My Azamara site or not? If the answer is yes, when?

  12. oh, my. i read all this stuff about lack of live music. one of our favorite things is after dinner drinks in the Mosaic with the pianist/guitarist. on our last cruise we closed the place down dancing and singing along every night. is the live piano bar stuff gone now??
