  1. The Bud Light are 16 oz Others 12 oz

    Hi

Cruised with your group before and unfortunately had to cancel out on the Nov 15th 2015 Mex Riviera Cruise as hubby had a bad fall 6 days before cruise date (3 broken thoracic ribs, fractured shoulder, concusion with facial lacerations & bruising -stay away from walking down an extremely steep 4 wheel drive driveway in the first rain of the season!). Anyway, he is better and we just rescheduled that same cruise to leave SF Feb 13th. Looking back at all your pictures for the Nov cruise we missed, we were fascinated at the time with finding the roof top Tiki type bar overlooking Puerto Vallerta and the beach bars near the marina in Cabo that were portrayed in your pictures. Any possibility you could send me names of those places so we could hunt them down for a drink or two this trip coming up? We are Bill & Jackie at cothulio1@gmail.com. Thank you so much for all the great pictures you posted....sure had us ready for that Nov trip that didn't happen and now we intend to make up for it with a great trip this time.

  2.

There have been two arrests this morning! I saw the second person being escorted out in handcuffs. Then another passenger informed us that this morning authorities came on the ship searched a few cabins and arrested someone. I will try to find out more. And here lies the reason we have these inspections.

We saw 2 ship's officer and a custom agent leaving a cabin with an elderly couple standing in the doorway looking shook up while we were searching for our tour group meeting place that morning. The two officers were upset with whatever happened in the cabin.....we had no idea what we were all in for!

  3. Thanks for the info! Been to Long Beach port several times on previous cruises but don't really know the area or whats around other than the Queen Mary. Any other ideas of things to do in the area? I didn't plan on any excursions but if there is another Customs nightmare, I want to be prepared.......

We were some of the lucky folks that had a tour booked in Long Beach although an hour late starting with the customs fiasco....the Getty Center in the Santa Monica Hills well worth seeing (beautiful museum and gardens) followed by a quick trip through Beverly Hills & Rodeo Drive . However, I was disappointed as misunderstood that it didn't include the Getty Villa.....15 miles away near Malibu. It is a villa that was excavated in the ruins of Pompei by J.P. Getty and resurrected on the California coast with all the artifacts that were found in it. Next time we'll rent a car and head there!

Be sure to tour the Midway aircraft carrier in San Diego ( $15 for Seniors and $10 for retired military), the Guadalupe Wine Valley Tour in Ensenada....some of the best champagne we ever tasted and we have Napa Valley and the Gold Country/El Dorado-Placer County Wine areas here in Northern California that we wander through!

    Anyway, have a great time!

  4. My DH and I were on a Canada/New England Fall cruise and had gotten off the ship In Canada to ride the local bus (which required exact fare in Canadian $ only). While we were standing by the bus stop trying to figure out if we had the correct amount (didn't!) a nice well dressed older woman walked up to us to ask if we needed help. After telling her our confusion, she opened her change purse and handed us the correct Canadian $ and when we tried to give her US $ in exchange....she just smiled and told us to have a wonderful day and be sure to enjoy the trip to the Reverse Flow Falls and turned and walked away smiling saying she was paying it forward. WOW! What a warm glow we carried with us the rest of that trip on Princess!

  5. How many people have had booze taken from their checked luggage or bags that they take on at the terminal when they board the ship in the last couple of months? What port did you embark on? I have seen only one person report this. Has anyone had this happen to this you?

Embarked at Whittier Alaska Sept 2013.....yep, they got one rum runners from a checked bag before it arrived in our cabin.....Darn!

  6. Or use rum runners and never be caught.

Just finished a Princess Cruise and our luggage arrived in our room minus a rum runner with a note that we were suspected of having violated the alcohol policy. They missed the others which were wrapped in bubble wrap and tucked in with shoes and toiletries. DH did not believe it was crucial to pack his rum runner so carefully, thus we lost it. They didn't return the emptied rum runner to us so beware and be careful.
