  1. I've done it twice and recording the event makes it really worth while. The amount of gifts they receive is pretty plentiful in my opinion. I fell in love with the tea and now enjoy it at home. The choices are much better now food wise and tea wise. Some of the food items they retrieve from Palo...like the desserts. it doesn't fill up too fast but again, it's all depends on the interest level.

Yes, I always had enough to do on the ship.  My husband likes to veg, read books, and basically lounge, whereas I like to join the ship activities, take in a movie, or find a chair up on deck and read.  On cruises, I usually wish I had a few more hours in each day.  :)

If you are looking for a warm weather cruise, this one might not be for you.  We have done the Merrytime cruise 4 times (5th time coming up in late November) and we personally like the cooler temps vs the blazing heat and humidity of the summer.  Out of the four Merrytime cruises, we've only had one (the 2nd) that we really considered the weather to be miserable as it rained every day and was very cold all day, every day.

We actually are considering a cruise next November. We always cruise in January besides other times of the year as well but have to stop cruising in January because my kids are now getting into the higher grades. We love the cooler temps as well.

  3. WOW!!! Awesome Review! We were on the same cruise as you and you have a picture of animators and you got us in the photo. I'm wearing the Red Santa Hat and then you took a picture during the 5K run and snapped a picture of the anchor and you got my daughter in that Picture.....AWWWW. I absolutely loved the sailing. The weather On Castaway Cay couldn't have been any better. Thanks again for putting a smile on my face, especially while I'm sitting here at work.

  4. The Embarkation Process for Disney has gotten worse especially if you ride the DCL Bus to get to the port. On our last cruise, we took the DCL Bus and arrived at 11am. No PAT is picked during online check-in if taking the DCL Bus. We were traveling with another family, registered at the same time at Port Canaveral. We got Boarding Number 19 and they got boarding number 2. They are Silver and We are Gold Castaway Club Members. We weren't expecting that at all. But we didn't let that bring us down.

  5. When you get to MCO' date=' grab your luggage and go to the Welcome Center at terminal B (same place you caught the Magical Express bus to MCO) and check in for DCL transfers. The "tickets" will be in the booklet you'll receive from DCL. The DCL transfers start running about 9:15-9:30, so plan accordingly.

The Magical Express driver will only drop you at the departures drop off area, so you will have a bit of a walk. When you are choosing your hypothetical flight to book the ME to MCO, it is helpful if you choose a terminal B airline.:)[/quote']

Thanks again! You are so helpful on these boards! We plan on doing just what you said.

  6. Sorry' date=' no I haven't used them.

Another alternative (if you can get transportation from MCO) would be to talk Magical Express (free) to MCO and get transportation to the port from there. Yes, it would be a pain to do two forms of transportation, but.....

To make it work, you have to look up a flight that departs about 3 hours later than you wish to be at the airport and DO NOT check your luggage with ME, take it on the bus with you. They will assign you a time that will get you to MCO "3 hours before your flight."[/quote']

The answer I've been searching for. We are staying at a resort and don't want to wait around for DCL to come pick us up and was hoping to just have THE DME take us back to MCO to grab the DCL Transport. Thanks a bunch!

  7. Has anyone experienced recently sealice while on Castaway Cay?

I went last year in February on the Magic and had the unfortunate experience and was not prepared with the lotion that is available for that!

Has any one else had this happen to them?

The only time I has experienced sea lice was on our August cruise. Our January cruise's...nothing.

  8. If the border people are any good which is doubtful, they can watch you to see if you are nervous. This might warrant further checks. Some countries depend upon slightly extended interviews and not electronics to guard their borders.

    DON

What do you mean "If the Border People are any good which is doubtful"?

  9. Was this from Tortola or St Maarten ? I have been checking private water taxis but prices are high and there is also some type of added fee for clearing customs ?! One company even charged $50 extra for gas...$1500 out of the question for a family of 5. Anyway, had heard that the Disney one takes awhile to get everyone organized etc etc and that time on the island is very short...did you find that to be true. Seems to be on and off for Disney as far as availability is concerned and some excursions have been cancelled on short notice.

    That was from Tortola.

  10. We did this excursion through Disney and back in January, they used a shuttle company that took us by boat which was a 40 minute ride...Pretty nice...then we were taxied over to the Beach. They set up an area just for Disney cruisers all the way at the end of the beach for us. The beach was beautiful, the Painkillers were awesome and the food was great.

  11. I feel very sorry for what the family is going through. I could not imagine going through what they are. Keeping children safe is always top priority and to ignore such signs was a costly mistake on the part of the family. How many signs do we need to add to the signs already given. No swimming means no Swimming. No parking means no parking, Do not drink the Bleach means do not drink the bleach. When Growing up, NO meant NO. Again, who is to blame well hard to say.
