Settle the discussion before you leave. Just be honest with him, tell him you are going to be drinking, on vacation, having fun! You want him to have fun too! Let him know in advance how you feel about being questioned and prefer not to be. He loves you and should respect that!

This is how I would handle it, too. Like you, I drink more than my H while on vacation and I would hate to be questioned or be made to feel like I was being watched (and/or judged) by my H for my alcohol intake. However, I'm just of the personality that I would lay it out to hubby ahead of time and tell him he needs to figure out a way to deal with it so he doesn't spoil the vacation for BOTH of us. ;)

The problem with setting up two accounts with separate credit cards is that the two bills are still going to be slid under one door and might end up in the hands of your H anyway.

We got off the Paradise yesterday and I have to say, we had a fantastic time! I was a little concerned after we booked and then I read some less than flattering reviews of the aging ship, but I can tell you that this was one of our best cruises ever.

The ship is a little outdated in décor, and God forbid I did see some rusty spots on the outside railings and even spotted some trash in the stairwell left by obviously ill-mannered guests, but who cares about those little things? The food was great, the entertainment was awesome, the staff was superb. Best of all, there seemed to be virtually no lines for anything. I kept remarking to my H about how uncrowded the ship felt.

I think (hope) you have a wonderful time. I would most certainly sail the Paradise again.

Me, DH, DD and her DH are cruising on Carnival Paradise next week and we read some great reviews about the Cozumel Amazing Race. We are a pretty adventurous and competitive bunch, so that sounds like a lot of fun. But we also like exploring and thought the dune buggy tour would be fun. Any comments, thoughts or recommendations regarding the two?
