They most certainly do! I had a similar situation on Princess...met at the gangway and escorted to Customs.
I was also told the jewelry I bought was "US Goods Returning" and luckily had it on my card. Unfortunately, the sales people were wrong. It was not US goods returning, so our passports were taken while Customs read the Princess rep the riot act and determined the duty we needed to pay. Not a pleasant experience!
Never again! I'll stick to t-shirts and a bottle or two!

Thank you so much for your review and wonderful pictures!!
DH and I are sailing on the Coral for the first time in November, and you have me more excited then ever to come aboard!
Thanks again for taking so much of your time to share so much information with all of us!

Thank you for the elaborate answer!
You seem quite loyal to Princess. Would you mind sharing what you like about this line in particular? It would be some great insight, since we have only sailed MSC to date.
While we have also sailed with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Celebrity, Princess is a good fit for us, a very subjective opinion, as you know! :)
We are in our mid 50s with no children, and we don't look for slides, climbing walls, zip lining, etc. (I am NOT saying there is anything wrong with them, just not for us)
We enjoy the beautiful decor of the Princess ships, the friendly staff, and the ability to always find a place to sit and see the sea!! It's not too hectic, but we can always hang out in Club 6 or Skywalkers when we want to stay out past midnight! And the Casino is always a stop, but I have to admit, I find the one on the Regal/Royal more cramped then on their older ships. The plus side of that is that I gamble less! (But with more bars, one can drink more!)
The Piazza on the Regal or Royal is one of the most beautiful spots I've seen on a cruise ship! I can sit on any of the three levels and people watch or take in the entertainment for hours!
And when you love a nice martini, Crooners Bar is a great place! And if you enjoy wine, Vines is the ticket! We find Princess to have the best wine list of the lines we've cruised, for our taste.
We have established long term friendships with some of the crew that has continued even after they left the line.
For us, it's a great fit, but as noted, it's totally subjective!
As I've said earlier, I'm sure you'll have a great time on whichever line you choose!

While I have not been on the Silhouette, I have sailed on the Regal and Royal and can share some of the positive aspects for you to consider.
As you have heard, the Regal has dining options, included in the fare, that her sister ships do not.
Alfredo's is a wonderful choice for lunch or dinner if you are in the mood for antipasto, pizza, calzones, etc. It is a full service restaurant with window seats to enjoy the views.
The buffet on the Regal is like no other! The variety is plentiful and the design is easy to navigate and comfortable. There is a dedicated Pastry Shop within the buffet for when your sweet tooth calls!
The International Cafe is on all or most Princess ships, and is a great place to grab a panini and salad for lunch or dinner, or pastries and muffins for breakfast. And the cookies are great anytime! The food is included, but there is a charge for the specialty coffees and teas.
As for the balconies noted above, sadly most are smaller on the Regal and on most of the newer ships across the lines. However, if you can score one of the midship mini suites on the bump out, you'll enjoy a more spacious balcony. Choose port side and you won't be under the Seawalk. You will be under the Seabar, but we have never had an issue with privacy.
I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time on either ship!!

Thanks. Unless you went to the Capt repeater party you wouldn't find the next 2 posted anywhere.
They didn't have one on the 4night cruise.

Thanks for your updates! Looking forward to boarding Thursday, especially now that you have confirmed that Bo is back in Crooners!! We had so much fun with him and 'Kay' in October!!
Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!

Best LIVE ever!! Thank you for taking us on your 'escape'.
I certainly hope you are a writer/journalist/entertainer...if not, you might want to consider a change! :)
Safe travels and stay warm!

Is that Chai Latte a coffee or tea?
It was Chai Tea Latte, but apparently you could get a coffee version, as they always asked me if I wanted a shot of espresso in it.
-
If you have a specialty coffee you like ask them if they cqn make it. I do know they can not make Chai Latte but can make Cafe Mochas.
They now have Chai Latte! I had them on the Emerald in October and the Regal in November.

Investing for financial gain is one thing but if your prime motivation is to get OBC, book your future cruises onboard and you will get the same benefit without risking or tying up your money. No?
If you have the stock AND book onboard or with Future Cruise Deposits purchased onboard, you get double the OBC, on Princess anyway.
CCL Stock has been good to us so far!

Thanks again for a fantastic live review!!
We leave Sunday and can't wait to stop at Crooners and have Zivka make us a Milky Way martini!! :D
-
I'm finding pricing to be as varied as people's opinions on food these days!
Our mini suite on the Regal for Thanksgiving is less than a balcony room on the Emerald in January. And we're getting OBC!
For us, the set up on the Royal/Regal Piazza works well and makes it a favorite!
Happily, there are different classes to satisfy individual tastes! And I haven't found one that I didn't like yet!:D

So happy to hear that you are enjoying the Regal!
One more week for us to board!
We really love all the Royal/Regal have to offer.
Thank you again for this wonderful thread! :) You've given us some new stops to make in St. Thomas and St. Maarten!
-
You may be right. I only done 51 Princess cruises. Two more this year. lol
And 51 times, you were in bed by 11pm, so you didn't see the crowds of us getting our drinks at the evening happy hour! :D
IMHO, they are taking care of multiple demographics by doing an afternoon session and a late night one.
Works for me!! :)
Enjoy your cruises!!

We're about to enjoy our 4th mini on the Regal/Royal and make a point of always selecting the midship minis with the larger balconies.
We've never felt like we were being watched. Of course, I doubt our fellow passengers would be so interested to watch us read, enjoy a drink or chat on our balcony, so no worries here! :D
Enjoy your cruise!

Hello friends! Just spending a relaxing day on board... will be headed to Sabatini's for dinner at 8 pm and will have pictures from that. There are still quite a few areas of the ship I want to get photos from and I definitely will do my best to get them :)

If you enjoy artichokes, the soufflé at Sabatinis is not to be missed! Mangia! :)

Goodnight my friends from Regal! See you tomorrow :)

Yay!!! That looks like our sweet friend, Zivka!!! I hope she is still there in two weeks!! She was running Vines on the Royal last time we saw her in April, 2014.
Glad to see you enjoying those Martinis! :D

Thanks for another great "Live from"!
We're boarding the Regal again in two weeks, and you are certainly adding to the excitement!
If you are a fan of chocolate cocktails, you should see if they are still serving the special Norman Love drink selection in the Wheelhouse Bar. That was the only bar serving them last year, and boy were they delicious!
Enjoy the rest of your cruise, and thanks again!

Congratulations!! What a great deal! We were in the Haven on the Getaway and it was outstanding!! You will love every minute!!
So nice to hear that your perseverance paid off!
And yes, it will ruin you for future cruises, but then you look at the price (the normal one ;)), and you're happy with your regular type of cabin.
Enjoy!

I will give that a try tomorrow, I am just afraid of peeling the paint off.
Thank you.
Before trying a bleach product, you might want to try Fantastic or similar type product. I use that on my Swarovski crystal and other porcelain pieces and it works great in removing yellowing.

Thanks for once again taking so much time and effort to give us a fantastic "Gambee" review!!
As always, your pictures are great and your commentary is the best!! :D
Great to 'see' you!! ;)

Your pictures are stunning!! Thank you for sharing your cruise with us!

Tracie,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your mom.
I have been enjoying your cruise threads, and the lovely relationship between you and your mother is so apparent in each of the posts.
You and your family are in my prayers.
Always remember the joy you gave to your mom on all your cruises! Those memories will help you through the difficult days ahead.
What do you do when you first board the ship.

We go to Crown Grill and make reservations for the week, then off to Alfredo's or International Cafe for a bite and our first vacation drink...ahhh...it won't be long now! 😎
