We were able to use Cheers pretty much everywhere on the ship including the Steakhouse and the Chef's Table.

Roatan is our favorite port too in the Caribbean. The sand is like powdered sugar and the water is super clear. I have chosen cruises just because of Roatan.

I had a similar problem, but it turns out Carnival put a space in my last name (always screws up my price protection form  ). I have a last name like McIverson and they spell it Mc Iverson. Could this be causing your problem? If so, it's super easy to fix the missing cruise part of your problem.
Good luck!
This is exactly what happened! Thank you so much for sharing this because I never would have figured this out! Thank you thank you thank you! The other cruises they went on were booked by a TA so I had no idea that their name had been entered wrong. Now I just have to call Carnival to figure out how to get the account numbers associated with the correctly spelled last names on the new booking.

Might I suggest looking at your parents' email history? They would have been receiving the VIFP Connection newsletter as well as sale advertising. Any email they have in old mail, or in saved mail, if they saved any, would have their VIFP # as well as how many points they have. Even if they deleted them, they could still be in the trash. I would check those. Good luck!
I didn't even think of this. Thank you!!!

This could absolutely be the problem! They are a McKoy kind of last name. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!!

For an Alaskan cruise I recommend an aft facing balcony. Also, if you really are interested in seeing the wildlife while cruising you will probably want to be on the public decks so you can move around to see things on both sides of the ship as they are announcing any wildlife in the area. We actually spent less time on our balcony during our Alaska cruises.
Glacier Bay is beautiful, but the small boat excursion into Tracy Arm is an incredible experience as well.
Have fun!!!

Do they have any of their sail and sign cards. That would be proof.
They don't still have them- but this is a good reason to keep the sail and sign cards I suppose :-)

Do they have any of their sail and sign cards. That would be proof.Call back and ask to speak to a PVP or a supervisor.
You were more than likely talking to a CSR and often they have limited capacity to find and correct things. These are like your first line tech support, they tell you repeatedly to reboot your computer, when you know darn well that is not going to fix the problem...
I suggest you request a PVP and then have them fix the booking.
I highly doubt Carnival lost their history, it is possible, but unlikely.
Thank you for the advice. I guess that will be my next step.

Can you login on Carnival? My past cruises show up there. I haven't booked Carnival in 5 years and when I just booked PVP had all my cruises show up.
I logged into the account I had set up for my dad for their last Carnival cruise which was in 2011. His name is there, but the entire history is gone. It shows no points and no cruises. Even the VIFP number is blank. It is the oddest darn thing.

So I just booked my parents on a Carnival cruise (it will be their 4th) and I could not find their VIFP number through the web site. I called, but the agent could not find any record of them as past guests and just assigned them new numbers. He also couldn't find any record of their past cruises. I did manage to get them booked, but they have no credit for past cruises and the agent said they would just have to start over.
Has anyone else had this happen? I don't have their past booking numbers, but I do have the ship names and sail dates. I am wondering if there is any way to get their past cruise credits back.

I would take a Vista Suite over any other cabin. But it would have to be a deck that had the separate living and bedroom areas.

I think the 0930 out of Miami would be much too early. Maybe if it was a smaller airport and you didn't have to check bags...

The instant the muster drill is over!
Cheers and happy cruising.
Agree!

It makes sense that Carnival would not pay him more because there is already an employment contract in place. But I agree that he would potentially getting more money from gratuities.

Thank you for sharing this. It sounds terrible- it is ironic how happenings in the life of a stranger send rippling changes and feelings into the lives of others.

I love these stories!!! They are wonderful and for some reason I thought meeting a long term friend (or more) on a cruise was something that never happened.
And for Mr. Grumpy Pants, I posted on the Carnival board because I met the person I am looking for on a Carnival cruise. I had an e mail but haven't been able to find it in my unpacking endeavors.

Ok then- Oregon Guy who will never read this- I am interested. Told you to look for me here! This is hosed over 2016 Texas girl!

I have had the worst luck cruising this year. First my friend cancelled on me last minute for a cruise out of Texas. Then I planned a cruise to make up for it starting a week and a half ago and my fiancé decided he found someone better a few days before the cruise. I went on the cruise anyway because I had never been to Alaska and thought "what the hell". I was pretty on guard with any jerks approaching me because I had just been dumped. Then this guy cruising with his whole family started talking to me. Granted I will probably never talk to them again, but it actually made me feel more alive. An Alaskan trip by yourself is pretty lonely so I know I am sounding ridiculous. But has anyone actually met anyone on a cruise that they kept in touch with?

What a Story. Glad you got some cash and were able to take a vacation. Would love to know the name you you pinned on your former friend . I know what I would call her. But I want to remain a CC Member
This is funny because I can't even think the word in my head. Even in my head I can only think " the C word". No wonder nobody takes me seriously if I can't even swear in my own head.

FTTF means your cabin is ready. If you checked bags they will get there sooner than others but not as soon as you are in the cabin.
-
I think I would- I have a medical condition that pretty much dictates I need a balcony room and pretty much means I can't be by cigarette smoke. So yes I would have to say something.

However I would have loved to go on Judge Judy. Only she probably would have just pointed out how stupid I was. Anyway my oldest niece is turning 18. Ideas for the best cruise to take her on for a present?
-
I agree- none of this is Carnival's fault. I never meant to criticize the cruise line. This is in no way on the company. I was stupid and my friend is a word I can't write here. It is fine- just another opportunity for me to work on my emotional IQ.

Thank you all! I would not try to take a ha cabin just for this purpose. And I loved my first Disney cruise that this is not a deal breaker. Next time I will book towards the front and get a spa pass !

I usually feel it for about 3 or 4 days when I get off a smaller ship or off a choppy cruise. On the Dream and on our Alaskan cruise I didn't feel it at all.
