Ok everyone, thanks for your input. I have talked to my friend since I posted the question the first time. We are set to sail this Sunday to Cozumel, Belize and Honduras. He was called by "security" last friday and was told due to some port laws he is unable to board and will be given a full refund. I did ask what port law he gave me a vague excuse and said he had the same problems when going to and from Canada. This guy has a passport and explained to them that and was told he still could not board but that he could go by air. The reason I asked originally was is because I have never heard of this before and just seem odd. I believe he is not telling me everything which is well with in his rights and respect his privacy. I was just curious to what would be the reason and if anyone had experienced this sort of thing before. They are still going on vacation to Playa de Carmen but flying and we will meet up there this week. Thanks for all the info and some of you are very funny!

Well my friend said he was denied to board due to some port laws. He told them that he had his passport and was still told he was not able to go. Which he thought was weird considering he had been to the countries we are sailing to already before. Which made him a little upset was they waited till the friday before we sail to notify him of this. I asked him if he had a criminal record and such he had told me was arrested once but it was dissmissed. So he still isn't sure what the law is that is prohibiting him to sail

I am waiting on their response I will let you all know if I find out. I know he has some medical issues though. He already has a passport. So who knows

I got a problem hoping to get it resolved. I have a group going on a cruise in Oct. out of Galveston for my graduation and a wedding(not mine) and one couple couldn't go due to financial reasons. They booked a balcony cabin and the final payment is due Monday which is 1085.00 for 2 person cabin. I would hate to give up that cabin but I don't know what to do. I have people interested in it but with the final payment due on Monday that is kinda hard for some. I have been told that we could down size the cabin to IS or OV. I just don't know what I should do.

I'm wondering if my TA is doing the same. We booked a group and got 16 cabins so that should be 2 free berths correct, well he is telling me that it won't be available until we get back from our cruise which makes no sense.

What are the perks for doing a group cruise.

Thank you for the advice

Ok everyone I need help putting together a pacing list for some newbies. Is there anyplace I can find some sort of list I can't think of everything. I know I am forgetting something.

Thank you for all your advice. I have booked with a Ta and got a great deal better than the groups dept at Carnival was giving me. He has gone over and beyond in handling my group!

Is it true that we can bring our own alcohol on board now?

Just want to ask a question. I am trying to put a cruise together and trying to decide if I want to do a group cruise or just have everyone do individual bookings. In the past when I have done groups we would have a good discount and some good perks but today when I called and priced each one the individual rate is much better minus the perks. The groups were like $130 more per person for 1 and 2 person and $30 more for 3rd there is a cabin credit of $50 -$75 allowed for the cruise, also the free birth is a plus. We have about 15-20 cabins filled. So my question is should I even bother with groups or have everyone call and book individuals and link to our booking? Need some advice.
