  1. We were on the Beyond for our Mediterranean cruise in 2022 when they had the pride party at sea.  Our ship was not the one with the anchor party.  The celebration was a dance party on the pool deck at around 10:30 pm one evening with a DJ and a performer who did a live set.  It was well announced on the daily bulletin and the electronic marque.  There were not many gay people on the cruise (or at least we did not meet many).  The party had probably close to a 1000 people at its height and was predominately not gay.  Nevertheless, we all had a good time with dancing and party favors provided by the crew.

We cruised on The Flora in March of 2023 and yes absolutely khakis and khaki shorts are appropriate.  Some people dressed up more, but your shorts idea with a collared shirt would be entirely appropriate.  You will not be turned away.

Since it is an expedition-style cruise and not a regular cruise, a more relaxed dress code is acceptable.

When I was on the Flora this past August, most men wore pants but shorts were definitely OK.
    enjoy!

Thanks for the dress code info.

FYI if you are booked with a TA not all TA's participate in Move Up.

Thanks to the link provided by bajathree, I can always check on it myself even if my TA does not notify me although he has been very good with us with all our past travel.

1)It used to be four weeks but is now 21 days-ish.

    2) As long as you have enabled emails from Celebrity and have an eligible booking, you should get an email around the 21 day mark.

    Thanks for the info.

  5. I would appreciate some information about the Celebrity MoveUp Offer.  I assume that MoveUp offers will only be available if some suites have not been booked.

    1. How far ahead before each actual cruise will Celebrity start the MoveUp bidding?
    2. Will the  MoveUp Offer announcement be sent to all passengers by email?

    Thanks.

  6. We have five cruises booked for 2022 - all on Celebrity.  They are as follows:

Celebrity Apex (1/15/22 - 1/22/22 Puerto Rico, St. Thomas & St. Kitts)

Celebrity Beyond (4/27/22 - 5/7/22 Maiden Voyage to Western Europe)

    Celebrity Edge (6/25/22 - 7/9/22 B2B Italy, France & Spain)

    Celebrity Summit (10/3/22 - 10/15/22 Boston, Maine & Canada)

Let us know if anyone else is booked on any of those cruises.

  7. Neither one of us has posted any  vacation video.  I am glad that we look like someone who has done that.  Figuring out my camera with all its bells and whistles for photography is currently where my level is at. 🙂

Thanks for the info, Terry.  I'll ask the on-shore concierge about the Magic Carpet dinner to see if we can reserve that before we board.  Do you have any other intel on that event--dress code (windmill style?🙃), type of food, etc?

Sorry. I do not have any additional info on the Magic Carpet dinner. Let us know after you cruise if you get to do that dinner. I’d be very interested to learn more about it for our next opportunity to try it.

  9. Peanut Head--

We have done the Chef's Table on a number of Celebrity Cruises and they have all been fantastic.  It seems like that the arrangement has changed a bit since our last cruise (Dec. 2019 on the Edge for one of their two inaugural cruises).  It used to be that Chef's Table would not be announced until we would be on board and that a wine pairing would be included instead of seemingly now being an option.  All our dinners have always been a fantastic experience (with accommodation both for my seafood allergy and Michael's pescatarian needs).  The wine pairing had always been wonderful selections not otherwise available from drink and/or wine packages.   Also, there was one special dinner (weather permitting) that was served on the Magic Carpet hoisted at the highest point of the ship (not the usual Level 5).  It was all sold out by the time we wanted to book it (a few hours after we got on board on Day 1).  Enjoy your cruise and Chef's Table.

I hate to tell you, but our borders probably won't be open to International Tourists by then. Our national Covid vaccination program has just hit a major snag, our borders won't open till everyone in our country is vaccinated, this has been pushed back to Mid 2022 at this stage.

Thanks for the info.  Sorry about the vaccination program snag in Australia.  The cruise is still nearly a year away.  We will wait and see, and hope that things look better everywhere by then.

  11. Celebrity Eclipse March 26, 2022 - Great Barrier Reef

My partner (Michael) and I live in the Los Angeles (Encino) area.  We have just booked this cruise for March 2022 from Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef.  It will be our first cruise since late 2019 before the pandemic.  We cannot wait 🙂

We are hoping to meet other LGBT folks on this cruise.  Let's start connecting on this Roll Call if you are planning to be on this cruise.

Take care and stay healthy, everyone.

We'll be onboard this Sunday too... have been watching the build all along, and now reading reviews!  Looks to be an incredible adventure.  We booked with Pied Piper, have done several other cruises with them.  It's always a fun group.

I'm guessing the Martini Bar will again be the place to be.  We usually do Aqua (for Blu), but are in a Concierge cabin this time, right near the Magic Carpet on 12.  Should be fun.

Lots of negative comments so far from current cruisers, but also some very good reactions overall.  Hope to try a couple of the main dining rooms, and we're booked one night for dinner in Eden. See everyone soon!  -Ray 😉

    RaynJeffnOhio--

Looking forward to meeting you guys at the Pied Pipers events on board - if not before.

  13. Hi, All—

Michael and I were with Pied Piper for our Celebrity Rio Carnivale Cruise earlier this year. In fact, we booked the upcoming cruise on the Edge while on the Rio cruise. We were told by the staffer from Pied Piper who was with us that between 200 to 300 had already signed up for our cruise on the Edge at that time. Of course, that number will change (up or down) when the time comes closer. It was our first experience with Pied Piper. The advantage was that we had some private receptions, a bridge tour, and a backstage tour (with some of the gay performers). We, however, did not find them very attentive in terms of servicing our booking prior to the cruise - such as not hearing from them at all until it was close to cruise time and they wanted us to pay up the balance. We have signed up with them this time but we generally go through our TA.

We will be in Aqua Class on Level 9 on the Edge. It sounds like that there are others from this Board who will be doing the same. Keep us posted.

  14. My partner (Michael) and I have booked on this cruise while we did the Rio Carnaval cruise on Celebrity Infinity in February of this year. We understand that Pied Piper have already booked quite a number of people on this cruise. So, there will likely be a pretty big LGBT presence. We are very excited about this new ship. Looking forward to meeting everyone from this Roll Call on board.

  15. I posted this on the other posting same topic:

There is a Pied Piper gay group going on that cruise. Looks like previous group had around 50 people on it.

They host private pre-dinner cocktail parties each night open only to those booked through them.

They also arrange for dinner seating together at group tables.

Their pricing is the same or slightly cheaper than with the cruise line. If you haven't booked through them and are interested in access to the cocktail gatherings I think you can have an existing booking transferred to them.

    Hope this helps.

    Bon Voyage !

Thanks for the info. We have already signed up with Pied Piper on this cruise. We are about to pay the balance, and are really looking forward to this cruise.
