  1. We will be visiting St. Thomas, basically, just for the morning.  We want to see the synagogue on Crystal Gade.  Is this in walking distance from the cruise port?

If we do not want to go to the beach, what are some other sites you can recommend.  If we just want to do a little shopping, is there an area that has a lot of shops?

Someone mentioned taking an "open air" shuttle around town.  Can this be found at the cruise terminal?

I have never been to St. Thomas and would appreciate any recommendations for our short visit.

    Thank you.

  2. I have never been to Tortola, so I would appreciate suggestions. I am bringing my 85 year old parents.  They are mobile enough to climb a few steps up a bus or boat and walk for short periods of time.  They are not fond of going to the beach, so I was thinking maybe a half day tour of the island.  Is there a tour company that would drive us around by either car or boat and maybe stop at a couple of sights?  Are there sights that may be of interest without going up/down steep hills on foot?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  3. Does anyone know if any of the mini suites on Breakaway have the PrivaSea balconies.

I am thinking of booking my parents on a sail-away mini suite, but they would not be happy with a PrivaSea balcony.  Looking at the deck plans, I did not see the symbol, but just want to know if anyone has first hand experience.

    Thank you.

  4. I have never been to Barcelona and am looking for recommendations for a restaurant that serves breakfast early.  i.e. 7:00 - 7:30 am.  Most of the restaurants I have found do not open until 8:30 - 9:00, and our tours start around that time.  We will be staying near the Universitat metro station.  If anyone can recommend a place to eat (besides our hotel) I would GREATLY appreciate it.  Thank you very much.

  5. We are looking into taking a Viator excursion that goes to Kingsbarns Distillery and St. Andrews.

If you have taken a tour of Kingsbarns or the Old Course, we would appreciate your opinions.

Also, we will have free time in the town of St. Andrews. Any suggestions of what to see or where to have lunch would be appreciated.

    Thanks so much.

  6. We will be spending a few days in Amsterdam before our British Isle cruise in June. We are thinking of taking a day to go the The Hague and Delft. In addition to the pottery tour, what is recommended to see in these two towns?

We will also be taking a day trip to Zaanse Schans. Any other nearby towns that are a "must see"?

In Amsterdam we will be doing the usual museums, parks, canal tour, etc.

Thank you so much for recommendations. We have never been to Amsterdam before and we appreciate everyone's opinion.

  7. We have never been to St. Thomas and will be on a Celebrity cruise in Dec. Hours are 8:00 am - 5:00pm. Husband wants to snorkel. Beaches offered on shore excursions include Honeymoon Beach, Sapphire Beach, Turtle Cove, Trunk Bay and Abi Beach.

What are your opinions on each of these locations?

In additional to snorkeling, we would like to do a little exploring and/or shopping on our own. Are there any "do not miss" sites?

Thanks so much for your opinions.

  8. Thank you for all the VERY HELPFUL information.

Pencruise, hope you are enjoying yourself on the Vision. Glad to hear it is still a great ship.

We have decided that we will skip Brussells and go to Brugge. I saw on-line a bus that runs from Zeebrugge to Brugge called "Cruise Express". Leaves right from the dock. Round trip ticket is 20 Euros. Has anyone used this company before?

Please keep all the suggestions coming. This is new territory for us and really appreciate learning from everyone's experience.

  9. We are looking at a 12 night British Isle Cruise on Vision in June 2017. We have never been to Brussels, Scotland or Ireland.

In Brussels and Inverness the shore excursions offer an on-you-own type excursion but charge approx. $50 - $80 per person for the bus rides into town. Is it possible (and safe) to take some type of public transportation or taxi into these towns from the ports on our own?

We are also in need of recommendations for lodging on our own pre-trip in Amsterdam.

Any comments regarding Vision of the Seas would also be appreciated.

    Thanks so much, everyone.

  10. We will be taking our first cruise on Celebrity in February on the Constellation. It is a 5 day Western Caribbean cruise with stops at Key West and Cozumel. Does anyone have the daily activity sheets for this cruise?

We have been on Royal many times, and I am looking for the equivalent of the Cruise Compass. I would also be interested in hearing everyones comments about the Constellation. I haven't found much information regarding this ship or itinerary.

Thanks so much for any input.
