  1. One day this debacle will make a great case study - on how to destroy a Brand. As a retired Marketing & Advertising professional, one of the first things you learn is that a consumer's relationship with a brand is predominantly an emotional one. Free internet and laundry consolidate the emotional attachment unlike Azamara Joel's cold theoretical analysis! I read somewhere that Azamara trialled these "enhancements". I can only assume that the they trialled them with the company's Financial people and not cruisers like us. This thread is testament to that observation as I'd say that there is universal condemnation of the "enhancements". Oh, and I notice that Larry has been silent on Twitter these last few days. No more little ditties on customer satisfaction eh Larry?

We are back with Oceania in November and it's just been announced that NCL have taken them over! Just can't win.

  2. A depressing read. Not sure what complementary extra nights is all about? $199 per person upgrades means just assigning unused staterooms but the killer is no free laundry or internet. These were small things but tangible giveaways which psychologically made one feel great about Brand Azamara. My loyalty will be severely stretched now as the Azamara Difference has been compromised!

  3. Mr. Pimentel is on twitter most days....You would think either he or some one from AZ could take a few minutes to read these boards every few days.

I was in communication with Mr. Pimental yesterday on Twitter and made him aware of the comments on this thread. He monitors the site and will organise a Q&A with us on Cruise Critic if people would like it. He is very approachable.

  4. Just got the email here.

It clearly says one bag of dry cleaning per stateroom and that the Champagne Brunch is only on voyages over 10 nights.

So a backward step IMO. :(

We were on the Journey in November and we're only given one laundry voucher per week for the Stateroom. In the past we were given one voucher each per stateroom and so, I queried this with the representative on board. She said that it had always been the case that a laundry voucher per stateroom per week was on offer and did not agree that it was per passenger. As it was sufficient for us, I could not be bothered to argue.

I received the email about the new levels last week here in the UK and was surprised by the content as there was no difference in the top three tiers and did not see anything about new benefits would be announced later in the year. It strikes me that we have been relegated from the top tier but at the same time can understand that Azamara would want to incentivise us to cruise more with them by offering an enhanced package of benefits. But to have stimulated all this negative comment on Cruise Critic does not strike me as a very professional approach!
