Yes, there is a lever to move that will put the scooter in "neutral". It is usually on the back wheels. I carry a heavy duty door stop to hold the door open while I drive through. The cabin stewards have them, but they're not always around and don't always have extras. For your own peace of mind, practice at a local store or mobility store. Scooters do not have brakes and don't always steer like you think they would. Enjoy your cruise! Barb

And you can remove the battery. Be aware the battery is very heavy so you may not be able to do it by yourself.

I have seen these scheduled and have been tempted to attend. Now maybe I will go and see what it's like. Hope I'm not the only woman vet there...it would be nice to network with another one.
USN, 1971-78
Please go! It has been a few years since I was the only woman there.

The beds are pretty much standard height....I guess they will put risers on the legs of the frame, if you ask.
Just off Grandeur. Bed was lowest I've ever seen. Cabin attendant installed some sort of riser between bed frame and mattress. Barb

Can I fit my luggage under the bed?
NO!! Barb

With all the things the IT folks should be working on, this must have been the most important to them. What difference does it make when I start the on-line check-in? Barb

Everyone is going to get on the ship. If boarding with your family is important, wait until they can board and go with them. I am happy to be getting on the ship before it sails.

You just have to keep liking for them. Sometimes the discount only lasts a few days. The last two I have gotten have been 35% discount. Maybe it's because we don't cruise at really busy times. Barb

May or may not be related to other issues. Got email yesterday. followed link, selected "print documents" and printed the pages I wanted. I never print the whole thing. It worked for me yesterday. Barb

I messed up my ribs while on a ship. Most help came from alternating heat and cold on the area every couple hours or so. I'd take ziplock bags for ice and a hot water bottle for heat. Barb

Another vote for THANKS to the folks who maintain this spreadsheet. Barb

RCI will not send your documents unless you have paid for them. Go to your "my cruises" account on their website. On the right hand side of this reservation will be an area that notes cruise documents - "issued" or "not issued". If they have been issued, you click on that button and it takes you to an area that you can choose to view or print the documents. The print selection brings up a PDF document. You can save it on your computer and/or print the pages you want. You do not need the documents to board the ship. You need the set-sail pass, passport and credit card. Hope this helps. Barb

Hope it is a blip. Got same text regarding Dec sailing. Barb

If your itinerary indicates you will arrive at 7:00am, it is ship time. Barb

My experience has been that the luggage tag "button" on SetSail Pass page does not appear until the cruise docs are issued. Also, the docs seem to be somewhat delayed if I am using Choice Air. Maybe just a coincidence. Barb

My husband likes to be called by his initials. After the first day those you contact every day will know how to address you (if you tell them). There will be some you deal with only once and they will call you by the name that comes up on their screen. Barb

Thanks, XXOO! Knew I could count on you. Barb

Are the accessible cabins included in the rotation of bed by balcony/bed by closet? Does it make a difference in maneuvering in the cabin? Barb

Just noticed there are E1cabins on Dec 6 and Dec 13 going for almost half off (military disc). The ship does the Caribbean from New Orleans. Just in case anyone is interested! We will be on board and I was just price-checking. Barb

We were in Cabin 1600 at the aft of the ship and the medical facility is on deck 2 forward - so it was amazing to me how quick she arrived after my call.
I think the medical folks have a "key", similar to firefighters, that locks out all other elevators and gives them priority to the floor they select.
I have seen medical called many times on RCI and the response has always been very quick. Any officer or crew with a radio calls for medical assistance.

I usually get good service from either desk. Have used both at various times. Barb

Can new cruise NOT be assigned to travel agent of current cruise? I don't want to use this travel agent for future cruises but I want lower deposit and OBC. Thanks, Barb

Yes, work outside purse or suitcase. I bought a mesh bag at Walmart (Target, K-mart?) and use one of those closable hook things to attach it to my day bag or purse or belt. Works great. Barb

But bring the Frio as backup. I've been on Royal ships that did not have enough working fridges for everyone that requested one! Barb

Yes, this was standard. We did it in 1983 on the Song of Norway. Took long bus ride to ruins, had box lunch from ship at a large park, another long bus ride and ferry to Cozumel. Ship didn't depart until late at night. I have my first pictures of the ship all lit up at night from this trip. Agree--- great memories. Barb
