  1. DW and I have been to the steakhouse twice, once on the Dream, and once on the Liberty...both times, we paid nothing as this was a benefit of moving to the Diamond VIFP level...we both felt that the food was just average in taste, and the service a bit above average from what you would receive in the MDR...also, we decided that we would not invest $70 into an "average" meal that was already available in the MDR and/or Lido buffet

  2. Just got the "upgrade fairy" call who offered to upgrade us to a "Grand Suite" on on February 17th sailing on the Ecstasy. Party of 3 people. Seemed liked a decent deal so we grabbed it--it was the only Grand Suite left apparently. My understanding is that this particular room is also considered a handicap accessible room. Does anyone else have any particular details about this room? 4 days to go before we set sail!

Unfortunately, this is not the "prime time" grand suite on this ship...we were almost suckered into the same upgrade...however, having sailed on this ship many times, and had the room steward give me a quick tour of the cabin, my DW said that no way would she ever stay in that cabin, even if it was free...it would be great for someone that is wheelchair bound, but that's it

  3. DW and I just got off the ship this morning...ours being the last round trip cruise for the Ecstasy out of Port Canaveral...being a Diamond member, we had an opportunity to ask the officers about their trip out of this port at the private Diamond cocktail party...they told us that it will be just staff aboard, and that the ship was scheduled to leave @ 12 noon today bound for Miami, and that they will be in Miami tomorrow morning for their first cruise out of that port...they said that they have some fun stuff planned for the entire crew today and tonight...bet they are going to have a blast with no passengers on board!!!

  4. My dh and I have been to both islands and we believe both are truly worth a visit. we are not "beachy" people so I can't answer about their beaches, but Curacao is beautiful. And Aruba was totally different than we thought it would be. Very much a desert environs. we took island tours on both places to get a feel for them. Also, In Aruba, we were there late into the evening and we went to the casino and won $800! so maybe that influences our memories a little.lol. Check out the excursions available for both to see what appeals to you. I'm sure you will be pleased to visit both!

What is the name of the casino and where is it located in relation to where the ship is docked...

  5. I have $450 onboard credit. Where does that show up in my account on carnival's website? I can see it on my booking confirmation that my travel agent sent.

    Thanks!

First, setup your login info on CCL's website...then, login and click on "Manage"...this will allow you to access your current bookings...click on "Booking Number"...after main page for your booking comes up, click on "View Documents"...click down until you see the "Invoice" page, and your OBC will be list there

  6. I am getting passports for me, my wife and daughter for our cruise which departs March 15th, 2014. How long will it take on average to get the passports?

    Thanks!

Check with your passport office as the answer could be somewhat subjective as the result of the past gov shutdown

  7. My family has found ourselves in an interesting situation. We are booked on the Fascination leaving in 8 days but...if my sons win their football playoff game this coming Friday, we won't be boarding the Fascination! I'm sooooo excited that my boys are heading into the second round of the state playoffs, but also kinda bummed that we might not be joining my extended family on the cruise.

I figure it's a win-win situation...if they win, they are one game closer to the championship, and if they lose we get to go on a cruise! And the good news is that when we booked, we purchased "cancel for any reason" insurance for this exact reason.

    Go Beaufort Eagles!

DW and I will definitely root for your Beaufort Eagles as Beaufort, SC brings back many special memories for us...we got married at the Cuthbert House on Bay St. June, 2007...and, we go back at least twice a year to celebrate our anniversary in June (at the Cuthbert House), and April when we got engaged...again we will definitely be rooting for you guys

  8. So, my 9th and 10th cruises (on Carnival) are on Legend, B2B ending before the 31st. (Dec) Will I be recognized as Platinum on the second leg? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

Yes (I would, however, confirm your Platinum status with guest services on your first leg)

  9. My DW and myself have been true to Carnival (nearly 50 cruises); however, after looking at the new "higher" prices on both the Liberty and Sunshine for the fall of '15, we are seriously considering switching to RCCL...we, almost exclusively, sail out of Port Canaveral, and for the money and ship amenities, RCCL highly exceeds Carnival...this is sad for us as Carnival has been our only cruise line for years
