  1. Had my first Moderna vaccine 12/24 and had arm soreness and body achiness for 2 days. Just had my second dose 1/21 and arm soreness and body achiness first 24 hours then had symptoms of the flu for the next 36 hours(fever, headache, body aches severe, and fatigue) . Took 4 hour nap in the middle of the day and I never nap. Symptoms now gone

  2. I find it interesting that people will not cruise until a vaccine for COVID-19 is available. Having been a physician for 30+ years there have been many virus issues and they will continue. I agree everyone should be cautious but cruising is inherently risky regarding infectious diseases due to the close quarters and unsanitary practices of our fellow cruisers. Think Norovirus which has no vaccine and seasonal flu viruses which get missed by the CDC vaccine choices every year. I have even heard that COVID-19 may be mutating quickly which will make a vaccine difficult.

  3. Glad you enjoyed your cruise. The crew were excellent on our cruise last month and some of the entertainment, but overall food was disappointing and ship shows its wear(more than we were expecting and we were expecting a lot)Had a very relaxing cruise but my wife and I will not be sailing her again. Different experiences  and different strokes for different folks.

  4. Just back from Rhapsody yesterday. We last cruised her 20 years ago, so was prepared for wear and were not disappointed. I realize that cruise ships go out every week and it is difficult to maintain them at sea, but we were astonished at the corrosion and bubbling paint in very obvious places. The wear of the furnishings was noticeable also. We were told at the captain's corner that she will go in for maintenance soon but will not get any enhancements. Were told separately that the Vision Class will probably be replaced by somewhat larger ships but small enough to allow use of ports(like Tampa) that will not allow much larger ships. This will occur in the next half dozen years. The food in the main dining room was disappointing with prime rib served blue, steaks half gristle,  vegetables barely cooked, and tasteless desserts. Lunch in the Windjammer now seems to feature hamburgers and hot dogs instead of having them as a possible option. Went to Giovanni's and food there was good if you choose the right items( go with servers recommendations). The Kinetic Band in the Centrum was excellent and played a wide variety of music. Did not go to the theater as nothing there appealed. My opinion only but it seems the staff is stretched thin and always seem in a hurry, overall they were pleasant and very willing to help. Overall disappointed in this particular cruise but found gems like our cabin steward(Oscar), the Kinetic band and the relaxation factor that made it enjoyable. Will probably be saying farewell to Vision Class for any future cruises with Royal Caribbean.

  5. Anyone remember the $35 fee to join Captain's Club back in the day? Our first cruise on Celebrity was on Horizon in the mid 1990's to southern Caribbean out of San Juan when you could buy a bottle of booze on the pier and take it onboard. We went with friends and their two youngest boys and a single female friend(known to some of the bar waiters as the "blonde American woman") and had a wonderful time meeting back at dinner to discuss our days activities with great food and service with some tableside services(Caesar salad, crepe Suzette, and cherries jubilee). Their youngest son would fall asleep at the table because we ate at the late seating. Our last Celebrity cruise was 7 years ago when we were told by the activities manager that we were not the demographic they were looking to attract( 50 + year old DINKs) but wanting young singles and couples in their 20s and 30s. Have decided to go on another Celebrity cruise due to itinerary and timing and hope for the best. Love this thread regarding the nostalgia of old ships and long-gone services and food quality.

  6. Sorry I have not been back to respond but having internet issues. We did not talk to staff as we had chairs but felt bad for others who were looking and we knew that the people next to us had not used their chairs for several hours. I know it is not my job to remove items and try to be non-confrontational when possible. Was mostly commenting on the new Technique(to me) they were using. These two people also took their towels to the chairs in the sun but left their bags on the chairs in the shade. We also give up our chairs if going to be gone for more than 1/2 hour.

  7. Just back from Freedom OTS 4/28/18 cruise and chair hogs in full force in Solarium. No one removing items/towels from chairs not sat in by human for several hours. The new low was pair of CHs who left their bags on two chairs in the shade and proceeded to go to their chairs in the sun on another part of the ship. They never sat in the shade chairs but did come back a couple of times to get items from their bags. We sat next to these chairs for 5 hours and there were people looking for chairs constantly. The sign saying they would remove items from abandoned chairs was almost directly in front of us.
