  1. We were on a HAL cruise that was leaving Ft. Lauderdale while everyone was on deck for the muster drill. A speedboat came flying by and one of the men nearer the rail noticed that the young 'lady' in the boat had dropped her bikini top and was flashing all of us on board. Naturally, he voiced what he saw and I think the poor crew member doing the drill was almost trampled as everyone ran to the rail for the view!

  2. This may sound a little strange, but we decided to "skip" the before cruise beach wedding, so we'd have more to spend on excusrsions or something special bought for our home or ourselves. We've both been married before, myself for 12 years, my fiance for 22 years. I had my big wedding, so we are doing hometown JP and saving our money for the honeymoon! :p

I think your plan is great !!!! Have a wonderfull wedding, fantastic honeymoon and and a delighful, loving life together !!!

  3. we've never had a surf & turf burger.

I can confirm however, that we still have our world famous surf & turf sandwich consisting of sliced grilled lobster and sliced filet mignon served on ciabatta bread and accompanied by hand cut truffle fries dusted with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

thank you, thank you, thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Guess we better not mention the surf & turf burger in Waves ;)

I thought that I had read in some post (sorry, don't know when or where on the boards) that the 'surf & turf burger' was no longer available. Please reassure me that I'm wrong! I really, really want to be wrong!!!

    TIA

  5. Thank you for all your advice!

We did a reconnaissance mission this weekend to Port Canaveral and our friend's condo where we'll be parking our car. Thank heavens we did this!!!!!!!!!!!! We are not dumb people; really, we're not. But, we somehow made an incorrect exit and spent quite a bit of time getting back on the road we were supposed to be on - we managed to do this not once, but twice! Amidst all this fun, I realized the E-pass red lights were not turning to green as we passed by (thereby, making me scramble into DH's wallet for toll charges - off & on, twice, plus the 'normal' ones) We had closed the credit card the E-pass was linked to because of it being lost and - of course! - forgot to add the new one to the E-pass account so it was shut off.

    But, the great news:

    1. Called AAATaxi and they seem very pleasant to work with.

    2. Have discovered that Port Canaveral is full of nice people. True to our weird abilities, we could not find the street to turn to our friend's condo. We realized as we saw the 'Welcome to Cocoa Beach sign' that we'd made another little traveling boo-boo. Turned around, still lost - stopped at a 7-11 to ask for directions and DH happened to ask a person who turned out to belong to the taxi parked out front. Bless his heart, he said 'just follow me' and had us follow him so he could wave out the window when we were at the street we needed to turn out. Shirley, God Bless your father!!

    3. Went for lunch (obviously, a rather late lunch) at Fish Lips - totally enjoyed what we ordered! Great staff.

Thank you, Shirley and Preston, for all your help!

  6. This totally off any subjects but if anyone is interested in getting our local newspaper which is the Florida Today on the coverage of our last shuttle launches, you can call them at 1-877-424-0156 and ask for details - I have always collected the newspaper of all the launches and my kids are still enjoying them after all these years. Good for the kids for show and tell, history, science or just to keep of the days that were.

    this is just a thought

What a great idea and so nice of you to inform us about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. You guiys are wonderful! The amount of information that you've compiled and the help you give are really appreciated.

I've copied your taxi info. and we'll probably use AAA or Yellow Cab.

We live in Longwood and may drive overr next weekend for a 'reconnaissance' mission and would love to have a great seafood lunch. I've been checking out your restaurant recommendations - do either of you have a favorite?

  8. A cab might be easier. That way you will not have to wait or possibly make any more stops. You will be very close so the taxi will not cost much. By the way do you mean Ridgewood?

Eeck!!! Yes, I should have written Ridgewood - boy, I can just myself giving a taxi co. wrong information - bye, bye cruise!!!

I'm a little confused on the taxi situation for the return. Do I understand from other postings that if we just happened to choose a taxi that was there at the port, the charge might be higher than if we called for one?

  9. If you are asking about Art's Shuttle, they do not exist as such any longer - they were purchased out by Travelynx which is a good company and reliable.

Did I answer your question or did I miss something and if I did, I am so sorry so just repost ok?

Thanks for your response Shirley. I checked on the Travelynx site and guess we'll try contacting them for an estimate. We will be parking our car at a friend's condo - Canaveral Sands Condo on Ridgeway - so, will need to be picked up there and transferred to where NCL docks at Port Canaveral and then, two weeks later, do the reverse. Do you think Travvelynx or one of the cab companies might be a better - promptness, cost -

  10. Hey there Preston - I am glad that you told me this and yes I do have a few listed, but the one that has become so popular for cost, driver's politeness, etc is AAA Taxi - I did check them out after I had done an update - they can email for information at info@aaataxionline.com or website at http://www.AAAtaxionline.com/

Since my dad was a cab driver many many years ago, I can understand the importance of losing in a place in line.

NOW this is only for taxi service for you do have other choices on post 862 for taxi and shuttles

Hope that this will help everyone

    Any opinions?
