Hi
Sailing on the Mayan Sol Itinerary on the Scarlet Lady - We're a foodie family of 4- open to all dining experiences and looking for ideas on which Specialty dining reservations we should make!
All the restaurants look great to us and the reviews also for the most part seem great too! So our question is subjective but we would love to hear from others what would be your preferred dining rotation and why? Looking also for recommended times due to length of meals in relation to evening shows (know already 1 restaurant per voyage). Which dining locations are better for days at sea, Bimini, and Sailaway days in your opinion? Any there any more 'formal' dining venues than others?
Thanks in advance !!

When I booked initially I was told that the 2 adjoining cabins we booked (both Brilliant suites) did have the capability and noted it on the reservation for our wish for us to have open connected balconies.

We’re due on Richard’s Birthday Bash 15th July... so has that cruise been canned?
I think according the the Virgin Voyages official page on Facebook that cruise is still on - happy for you - although they called it a 'showcase' cruise

I’m still not able to book port activities For April cruise, which were supposed to open December 12 for booking. Getting lackluster response from virgin Voyage to ”just wait it’s coming soon it’s coming soon” Has anybody heard anything?
Ditto - seems it is an issue with IT as well as just port 'shore thing' offerings to at least think about before we book! When I called I did ask them if they were going to notify us when things were up and running to book, but no real definitive answer - saying to check their website and APP (but that is not up yet either 😞 ) . Hoping we'll at least have a concierge type booking service to rely on as we have 2 suites booked for the inaugural cruise! Keeping us guessing but
I know everything in the end will work out for a wonderful cruise as it's Virgin!! 🙂

We're booked for the inaugural cruise - we're in our 50's and our kids are joining us (26 & 30) - so we're open for a great cruise although we're not crazy party animals - but open to try and experience anything - although I'm not into tattoos so that I'll pass on 😉 !

FYI:
Letter from Virgin Voyages regarding Cuba travel ban:
I personally would love an extra day on Virgin's Bimini Beach Club or a visit to Necker Island!! 😉

Yes, from those on board now.
One what site did you see this - can you include a link so we can keep up with reports of these problems?
Thanks!

Can I ask how you all found this information about the Viking Star? We are scheduled to board this Thursday, February 14th - and want to be kept up to date on what's going on between the mechanical issues and norovirus! Thanks!!

I'm presuming that we will find out about 5 oclock as that is typically when they have published stuff on Facebook
1700 GMT? or 5EST?

I have no idea if this is true, but someone posted on Facebook that we would receive an email tomorrow with an access code. We are supposed to call VV with that access code in order to book. They didn’t mention anything about being able to book online. I sure hope they post deck plans tomorrow!
Thanks so much - Now at least I might have an email to look forward to tomorrow! !! Hopefully there we'll be able to see the deck plans and fares too! 🙂

Hi!
Does anyone know how we book a cruise tomorrow and what do we need? Is there a contact number and start time booking opens up, and what we will need to quickly determine what cabin, etc.....? So hard without knowing price, dates, location of cabins, and itineraries to book in advance!!!
Virgin Voyages we need more info !- Can't believe there is no info anywhere - just teasers!!

Hi!
Interesting first glimpses - hope the cruise fares come out soon! But does anyone else feel an Ikea/ Scandinavian vibe in all these cabins? I would expect this look more in a new NCL ship - I understand the ambiance they are going for - but I expected it to be Fun & Refined with a touch of British flair, not just a Union Jack or an expand Virgin Club lounge area - We are very much looking forward to cruising with Virgin Voyages, however I think we're leaning more towards the suites! 😉

We just came off the Quantum a week ago - and I still have to make a trip report! But wanted to tell you and everyone else that Jamie's Italian restaurant was hands down the best all around on our cruise - so make sure to eat there. Even lunch there was a line for stand by seating (they do not take reservations for lunch) and get there 20-30 min before they open as a long line develops before they start serving- at least on our cruise! Servers and even our concierge said that they should have made that restaurant much bigger due to the popularity of Jamies. Make sure you get the the charcuterie platters as an appetizer they are huge and fun for your table! Also the pasta is made in house and you can really taste the freshness which is unusual on a shipboard restaurant (btw, for lunch most of the menu is the same - although the truffle pasta dish is not available)!! :)

Hi!
We are going on a family cruise (approx. 40 people including 10 kids) and arriving in Nassau in the morning 9am - 5pm (however group would like to leave for a shore activity about 11am until 4 pm). Looking for some ideas on an activity/company to book as a group or charter that allows some to beach it/provide games/water activities as a group - perhaps on a cruise to an island/ all inclusive day pass for a private group/ or renting a large villa on the beach for the day - that's hopefully affordable and looking to book for November 2015 !! We can't wait to hear all your thoughts and ideas!! :)
Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for your great trip report as we are sailing on the Quantum in December!!
FYI, if you are thinking of seeing a show on Broadway - definitely checkout Broadwaybox.com for show discounts in advance, as it might be slightly easier than waiting on line outside at TKTS in the cold!! (although some might not be 1/2 price). BTW, if you do go to TKTS in Times Square definitely stop by 'Toys R Us' and the Disney Store with your darling daughter!!

Hi!
I'm also interested in the Marley Resort. However, I just started to call them for our upcoming trip next week yesterday after checking out their website along with the reviews here, and was looking forward to going there for a day pass/spa day - and there was no answer - googled them and Travel + Leisure website had a header above the article saying that they were closed for business! Can anyone verify this?
Thanks!! :)

Dressing for Shipboard events!
in Virgin Voyages
Posted
Ahoy!
Trying to figure out everything we need for our upcoming sailing! Besides Scarlet nights (wearing something semi-formal- think I will be wearing a Red jumpsuit and Red jacket for my husband), what other events should we dress for and how? Pajama party - do most people wear pajamas? or just are onlookers? Are there things we should pack for other certain nights? Thanks in advance for your help in packing!!
