  1. on our back to back Cruise from Feb 29. to March 26. the speed in our stateroom deck seven was fine for e-mail , Facebook , what's up etc, but a little bit slow for surfing and downloading.

  2. If / when one of our ships changes to another terminal at such short notice, eg while a cruise is underway, you can be sure it was not our decision, unless there was a safety / security issue at the originally scheduled terminal, which is not the case in Hong Kong. (Wow, that was a convoluted sentence, wasn't it, where's an editor when I need one?)

thanks, but to clarify, will AZ use the former city-terminal also again in the future or not?

imo, it makes a big difference.

  3. Greetings from Quest! We are currently waiting to get to Shanghai, so I thought I would take a few minutes to post my thoughts so far. We are having a great time!

our stop in Hong Kong will be at the remote terminal rather than in town and all hell broke loose, with poor Russ being the shot messenger. I will confess that we are very disappointed in that decision, but of course can't do anything about it. It was a decision made by Miami,

we enjoyed it very much docking in the old place, in the heart of the city.

very comfortable to walk into the city.

    Bonnie, why decide Miami this?

perhaps all cruise ships incl Azamara will dock in the future at the new terminal Kai Tak Terminal ,10 km away from the city.

we read all the informative post's given by Host Andy , thank him for spending so much time .

we think ,everything will run in a perfect way on board

greetings from cold and windy Germany .

  5. after some cruises with AZ and reading the negative comments about MDR we sailed recently with Europa 1 and Europa 2 and Oceania , we were very happy with the quality and varieties they offered on food.

Perhaps AZ can look at theirs menus you will find a lot of dishes with wow factors.

if you compare the prices for suites ,eg cc suite on AZ with 30 sqm and Europa 2 standard suite with 35 sqm , there is not a significant difference as stated by others in this forum.this is not the point on this matter.

AZ should simply turn back to the food quality and varieties we experienced in the past ,everything will be fine as an overall experience .

  6. i hope there will be also done reviews concerning the wines during the dry dock on the journey, so that we hopefully enjoy our 2 cruises on February /March ,as it was in the past.

no good reviews during the last months on this subjects.

  7. Hi Spursgirl, Prefdavid, et.al.,

I've just come out of an all day meeting here in the Miami offices and you'll be happy to know that our Discoveries Restaurant menus and our post-cruise surveys are both areas under review by senior management.

Your feedback is invaluable and timely.

QUOTE=uktog;48766414]No luck on Quest for that red. The brand Friends on Quest is a Sonoma Blended wine. They were not really keen to show us the bottle- remember how in the early days wine bottles were proudly displayed and staff could describe what they were serving. No longer the case.

I will do a review - just off Quest after 24 days but the wines were a big disappointment (as was the fact that we highlighted the issue on our details form each cruise each time we were assured the bar manager would call us, we are still waiting)

  8. What we have learned from this thread and others comments on cruisecritices, there are obviously more and more comments about degreasing quality and drastically reduced choices on food in the MDR.

Also read some complaints about decline the quality of the daily wine offering.

After cruising 5 times with Azamara, and two more booked cruises on journey in February and March 2016 we are beginning to worry about the recent comments about the decline in quality in Discoveries.

Overall, we were very satisfied with AZ up to now, the MDR food one the choices were normally more than acceptable in the past.

After cruising with German cruise ships “Europa”, “Europa2” and the Oceania R-Ships, e.g. Nautica we have experienced, that this lines offer overall very, very good varieties of food in the MDR and Buffets.

We think, it was, still is and should be a challenge for Azamara.

Otherwise AZ would not be regognized as a luxury cruise line as they stated and loose theirs loyal customer.

We appreciate that the Hotel Ops Team now will work on this matter and hopefully make adjustments.

Therefore we will give an example from the Oceania MDR menus, what they offer every day:

3 healthy living choices (appetizer, salad and main)

    5 appetizers

    2 soups

7 !!!!!Plus 2 more Main courses,

(1 grand salad, every day the same)

    1 pasta dish,

2 different kinds of meat and

    2 seafood/fish dishes and

    1 vegetarian choice,

    In addition:

    1 Asian style dish and

    1 more seafood /shellfish dish.

Besides this, they offer 3 Signature Dishes, repeating every day.

We hope that after reconsidering the menu we will enjoy the upcoming cruises with the journey as we did it in the past.

  9. now I understand , we'll arrive at Huatulco one day later , not on sat , the sailing itinerary yesterday shows it wrong

  10. I've heard the reason for the port change from our Director of Itineraries...

"Zihuatanejo sustained hurricane damage over a year and a half ago and they still haven't made repairs to the tender dock. Thus we are unable to call there at this time. Huatulco was the best alternative replacement in our schedule.

We are hoping that they (Zihuatanejo) get their tender dock repaired so cruise ships can return in the future."

as already mentioned by beachseeker the new port is farther south, why leaving now at 2 pm?

that means perhaps this port is not that interesting ?

  11. we fully agree

our decisions As loyal Azamara customers are as follow:

    we booked right now :

12 day cruise with Oceania (free internet starting in 2015)

12 day cruise with Europa 2

    bye bye Azamara

we are just back from our first cruise with Oceania nautica

we did it as answer of the unacceptable changes for club voyage members.

we enjoyed the cruise very much.

now we have one more alternative to Azamara, it depends on the route and the price which other cruises we will book for the future.

  12. Totally agree with you 'Spursgirl' and the majority of posts. My wife and I are fairly newcomers to cruising, in the past two years we have sailed three times with Azamara with a b2b on 'Journey' starting this Saturday from Barcelona but after that we are voting with our feet. I have instructed out TA to cancel two forthcoming booked cruises for next year with a full refund based on the changes to the loyalty programme. It's a real shame because we thought we had found our 'niche' in the cruising world having loved every minute with Azamara but now I find it hard to trust them and when that happens it's time to move on....maybe to Oceania.
