Does anyone know where you pickup and drop off car? Is it at the port or do you ride a shuttle somewhere offsite to pickup car?

Thanks for the info weltek. Our 2024 sailing will be our first time at GSC. Are all of the food places included in the fare? Do all of the bars accept the ship bar package?

$100 Carnival Gift Cards are currently available on AARP My Rewards

It's actually for my "I want to wing it" adult son...I thought I remembered from past cruises that there are vendors at the pier or port area for the "let's wing it" crowd. He's sailing Carnival Valor I think departing from Galveston this week. I know he's interested in jet ski rentals and/or 4-wheeler tour.

Are there vendors at the port selling excursions for Cozumel?

directions on how to get (even if you're not an AARP member...I'm only 36):

I’ve seen queries on this cabin so I thought I share my experience. Here’s a quick rundown of my and my husband’s opinion of cabin 2456.
Brief background: traveled with hubby, both in our early 50’s and neither of us are fussy about cruise cabins. We’re just happy to be on a cruise. I sleep like the dead while hubby is a light sleeper. Neither of us gets motion sick. We generally find engine type noise to be equivalent to white noise and therefore, it doesn’t usually affect our sleep. We have a travel trailer with a geni and sleep fine with it running. All of which led us to choosing this cabin knowing its location on the ship would have engine noise and ship movement. We took a 4 day cruise from Galveston to Cozumel and back over Thanksgiving.
The seas were extremely rough heading over to Cozumel. The first night of the cruise, the engine noise was loud in our cabin and we could feel a noticeable vibration (like rattling everything in the cabin including our teeth type of vibration). The cabin was also a bit warm for us. As you can guess, lots of movement could also be felt but that was true on the entire ship. On the return trip to Galveston, seas were calm and engine noise was greatly reduced with no noticeable vibration. The cabin became warmer each day and the last night was uncomfortable enough to affect our sleep. The cabin steward was responsive to our comments regarding the warm temperature of the cabin and did all he could to cool it down. He even brought us a fan without us specifically asking for a fan. We appreciated his attempts to make the cabin temp more comfortable for us. The size of the cabin is roomy with a really great layout that makes it easy for two people to move around without getting into each other’s way. We had friends in our cabin for a short visit and there was plenty space to sit and visit comfortably. The bed is under the window so in order to enjoy the ocean view, you have to sit on the bed facing the pillow end which was kinda awkward. There are 3 closets (2 with clothes rods and 1 with shelving) and a set of three drawers next to the dressing table. There is a large medicine cabinet in the bath. Overall, there is tons of storage space for clothes, toiletries and luggage. The location is convenient to the Paris dining room. We also didn’t hear any hall noise.
Overall, not a bad cabin, especially on calm sea days.

Does anyone know the cost of the Manatee Program if you decide to participate once you're already at Chankanaab?

Also, Galveston will be starting a new boarding "assignment" in November, around the 15th depending on the exact cruise dates. You will select your preferred boarding time from a list. When a time slot is "full", it won't be shown on the list. I believe the time slots are 30 minute intervals beginning at 10:30 AM.
On Monday, I just did the pre-check-in and printed my docs for our Nov 28th cruise on Carnival Freedom. I selected the second time slot, 11 to 11:30 AM. All slots were still available when I selected my time, however, this selection option just started (the new policy doesn't actually take affect till mid - November) and I expect once it is widely known, the early slots will be gone within days after pre-check-in starts for every cruise.
The explanation on the page says you will not be allowed into the terminal until your designated time. You will be accommodated if you arrive later than your time slot, just not earlier.
I guess no one paid any attention to the emails they used to send. I know I didn't.
Thanks for sharing this useful information - I don't think I would have been aware of this policy change otherwise since I've completed my check-in :)

I use hotel shower caps (or Dollar store 10/$1) to cover shoes to prevent any dirt or dust from transferring to the bag and clothing. I stuff the shoes with socks or underwear(in zip lock bags) to make the most of the available space.
Smooth Sailing ! :) :):) :)
I love this idea and I haven't heard it before. Thanks!

Has anyone used an Uber or Lyft recently from IAH (George Bush Intercontinental) to the Galveston port?
