  1. I'm having the same problem with the new app - A couple of months ago both my wifes and my status was shown as 'Green Lane".  I just went on the new app and it has been changed to 'Blue Lane' with the medallion order showing as incomplete.  Even though we have Princess Plus, it wants to charge us $10.00 ea. for shipping.  I'm not going to place the order because the same thing happened on our Ruby Princess cruise last May and my Visa was charged $20.00 then.  I went to Guest Services at that time and they didn't give me a credit, saying I would have to have my TA contact Princess (this was the older version of Princess Plus, but even at that time it included shipping).  Our upcoming cruise is in 15 days, and I had expected that our medallions should be showing up any day, but now that I see we're Blue Lane and there probably isn't any way to have them shipped before we leave, I guess our best bet is to wait in line with the rest of the herd checking in on embarkation day.  Princess really needs to get their act together as this seems to be a problem a number of others are having as well. Very disappointed...

  2. Having recently sailed on the Grand, we (a group of 3 cigar smokers) were looking forward to relaxing and having a nice cigar and a nightcap after dinner. Upon entering Snookers we immediately were overcome by the thick cloud of cigarette smoke in the bar. We actually had a hard time finding the one open table that was available - the others were all occupied by cigarette smokers.

The problem is that there doesn't appear to be a 'smoke-eater' air cleaner as found in many other cigar bars. Cigar smokers generally don't inhale their smoke and breathing all of the cigarette smoke in the room made us all light-headed (this obviously doesn't bother cigarette smokers). We had to leave, and since cigars are banned everywhere else on the ship, couldn't enjoy our cigars on the ship at all. We all ended up snubbing out three perfectly good $10.00+ cigars and walking out.

This 'cigar bar' is very poorly designed and unless Princess puts in a 'smoke-eater', they should consider making the bar a cigar-only bar. After all, cigarettes can be smoked throughout the casino and on designated areas of the outside decks. This is the only Princess ship that I have noticed all the smoke, so I'm assuming that the newer ships may have some sort of air cleaner in place.

  3. Ok, let me see if this makes sense. Princess is delaying boarding by hours so they can do a super thorough cleaning so, being the compassionate, understanding cruise line they are, they provide passengers with half-off tickets to an attraction that requires visitors to climb ladders that involves holding handrails that have been held by hundreds of other pre-cruise passengers who may or may not be carriers of the dreaded Noro?

Hmmmm. What is wrong with this picture:eek:

I don't understand your point - the Noro outbreak was on the Crown, NOT the destroyer. They are cleaning the Crown due to the known outbreak, prior to new passengers coming aboard (to keep them from being exposed to it). The threat of the visitors contracting Noro on the destroyer is no greater than their exposure that they had while traveling through the airports, boarding and traveling on the plane(s), or on a bus or in a cab on the way to the port. Walking around a non-contaminated ship with a group of non-contaminated visitors just doesn't seem like a huge risk to me... The most important thing is to get the Crown cleaned BEFORE the new passengers embark.

  4. I too had seen the size requirements for the land tour carry-ons. I'll be taking a smaller laptop and will have it in a backpack that I can fit under my seat. My concern is that i will also have a CPAP along that is in it's own case that is larger than the prescribed size (it's 6-7" tall). Since I really don't want to take a chance in it being lost by letting it be put in with the luggage, I'll need to keep it with me. Does anyone know if Princess offers any option for dealing with oversize bags?

    Thanks, Curt
