  2. I wonder if the ventilation was not working right yet in that room as we had no issues with steam build up. We have always just left the robes on that door.

I hate the inroom hooks personally especially when room stewards insist in moving your nightwear from under the pillow and arranging it on the hooks for the world to see - took nearly a week to train our last guy that we wanted our nightwear left alone

I am not a native speaker, but it sounds horrible to me. Like training a dog!

I see so much stress overhere. This thread is about holidays. It should be fun! There are so many people who would be so grateful to be able for only once in there life on a ship like this. Lets not worry about hooks, shelves etc. Start having fun and be a grateful that you can have holidays like this. I am sure looking forward to your holiday will be twice as much fun.

  3. We too had a delayed debark in Miami on the December TA.

Nothing to do with AZ, purely US Homeland whatnot who seem to delight in turning a simple operation into a disaster. I understand that they also had Public Health staff in the qalley, who slowed down/stopped the flow of food to Windows.

My first time in USA and definitely the last!

It is normal. Whenever I was in the USA bordercontrol slowed down everything. You need to keep that in mind when you travel there.

  4. Thank you for posting, Andy.

To me, this is a HUGE disappointment. Despite Azamara's weather excuse and the compensation offered to the guests on board, this just proves that they were really too ambitious with the dry dock schedule. Even after a 10 day cruise, they have not been able to finish the suites. Also, what seems to be the problem to get the laundry machines working? If they have just replaced the old ones, the hook-up should be a no-brainer, right?

I personally do not care about free laundry bags, since I find that most cruise lines ruin your clothes either with harsh soaps or by putting all the clothes in the drier when you may choose not to.

Booking and paying for a CWO suite (+ all the expenses with air fare) and arriving to a ship which will not offer me what I have chosen is a huge let down.

I know some people will not agree and will call me a whiner, but when you are spending this kind of money, it's really disappointing.

Thanks for keeping us updated anyways. Enjoy your cruise.

Yes I do call you a whiner!!!

  5. I'm sorry but I do not see the point of this post, except to stir the pot. Surely, it is for the people concerned to comment further on this, if they should so wish.

Neither do I, but maybe we are not strong enough listeners and observers??[emoji4]

  6. When will these issues be addressed and corrected?

no jacuzzis, no thalassotherapy pool, no self service laundry, unavailable suites, floods in carpets, bath tubs that can't be used, toilets that do not work?

how can one not be disappointed? you are making it sound like I am seeing issues that do not exist when these are direct reports from cruisers currently on board the ship.

Hello mcomd508, if I understand well you are not onboard at the moment. If so, please stop complaining for others! The passengers onboard are adults.I am sure they can hadle any issues themselves.I sence lots of negativatie!

  7. Yes, Nov 30 Singapore departure, 10 days to Hong Kong. If that's the same cruise you're on - we have a Roll Call in that forum!!

Yes it is. We also booked last summer. I posted a message on the roll call too. But there are hardly no posts on yet. We have an aft balcony cabin.

  8. The Azamara website has a TON of information but it can take some wading through to find what you are looking for. Under the Booked Guest section is where many of the specifics can be found. So yes to the complimentary wines & liquors during the day - the list can be found here:

    https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/booked-guests/onboard-packages/complimentary-beverages

And yes, soda, water & coffees included as well: https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/life-onboard

Hoyaheel, thank you very much!!! Feel a bit dumb now[emoji4] .

  9. Maybe I am a bad reader, but are sodas, water, coffee also included? Can you als order the house wines during the day and evening in the different bars on the ship? Would be really kind if you could help me out with these questions.

  10. I'm sad to see this. I had hoped after all our commentary early on that they would put some sort of storage in there and a larger counter surface area. Where will the soap be? Toothbrushes and toothpaste? The only shelving at all is over the toilet, and that's inappropriate for those items. I see a nice hook next to the sink where I can put my hanging toiletries bag I guess. Not sure where my husband's shaving kit and etc. will go.

Maybe there's a medicine cabinet behind the mirror? I will be anxiously awaiting your assessment.

Why so negative??? You have only see pictures. Must be hard for the people who are working so hard to give us all the photos and information. As far as I have seen everything looks wonderful. I am sure I will find a place to put my toothbrush:). Really looking forward to the new ship.

  11. Def celebrity! Great ships and good crowd. We always met younger people onboard. There are always people in their 20,30,40 onboard. Like the entertainment onboard too! Try to get an aft cabin. Is quiet with a big balcony. Enjoy!!

  12. I have done both, but go def. For Celebrity. The reflection is a great ship. You will love the sunset bar and the martini bar. Always a nice (gay)crowd on celebrity. Have fun!

  13. Go to Petra!!!! That is in my opinion the highlight of the trip. In Oman we went to the souk then took a taxi and went to a private beach to kanoo (forgot the name) that was wonderful. Afterwards a little tour with the cab. It was cheap and we gad a great day. Don't muss the fountains in Dubai. They are wonderful.

  14. You could create a roll call on the Gay & Lesbian board. But my experience is that you may get just a few or no responses. However, rest assured, you will meet up with a good number of gay & lesbian folks on Azamara. We've been on 2 Atlantic crossings and on both met gay folks informally. No problem. And AZ tends to attract a very social outgoing crowd. Lots of cocktail parties, lots of meet-ups. Cruise Critic has a huge group of loyal AZ cruisers.

Thnx for the information. Very helpful

  15. Thnx for your information. Is Oceana for younger people too? We are 46. We have the feeling that Oceana is having a 60+ crowd.

My partner and I have done six crossings with Oceania on both the smaller and larger ships' date=' on a variety of Europe - North America crossings and Europe - South America, with a Cape Town - Rio crossing coming up in November. Oceania are quite progressive in that they allow same sex crew couples to co habit, and the crew seem to have very liberal outlooks in general.... I guess it helps that one of the counter founders of the line is openly gay.

I've never encountered less than 10% LGBT fellow passengers on a crossing, with at least 15-20% on a crossing on Regatta in 2012. After November we have another two crossings booked next year, so I guess they are doing something right for us![/quote']
