  1. It's one per Platinum or above member.  You get a card with the coupons for the restaurant meals and something that looks like a coupon for the laundry.  But it really is not a coupon and you don't need to put it in the bag - and there is only one.  You just have to write Free Platinum Laundry Benefit or something like that on the bag.

Yes. This is Jimmy. He was 63 years old when he passed away earlier this month.

Thank you for replying.  This is so sad.  He was a great guy.  We sailed with him several times and spent time chatting with him and had hoped to see him again.  My condolences on the loss of your friend.

Second hand lion - do you have a picture of Jim Badger? I searched the obituary for the date and info you are giving and I’m wondering if we are talking about the same Jim Badger?

The man I know would have been in his 70’s by now…

@Second Hand Lion, is this the same Jim Badger.  This is the one that we knew from sailing on NCL.  Wondering if it is the same person.

Anyone know the name of the Washy-washy guy in the Buffet who sings? There are several but one was really good and stood out. Want to acknowledge him in the survey.

I think you are talking about Rowan (not sure of the spelling).  We have chatted with him on several cruises and on our cruise a couple of weeks ago, he sent chocolate strawberries to our cabin!  Who knew the washy-washy guy could do that?!

  5. We have done several B2B where we changed cabins.  Only once were we given luggage tags with the new number.  I print out the tags for the second cruise before I leave home and put them on the luggage which we leave in the cabin.  You do not have to pack the items hanging in the closet - they will be moved for you and hung in the new cabin.  I use a CPAP and have to request distilled water.  One gallon jug is enough for both cruises so I only order it for the first.  I use a marker to put the new cabin number on it and leave it on the desk to be moved.

We have always been able to go to our new cabin immediately upon boarding.  The cabin steward knows there is a B2B guest and does that one first.

  6. I recently sailed on Joy in 10942 which is an angled balcony.  My sister was in 10342 which is also angled.  We switched to  those cabins after reading the above referenced thread.  10346 and 10946 are not angled.  My invoice noted in red that 10942 is an enclosed balcony.  This is incorrect - it was not an enclosed or a hull balcony.

What email address did you use. We sent in the mail 10 days ago and haven't heard anything?

I sent my request to ShareholderBenefit@ncl.com on Tuesday afternoon.  Just got my reply and new amenity confirmation (Thursday afternoon).  Look at your booking in your account and see if it is showing the OBC.

I guess you could always go with another person and use your dining credit to order 4 items, then have the other person order one item (the cheaper, the better).

Once the food is on the table, no one should care who eats what.  It will cost a little extra, but not as much as an extra meal credit.

    Enjoy!

This is likely what we will do if told we cannot share our credits.  The other couple can order one item to share and pay for it while we order 8 items.  I really don't think they will police whose mouth the food goes into once it is on the table.

"An SDP meal in a la carte restaurants includes 1 appetizer, 1 soup or salad, 1 main course and 1 dessert (does not apply to cover charge restaurants or Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar and Sushi, where a meal includes any 4 menu items). No sharing or to go orders permitted. SDP does not include beverages and additional and/or premium menu items will incur charges. A 20% gratuity and specialty service charge will be added to the package price. No SDP kids pricing available. We encourage guests to visit ncl.com/myncl to make dining reservations in advance. Reservations are not required but highly recommended, once onboard, reservations will be subject to availability. SDP meals can be enjoyed at American Diner, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Food Republic, Italian, Le Bistro, Los Lobos, Moderno Churrascaria, Pincho Tapas Bar, Q Texas Smokehouse, Raw Bar, Seafood, Sushi and Teppanyaki."  Found at: https://www.ncl.com/specialty-dining-package/faq

Thanks.  I did search all over NCL site for this and was unable to find it.  If that same wording has always been there, then the rule has not been followed.  I learned about sharing the 4 items between two people or 8 items between four people from reading posts on these boards from many people who have done that.  And we did it ourselves (8 items - 4 people) on two previous occasions.  Maybe enforcement of the rule is inconsistent or maybe it is a new rule.

FAS Specialty Dining stipulate each dining credit is good for 2 people who are dining with each other at the same time.  So, if 2 are dining (regardless of what Specialty Dining venue) that would be one of the credits.  If 1 is dining on a credit, you have used up the entire credit. You can't order one dinner and claim you only used ½ the credit.  Once it's used, it's used, no matter if one or two dine on the credit.

I can't find this info in the T&Cs, but I am assuming you are correct.  Then that would make sense why we cannot use half a credit now and the other half later.  This may be a change, because in the past when we used a dining credit (both ordering meals), we each had to  present our card and each got a zero balance check to sign.  On the recent cruise, the waiters said they only needed one card and presented one check.

On our next cruise, we will be traveling with another couple.  We hope to go to Food Republic and redeem our meals while the other couple does not order food - just drinks.  Then four of us will share the 8 items.  We have done this in the past.  Do you think that would still be allowed with the wording you say is in the T&Cs?

  11. We cruised on Joy embarking May 1.  Later in the cruise, when we went to Food Republic and tried to use one dining credit for two people, we were told that wasn't allowed any longer effective May 1.  Usually we would order 4 items off one dining credit and that would be more than enough food for both of us.  Then we were able to repeat at a later date or take along another couple and treat them with one of our credits.  I expected to see comments here about this new policy, but nothing.  So I am wondering if it is being enforced.  Has anyone shared one dining credit at Food Republic recently?

Thanks for the detailed directions.  I was just getting ready to ask where the shuttle pick up was.

Just noticed you live in Guntersville.  We're in Huntsville but we lived a couple of years in Grant.  That was when we were into fishing.  You know Rudi Cornelius?

No don't know him.  Our daughter lives in Huntsville which is what brought us here 9 years ago.

  13. I can't remember which level we parked on, maybe 6.  We parked near the elevator but didn't realize until we got our luggage out of the car that there were a few steps up to the elevator, but we managed it.  Not sure how to get to the parking spots that were level with the elevator, maybe had to start back down.  Anyway, directions to the garage were confusing - google maps was directing us to the wrong side of the building.  What worked for us was to come down Charles Street to Harmony Circle and get onto Andrew Higgins Blvd.  Turn left onto S.Peters St., then right onto S. Diamond St.  You can drop your passenger and luggage on Diamond St. at the  entrance door to the garage building.  That is where the shuttle will pick you up.  Then turn right onto Convention Center Blvd. and right into the garage.  Someone will be at the top of the ramp to take your paperwork and direct you.  It was really very easy.
