  1. So….there is a reason for my sunrise pics this morning! Anyone that has read past reviews knows I DONT DO MORNINGS. I refuse to crawl outta bed before 9 am on vacation. However, at 3 this morning I woke up to this banging sound. I’m a light sleeper, and danggit, this sound was ANNOYING. When Chris woke up a few minutes later and commented on it I knew it was bad…he can sleep thru a dang tornado I swear. Heck, I snore like the winds from a hurricane and he rarely complains. So, he called to report it, and a maintenance guy came out to see what was up. He listened for a bit, went out on the balcony, came back in and said he’d follow up with us. So back to bed we went…but we couldn’t sleep. So we got dressed (sorta) and wandered to Guest Services at 5 to get ear plugs. The worker there said that they were looking into the problem and would get back to us, and gave us ear plugs. We wandered past Java Blue, hoping maybe they were open for coffee, but they open at 6. Oh well. We went back to the room and I saw the sun beginning to peek out, so I went on the balcony. Guess what? While out there, I found out the root of the problem! See, the idea of our balcony is great, and the view lovely…but when the ship is sailing, especially at any speed, it is frigging WINDY. Like…almost unusable. That, combined with the fact that they put ROCKING CHAIRS on the balcony, with ONE plexiglass partition to “block” the wind, leads to the wind moving the rocking chairs, and they were banging against the side of the ship, and eventually our balcony door. Argh! I kinda think these rooms, while lovely, should either be awesome ocean view rooms, or have more plexiglass shields to help with the wind. However, the wind does help your bathing suites dry fast! Just make sure you don’t leave them unattended.
  2. Got myself a La Buena Vida from Havana Bar before we left. Took a few pics of the Havana Bar area. Now, to go check out the Loft 19 and Serenity situation!
  3. In the Havana bar for the Wave morning show. On the way here I grabbed a white chocolate caramel frappe, it was delicious! Although I do have to ask…why a strawberry flavored straw Carnival?? 🤨 When we got to the Havana bar, I tried a Cortadito, which I loved!! I’ll def be back here for go-go juice!
  4. Big chicken for breakfast. Again, I love BC, but the biscuits are not up to my standards. I want a fluffy, flaky biscuit. But hey….I have tried it twice now, just to be sure.
  5. Sea day brunch menu. I wanted to go, but Chris is struggling to wake up, so Im not sure what I’ll be getting for breakfast.
  6. I seem to be having issues with Cruise Critic off and on on my phone. Not sure what’s up with that. All my other sites are working, so it’s just odd. I’m using an iPhone, with Safari browser, not sure if there’s a glitch somewhere but anyway…if I go radio silent for a bit, that’s why! The plan for today: RELAX! The only thing set in stone is dinner at Rudi’s at 5:30.
  7. I gotta go check out the Golden Jubilee today, it is such a cool looking area. I also love the map on the wall you can see all the ships locations!
  8. I got the smoked poblano soup and Caesar salad. The soup was awesome, the salad was ok. For my main I got the sweet and sour shrimp. That dish rocked! The shrimp were nice and tender, and the rice was awesome…it wasn’t bland, it had flavor! I did a cheese plate for dessert, I wasn’t tasting anything sweet. Perfect meal! We sat and talked with friends until 9:30, then headed back to the room so Chris could register for college classes. Day 1 has been a success!
  9. So, after our sail away and hot tub time we went back to the room, freshened up, unpacked, then met our friends in Celebration Central at 6:30. The bar there makes a great pomegranate martini! At 6:45 we checked in for the MDR, and it said at 50-60 minute wait. They guesstimated perfectly…at 7:45 we were notified our table was ready! We were sat in Tanja’s section, and she’s a great server with personality! Here are tonight’s menus. What would you have?
  10. Just purchased it today, it’s $5 for our whole week onboard Celebration
  11. A few more random pics from around. We spent the past hour at deck 8 aft, the watering hole, and in a hot tub back there. Awesome area! I love the clock on the floor 😂
  12. I’ll make sure to go check that one out too! We were in the hot tub on deck 8 aft with Rick & Reba!
  13. Door decorations from my nearby neighbors. Ron and Judy don’t know it yet, but they’re gonna be my new BFFs!
  14. Alchemy creations (you all KNEW I was going there!)….the creamy coconut by Jason (ok but not like Zoltan’s on MG) and a “something coffee flavored” by Vlad, which was AMAZING.
  15. Some quick shots around Loft 19. I’ll get more and better ones later.
  16. Just a few shots from around the ship. We wandered back to the Watering Hole on deck 8 for a few drinks. The Funship was good as always, and the Sail Away cocktail was great! Had Pig & Anchor for lunch, the beef was nice and tender, pork flavorful, and Mac & Cheese perfect! For some reason I was infatuated with these giant flamingos 😂
  17. They are! I’ll be visiting both, stay tuned! Yes, stay away from Miami. I don’t know…actually…my next cruise is in a lowly interior! How will I survive???
