Last year on the Royal Princess, there were private boats as shuttles, as to the distance from the pier, we were anchored about 10 minutes away.

We enjoyed the Barcelona Day Tours, the guides were informative and you get a good look at the city, both by bus and on foot. When the tour was over, we dropped our luggage off at the hotel and then grabbed some lunch, it worked out real well for us.

Just what you need for an Alaska cruise, a ship with than less ideal spots to spend time on the decks watching the beautiful scenery of the coast and bays.

There was just a little soot on the deck and rails when we stayed in Baja aft room, and when I say a little, you really had to look for it to find it.

I recommend Rick Steves travel books, they are a wealth of information and travel with common sense.

Cruise Junky we were in a deluxe balcony, I believe the aft layout was from left to right - corner suite, deluxe balcony, deluxe balcony, equipment room, deluxe balcony and then a another corner suite.

We couldn't reserve our seats until after final payment for American, where as British was more liberal, allowing earlier seat assignments.

Just finished a cruise on Royal a month ago, where we had an aft cabin on the Baja deck. There was some ash debris on the balcony, not a lot but a little, to me not deal breaker. There was equipment room next to us and its balcony had more ash on it, more likely as a result of not being cleaned as often as others.

We had a wonderful time walking up to the top of fort, it was a challenge but well worth it. I would definitely recommend non skid shoes for the hike, although I actually saw a older gentleman wearing dress shoes. Also bring plenty of water or bring euros for the venders along the way.

Both Croatia and Montenegro were a pleasant surprise to my wife and I, we throughly enjoyed the beauty of both countries and the history behind it.

My wife and I checked out the chapel on Royal Princess last month, it was small and dark, not exactly where we would want to renew our vows. I think other ships have better locations.

We used RIL 3 weeks ago for a pickup at FCO, a 3 hour tour of Rome and a drop off at our hotel. The service was perfect, the driver was waiting for us outside the arrivals door, which was great as it took the better part of an hour for our flights luggage to show up. The tour was a great introduction to Rome and after flying for almost 13 hours it was exactly what we needed to adjust slowly to the new time zone. We also so used RIL for the transfer to the port, couldn't have been any easier for two parents and a young boy.

You can never be too careful, just last week British Airlines was forced to cancel all their flights due to a computer issue, I'd fly in a day early to safe.

My family of three have just returned from a ten day cruise aboard the Royal Princess, starting in Rome and ending in Barcelona.
Upon arriving at the port around 11:30 a.m., we quickly went through security, preferred check in for platinum cruisers, and before I could get a second pastry, we walking up the gang plank.
We had a deluxe balcony in the stern of the ship on the Baja level. The room was nice and clean and our friendly room steward Joel kept it that for the entire cruise. The balcony was partially covered and one of the larger ones I've seen, and as reported by others , there was a slight soot issue on some mornings, one chunk was as big as the head on a pin.
Now on to what counts, food, loved the buffet for breakfast and lunch, there was always seating available, service was prompt and efficient. The meals in the MDR were good, but there seemed to be a little repetition on certain items, like pork chops showed up 2 maybe 3 times during the cruise. Service in the MDR was hit and miss, some nights it was fast and attentive and other nights we were left waiting a long time between courses, so much so that our server apologized for the delay. The table next to us threw us for a loop, they had chips guacamole, and pico de gallo brought to the table on the first formal night.
As this was a very port intensive cruise, with very early excursions, we didn't partake in any entertainment on the ship, other than listen to band play in the piazza, which was very good.
To sum it up, the cruise 1 1/2 years in making was great, so much so we would do it again if we found another 10 day cruise in Europe.

Sad, sad story, I'll never forget my shop teacher warning us about safety around bottled gas, as he described a man being killed after a valve was broken off causing the tank to turn into rocket.

I keep going back to the Sleep Inn in Dania, there's a Wal mart across the street and fast food a couple blocks away.

I'm not sure if Princess will follow suit with their new builds, but Carnival just announced two new builds along the same design as P & O.

The quality of entertainment has gone down hill, in the last 10 years or so, with less and less live musicians, on the deck and in theaters. Can't say I miss the midnight buffet as we usually hit the rack long before midnight.

Forward on the is ship is best, bring a beverage and maybe a sweater as it can be chilly.

The graphics on the ship looked great at first, now a day later, I don't like it, too corny for me.

Tendering in Kotor
in Princess Cruises
Posted
The tendering moves faster as they have local boats transferring the passengers to shore.
