  1. After some advice.  I have taken a jump of faith and booked the Sept 2021 Radiance Transpacific and so far have just paid the deposit to secure a Spacious Oceanview Balcony Cabin.

I have a FCC from a cruise on Voyager which was cancelled in March.  Should I apply the FCC to my new booking now or hang off until last day to pay in case cruise cancellations continue or flights between Australia and Hawaii don't resume?

Did Radiance transpacific in 2018 and loved it, so jumped at the chance to do it again.

  2. Royal have handled this terribly, at least Carnival and P&O have let guests know what is going on and cancelled their cruises. Royal are still trying to sell cruises out of Australia for the next couple of months despite Radiance going nowhere today, Ovation and Voyager heading to Sydney with crews apparently being sent home. No information from Royal, cruise guests just left hanging in the wind.

  3. Just wondering if anyone who has recently sailed Voyager can tell me if once you get into the check-in area at the OPT, if there are still separate queue lines for Gold, Platinum, Emerald and Diamond C&A members.

Thought I read somewhere that with the introduction of online check-in through the app and 'The Key', this has now been done away with but can't find the post.

If so, just another C&A loyalty perk which has gone.

    Thanks everyone for replies!

Hopefully we like him, maybe might find him a bit more personable/relatable for us given we are aussies and so is he. Personally find some CDs just a little OTT so maybe the relaxed attitude you guys are describing will be more to our tune. Guess we'll see 😁

If not we can make our own fun. 😁

  6. My wife and I are booked on Voyager in March and we will be travelling with 8 friends to celebrate my 50th.

I want to make a booking for the 10 us to have dinner one night either in Chops Grill or Chefs Table as a birthday dinner celebration and would like to pay for eveyone. We all have our own cruise bookings so any suggestions as how I can do this.

    Many Thanks

  7. We had 1852 on Voyager of the Seas which is sister ship to Mariner of the Seas and absolutely loved it. Being separated from the other cabins made it feel like you were in your special section of the ship and having no through traffic was great.  We were sailing out of Sydney to South Pacific, so had magnificent views on arriving and leaving Sydney, Noumea and Mystery Island.  Would highly recommend.

  8. We did the Radiance TP last year (same class as Serenade) from Honolulu to Sydney and absolutely loved it (We are 46 and 48). A trip of a lifetime getting the opportunity to visit Moorea and Bora Bora. Yes the trip does have a lot of sea days but you don't take this type of cruise to be doing activities every minute of the day. We found that there were plenty of activities everyday which you could do if you wanted.  We found the variety of menu options was good and didn't find that the MDR menu was repetitive. There were 3 formal nights and a number of the usual theme nights.  Most nights were different themes in the Windjammer and along with the other speciality restaurants there was plenty of choice. The length of this cruise also gave us a great opportunity to really get to know the crew.
