  1. No two flights are ever the same. :) I always fly multiple times every trip. I never tire of the beauty or vastness of Alaska. Flying certainly expresses it beautifully.

However- be aware there are essential details of Denali flights. I am very picky who I go with and especially what route I'm doing. So, perhaps, give attention to descriptions to be sure what you are booking.

Budget Queen - what are the essential details we should look for? Who are your preferred vendors? Do you know who Princess uses?

    Thanks

  2. We are already booked with Island Wings for the Mistry Fjords flightseeing. One of our options for an excursion from Mt. McKinley Lodge is a flight around Denali from Talkeetna. We are trying not to do to many of the same things. How different are these flights? Are the Denali flight tours that awesome?

  3. Also posted on the Alaska Ports of Call page --

Has anyone done the Black Bear UTV Wilderness Adventure from Princess Mt. McKinley Lodge? There is not a lot of detail on the Princess site on this one. Thinking of booking this one or Chulitna Gorge or River Rafting. Thoughts please...

  4. It's per person. May I ask which ship? My cruise will be on the Ruby and I'm still seeing the same Internet prices. I would be happy if I could buy one of those packages and so would my friend.

Not trying to be nasty but I want to add that I don't understand why people feel the need to make comments about the data usage of others. OP, whatever you want the data for, enjoy your vacation.

We are on the Coral. Thanks for the comment on others caring what I use data for. Maybe I have disabled children or ill parents to keep in contact with OR maybe I am the CEO of a major corporation. I'm not any of those but why should anyone care.

  5. I am trying to figure out how many and what size suitcases we need for an 11 day cruise tour on Princess starting with the land portion. There are 4 of us - my wife and I and 2 teens who wear adult clothes. We each plan on having a travel back pack for planes and trains. I am also posting on the Alaska ports of call section.

  7. I saw this on my Personalizer. Does anyone know if these packages are per person or per device since the minutes are unlimited?

  8. We are on Coral Princess at the end of June 2018. Our stop in Juneau is from 6:30AM - 4PM. Things we are considering doing are whale watching, tram, Mendenhall Glacier. Is it possible to do any of these that early in the morning? If port arrival is 6:30, when should we plan on actually being able to get off the ship? (this question also applies to our other ports)

  9. Our cruise is in June and we have already booked our excursions in Juneau and Ketchikan and also a cruise we are doing on our land tour in Seward. But that is mainly because we like to do things early and then not to have to worry about it. Last time I checked, there was still plenty of availability for our Juneau excursion which I have read will sell out.

We are booked on a Princess cruise at the end of June 2018, but the Cruise Personalizer says excursions are not yet available for our cruise. I am assuming you are booking independently in order to book a year ahead?? Or am I missing something on the Princess site?

    TIA

  10. Access to EZ Air opened up today for flights for our cruisetour to Alaska on 6/23/18 (fly into FAI, out of YVR). The EZ Air fare is actually $6 more than booking direct. I consider a $6 difference irrelevant. So, what are the pros and cons of EZ Air vs Direct booking. One advantage of direct I see is seat selection - when looking at the EZ Air fares there was a comment that seat selection was just a request to the airline and could not be guaranteed. I'd like to be assured our family of four is not all split up. Thanks in advance.

  11. I am starting to research excursions for SB Alaska cruise on Coral June 2018. Princess site says they won't be available to book until 120 days prior to cruise. If I am debating between Princess and non-Princess excursions would it be too late to book non-Princess excursions?

  12. The Princess On Your Own does include transportation, it's always a bus though. This is from the 2018 Alaska brochure:

*On Your Own cruisetour options do not include Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service, Natural History Tour into Denali National Park, Sternwheeler Riverboat Cruise or Gold Dredge 8 Tour in Fairbanks.

Here is a direct link to the brochure which makes it easier to see the differences: https://book.princess.com/images/cc/brochure/downloads/Princess-Alaska-2018.pdf

Thanks for the link. That is very helpful.

  13. What are the differences between each of these land portions on Alaska Cruisetours? Is the Denali Explorer worth the extra cost?

We have not been to Alaska and not been on Princess. Looking at a 10 day cruisetour June 2018. Just trying to narrow down some options.
