  1. I understand the price of the AI DRINKS package is to rise later this year. If i pre purchase do I get it at the old price? Can I order online or call costa? Thanks in advance..

I have booked a cruise too in 2015 and can only purchase by phone. Price is 24.99 euros per person per day now. so 174.93 euros for a weeks.

  2. Sorry, I have to disagree. If I didn't pay a cruise fare, somehow walked on the ship, and expected a glass of water, then I agree they should charge. I don't think getting tap water at dinner is some huge cost for Costa or too much to ask when one has paid several thousand upfront. Bottled water, of course, I would expect a charge. Personally, I find this ridiculous.

Some have brought up that it is cultural thing, which may be the case. If so, then why not have to pay to use a public restroom onboard? Someone has to clean it, so that costs them money. Maybe even charge to use my stateroom restroom? There could be a place to swipe a credit card before the bathroom door will open. Someone has to clean that too. Another cost. Perhaps, they should charge for ketchup and mustard for a hamburger? There is a cost there as well.

After cruising numerous times throughout the world on Celebrity, HAL, Princess, and RCL, why would I ever want to cruise on this line if they won't include a glass of water at dinner? If I were Costa, I would worry more about keeping their ships above water, than charging their customers for a drink of it.

Why dont just buy the All inclusive beverages? That way the 'issue' is solved too.

  3. Well some tips.

You will have lots of sea days, on those days its best to avoid the buffet the first hour it opens. You will see people queing half an hour before it opens. On sea days you might even want to consider dining in the main dining room for lunch.

Be prepared for an italian atmosphere, this means loud entertainment.

Food: be open for the italian culture. Do not expect verry big dishes, but about 7 small courses.

The speciality restaurant is worth the 25 euros tho. Food there is excellent.

And take the all inclusive package. Its a real bargain even if you only drink coffe and sodas.

A little 'secret' when sailing out of a nice port go to deck 9 in the front of the ship. You will see a corridor with cabins. Go straight trough to the front and go through the door. You can go on top of the bridge for a good view

  4. Yes. Order it when you get onboard. Many of the waitstaff will be selling it the first day.

Ok thanks, issue is that i have already bought and paid for the extra all in at 19,50 per day. Should i cancel? Or do they deduct this amount drop the price pf the VIP package?

  5. Hello,

The beer on costa ships in europe is Carlsberg, or Becks withouth alcohol.

You can buy bottled beer also, but this is not included in the all inclusive package.

There are no bitters or cyders tho.

    Enjoy your cruise

  6. Normally these ports are no tender ports.

I suggest you fly in a day in advance and make your way to Savona. Spend the night in the NH hotel Savona Darsena. Its right next to the port. That way you can board the ship early and start enjoying it sooner.

As for the weather, it changes a lot in march/april. You could be having sun and warm weather in Palma, but can be cold in Savona. I suggest you check a week in advance the forecasts of these port cities.

Enjoy your cruise. Dont forget to book the all inclusive:)

  7. If i read this well, then there are only a few non smoking ships??

I am sailing on the Costa Serena in april. It looks like there are still inside smoking areas then?

Plus the balcony policy has not changed. I dont know if this really a big step forward..
