  1. I am normally a cruiser with Royal Caribbean and understand their dinning times. You normally get to choose a dinning time when booking.

I have just booked a cruise with a group of people on Pacific Eden for later this year. There was no option to choose a time?

Can someone please advise me how the main dinning room works on P & O cruises??

  2. I live in Cairns and Rhapsody always docks at the cruise terminal. Unless things are changing?

It is the biggest ship to dock here and is a pleasant site to see when strolling the streets off Cairns.

It is a 10 minute walk to the city centre and about a 15 minute walk to the Cairns Central shopping centre and the Railway Station.

Most people like to do trips up north to Port Douglas and also the Daintree if time permits.

Port Douglas is about an hours drive away and very scenic as it follows the coast for quite a bit.

There is a wildlife park in Port Douglas if you want to see some aussie animals.http://www.wildlifehabitat.com.au/

You may need to hire a car for the day to get to Port Douglas and then you can continue to the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation.

There are a few tour operators which do tours, just google "Daintree Tours" and they will come up.

It might depend on what time you dock whether you would make a tour as most leave quite early.

One of the most popular trip's is the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail. Most people do the train one way and the Skyrail one way.http://www.ksr.com.au/TourOptions/Pages/TourPackages.aspx

  3. Yes she was docked at Cairns Port Terminal and we have Rhapsody of the Seas docking next weekend for two days.

It's a lovely sight to look from the town centre and see a ship at the end of the street.:)

Seems most ships 70,000 ton and under can dock ok. It's only a five minute stroll into the city centre.

I've been watching the P&O ships tendering up at Yorkeys Knob and cannot understand why?

The cruise terminal was built for a considerable amount of money and is very under utilised.

I have a feeling they are charging to much for their port fees?:(

  4. We sailed on Voyager of the Seas January 2013.

We pre paid our tips with our booking and the service we received was exceptional.

On the last day we gave $50 each to our waiter, assistant waiter and our room attendant.

The three people mentioned above became like family and made our cruise so memorable.

I am sure any of the crew who look after you would appreciate the extra tips:)

I travel to the USA a fair bit so I am use to tipping!
