I’m such a coffee snob. I buy fresh roasted from a local roaster and grind myself before use.  Omg if you have never had fresh roasted coffee you must try it.  Anyways I was worried the coffee would be bad. Will they allow a coffee pot ? Lol I am bringing my own creamer so figured maybe that would help a bit

I know what you mean!!! I'm particular and do 1/2 decaf and 1/2 caff beans. There is a local roaster 1.5 miles from here and it is such a pleasure to have that nearby. Carnival doesn't allow kettles or appliances and you can get hot water (but not the bottled kind). Norwegian will supply you with a kettle and you can put whatever kind of water you bring along. The kettle allowed me to do my pour overs. We have shelf stable creamer too! The coffee place does have good coffee but not complimentary. I don't feel like waiting in a line when I'm not awake to get my morning fix. Bringin my own makes it easier on me.

Good morning. Slept good last night. 7 straight hours. No broken sleep. No scooby doo. This time it was American Ninja Warrior.

It looks better out here today. No wet decks.

I see a holiday show on the schedule today so I want to make sure I catch that. That’s something you don’t get to see the rest of the year.

Great review and will be on the Dream in 3 months. We plan on spending lots of time between our cove balcony and the serenity deck. Have a great cruise and thanks for sharing!!

I've had one but can't remember the name of it.  They ask you what you like and then make something for you.  I didn't want anything sweet and so he used blackberries in it.  It was quite good, very refreshing!

Thanks, Wave61! I can't wait to on that ship to try it!!

  4. My opinion is the regular coffee is atrocious on Carnival. I feared that and brought along starbuck via packets and they're strong and very bitter. I had one latte that I paid for and it was ok. The second cruise I took, NCL, I got wise. I brought freshly ground beans, filters and my portable pour over. They supply you with a kettle in the cabin and Carnival doesn't. This will be my third cruise and I'm doing the same as before but I'll have to order hot water from room service in the morning.

  5. My partner and I are booked on NCL Jewel, 11/10/13, out of New Orleans in conjunction with Sweet. Any other "family" :D aboard? Anyone else ventured out with Sweet, if so, how was your experience? I am a newbie cruiser but my partner has before.

We're also going on the Carnival Conquest, 4/21/13, to celebrate our son's 16th birthday. Anyone booked on that one by chance?
