There Face Book page has recent posts but suggests they are short of staff. There are recent reviews on TA. Suggest you email or message them to check?

That's why it was kind of confusing. Tripadvisor had a couple of reviews from just a couple of weeks ago but I'll contact directly.

  2. Just my experiences here but they always seem to send me a gift card for the remainder whether or not the OBC was refundable non-refundable. I think they know me better than I know me via algorithm and that I'll use that $75 gift card to justify spending 4K on another cruise. 100% my experience and It might be different now with so much OBC floating around.

I agree with what you say. I think of my own self and how I feel when I see someone without a mask. It certainly has changed us. And not for the better.

Mask vs. no mask conflicts will probably be raging. As someone who derives pleasure from people watching on a cruise,  I consider this a nice entertainment bonus.

Thanks for the memories. I was 12 in 1970 and had a blast!! The food was incredible back then and I'm sure the prices were also.😲

No doubt about that. The food and service was really good then and it was more of a semi all-inclusive thing but the basic fare cost a lot more then even in old timey dollars. Good that us olds had a chance to experience that but I like the new ways better.

Good memories but Grandpa is now exiting memory lane.

  5. I remember the skeet shooting and womping golf balls off of the aft deck when I was young. Also remember having visitors on the ship until just before sail away and then tossing a million pounds of streamers into the water as you left the dock...sometimes with nobody even there to watch... No buffets except the midnight and standing in a huge line to shake the Captain's hand on formal night-- although they were all formal by todays standards.

Good times, good times. Things have certainly changed and are better now for the most part I think.

October cruises on the Vista and the Freedom are also unavailable.  The obvious unanswered question would be, so what about October?

I have a late October Freedom cruise booked and paid for. My glass half full angel on one shoulder says it's because we'll sail at reduced capacity and they're already fully booked with that scenario but the glass half empty angel on the other shoulder is telling me to make other vacation plans. Not the end of the world if that happens but damn.

My CCL shareholder onboard credit request that I sent in weeks ago hasn't been responded to with a yes/no/go away and I think that might be a tell too.

On a conquest class ship, with the raked seating around the pool, I can sit the whole sea day just watching the activities, dancing, interactions, the line at Guy's, the bar flies, posers, in-love seniors, fighting couples, the waiters, people carrying food, people trying to get drinks, chair hogs, swimmers, the good looking fun squad, all a little buzzed from the steady flow of margaritas.  So...I guess...maybe you?

Yes for sure! All of this and also watching the parade of people going to the dining room on Elegant-ish Night whatever that means to folks. Carnival is the premier line for people watching.

I received an email saying it was approved.   Then requested an up to date invoice and it showed there

Thanks. I submitted a couple/few weeks ago via mail and I couldn't remember how that all worked last time. I'm betting that they have bigger fish to fry these days so I'll just wait it out.

Most expensive $100 onboard credit I'll ever get I'm sure but hey, whatever. I'll take it.

Let us know how it goes!

I've never been on Fantasy and I don't want to get into your pillow fight about statistics. I'm sayin' that the hammer has come down on that ship now and the person who is sailing in Sept. has no worries about the cleanliest of that ship.

i have not read all of the posts about the fantasy. we will be on her sept. 16th for a 10 day panama canal cruise and feel real good about the ship. i bet the fantasy will be in tip top shape for this cruise. i like the fantasy size ships. lets hope i am right.

With all of the bad attention coming down on CCL lately on this and other things I bet there's been some really tense staff meetings on the corporate and Fantasy ship level.

Trust me. Fantasy will be the cleanest ship in the fleet after this PR disaster... at least for the near term. Timing is really good for you on your Sept. cruise so no worries.

Not that I am encouraging anyone to buy it just for the OBC.

But the stock is priced nice.

    Do your homework first tough

Totally agree. I haven't checked CCL price recently but as of a couple of months ago it was a pretty attractively priced stock. With that said buy a the stock for it's real value and not for a small onboard credit. There's so many other ways to make that $100.

  13. Mid June, RC LOS docks at 8:00AM in Roatan. My husband loves to snorkel & after reading postings, I think going to the West Bay would be best for us. I understand he can rent equipment there. My question is how early do things open to rent? Will they have chairs? Shade? Sand bugs in June? Best transportation to reach Bay & return? Does an earlier time at the beach mean less aggressive vendors? We'd plan on being back on ship for lunch. Thank you!

No responses???? Just my 2 cents but I'll weigh in here.

Once you get there you may decide to stay longer than you think so plan for that possibility. Assuming good weather, it's a great place. West Bay beach is great for snorkeling with lots of beach clubs but taxis can be kind of pricey. The beaches aren't private but the clubs and amenities are. Best snorkeling is down towards The Wall. I'm not up on all of the clubs day packages but Bananarama is nice and has a package that includes transportation to and from and I'm sure others do too. All of the clubs are pretty much in the same area and within walking distance of the really good snorkeling if that's the priority.

Tabayana Beach ship excursion might be an option for you if it's still reasonably priced and includes transportation. Also near the best part of the reef for snorkeling. I don't usually do ship excursions but I did it once. It was $40 and put you right there for the good snorkeling. Also had shuttle buses going back every hour or so and that was nice. Chairs and shade readily available especially early. They had security people to watch your stuff when you were in the water and to chase away any vendors so that was nice too. Not my first choice beach-wise but sounds like it might work for your hit and run morning visit.

I'm sure you can rent snorkeling gear at most places and not sure when they open but honestly, how long can one snorkel? I assume that if you're there with $ they will rent equipment.

Also, I've been there half a dozen times and never had a problem with sand fleas but that might be a seasonal thing. I've only been there fall and early winter.

  14. I'm going this weekend.....9/30. There's lots of good things to do to kill time near the pier. If you've never been then try to bake in some time there if you can and check it out when you go in Oct. It's a great port in that respect.

I have no problem getting on a ship early but I would rather hang out in the immediate area in Galveston rather than do the hurry up and wait thing at the terminal but dragging around a suitcase would be a deal breaker.

  15. I have an early flight and early shuttle to the Galveston port that's going to put me at the pier during peak disembarkation time. My embarkation time is 11:00-11:30 but I'm in no big hurry to board. Does anyone know if I can find a porter and drop my suitcase and just hang out in the area for an hour or two?

  16. Not to be negative here but they got a 50 day interest free loan. Hopefully you paid cash and didn't incure any interest because of their lack of payment. If so charge them interest. lol

THE Ron Mexico?????? Michael? Is that you????????

I know it isn't but bouquet to you for the creative name. Google 'Ron Mexico' if you don't get it...... I'm just padding my post count here.
