As an alternative to shenzhen, while in hkg, you can visit

Mongkok - lots of stores, mid price brands,pedestrian market stalls from 6pm onwards, selling items similar to what you will find in shenzhen ( bags, scarves, shirts, pjs, socks, etc)

Or for computer and gaming stuff, dragon center in sham shui po -

Both these districts are on the red line on the mtr... Easy to get to.

Easy to go to shenzhen, but sometimes its a pain to come back to hkg with long lines at immigration.

Gold Coast is an hour and half from Brisbane by bus or car

Can fly to Gold Coast just not sure if it's direct from Perth is all

Ive got my geography wrong, i thought gold coast was in brisbane. Thanks for pointing this out.

My kids want to go to gold coast after the cruise, so we will have to fly to melbourne or sydney??

Will plan to stay in perth a day or two post cruise, then fly to where gold coast is nearest, then fly out to manila from either sydney or melbourne where phil airlines fly direct.

Im interested in a 16 night sydney to perth on royal. Any thoughts on the weather at that time? Its the last avail cruise for the season, but our window to travel is april / may...hence the interest. Multigenerational family here.

How long is the flight from perth to brisbane?

From brisbane do we drive to gold coast, or fly in from perth to gold coast, then drive to brisbane. Our possible flight out will be brisbane.

Yes, I like celebrity and im watching out for their future timetable for sydney to auckland. Our vacation windows are only christmas break which is a but short for a trip to australia ,or april to end may, which is late for australia schedules.

I gave my TA the go signal to book us on Explorer, its cheaper today than tom when the sale starts... Weird huh... Got balcony D for parents and F ocean view for us... Still comes put cheaper than interior and balcony on diamond.

First time to book a ship with the ice skating rink, mini golf etc... Another fun adventure on a ship... Long wait still.

We booked the same n the Star, elderly parents in main bedroom, myself, DH and 13 yr old DD in inside room, DS 20, on couch.

Hope it works but even if its on the tight side, we are happy to have the chance to cruise and to enjoy the suite life.

Just always look at the bright side. Enjoy!

We were onthe Cruise (NCL) when Hurricane Sandy hit-leaving from Quebec- so we missed out first time in NY also. Just back from a Cruise on the Breakaway- got to see NY finally!! Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn times Square- perfect location for us, rate $260.00- took the Hop on Hop Off bus, both routes, got on a few blocks from Hotel- we had beautiful weather. We only had one full day before Cruise but felt we saw alot. Saw so much, everyhing we see on TV but close up and pesonal. Sailed by the Statute of Liberty, that was on my "bucket list" for sure. We did not see a play, but the location of the Hotel was just a few blocks from many Theatres.

Another vote for hilton garden inn times square. Good price for ny.

Very central, easy to take bus, hop on off, or walk.

Times square, macy's, fifth ave and empire state bldg just around u.

Water taxi is a good wayto explore as well.

Get the hotel to call a big taxi., its way way way way cheaper than a hired van.

We are also a group of 6, but staying in an apartment near Rosenborg gardens. Would you be able to give the tel number of big van taxi service we can call ourselves, as private van transfer will cost me dkk 600.

Can i prebook big van taxi for port to airport puck up as well? Cost for this in private van is dkk1000.

Thank you Richard. I did check on all of 2015 schedules and the closest possible sched is disney wonder may 1... If we cant do this 2016, we can do this trip and cruise in 2017. I was just hoping to book on board when we go on princess and ncl, but it doesnt look doable.

Its a bit early, but if you have recommendations

Family of 4. We are late 40's, kids 21, 14 by 2016. 2 insides, or 2ov, or 1 balcony 1 inside.

Looking at florida to los angeles (san fo or san diego) ok as well. We plan to tour east coast then return to west coast via cruise.

By then we would have been on celebrity, (done and liked) princess ( dec 2014) norwegian ( may 2015)

We are active, like dance, games xbox, bingo, daughter still enjoys tweens club

My best timing will be late may but this doesnt seem to be the time for panama canal cruises, so as late in may as possible will be best.

Which cruise line would you recommend for us.

Living in the far east, its best to visit these parts jan and feb vs march april when it gets warm and humid. Jan and feb breezy and cool.

Oct nov dec great months too.

June july aug rainy, typhoon season.

Barcelona is fun!

Walking up and down ramblas, having tapas and paella, visiting la sagrada familia and taking a free gaudi tour... All these will easily eat up your two days, plus shopping at porta angels street and el corte ingles.

Port to la rambla - easy walk.

Airport to port or placa catalunya area - taxi euro less than 40.

Easy and cheap to take subway to visit sights.

We stayed in an apartment in the passeig de gracia area not a hotel, so i couldnt recommend a hotel.

Hope u enjoy Barcelona, our 4 nights wasnt enough for us.

We were on the 6/15 sailing on Star. In speaking with the staff the reason they don't want to book folks on the shuttle to the airport for flights before 12:30pm is that they don't want to be responsible for anyone missing flights. We had an 11:50 flight from CPH to Amsterdam and told NCL our flight left at 12:30. We were given silver luggage tags and were on the first bus at 8:00am to the airport. We got to the airport around 9:00am where we collected our bags from a holding area. After checking in for our flight we had plenty of time to clear security, grab something to eat and shop in Kastrup. NCL charged us $30.00 each for the transport. I think it was worth it as there was traffic from the port to the airport (Tuesday morning) so I don't want to think about the price for a cab. If you can live with telling a little white lie about your departure time you should be fine.

Thank you for your advice. We will definitely be flying 1230 (wink) 6 pax x usd 30 =180. Looking thru private limo websites, i got a quote of usd 224 for a mercedes benz van for 8 but with a possible wait time charge of usd112, so that can tip the scale. Ill just inform concierge that we have a 1230 flight and be ready to be off by 8am. Thanks so much!
