  1. My wife, son and I have booked several RC cruises since Covid started and a couple were cancelled by RC and the last one (Dec 21) I cancelled when it became clear that you had to be vaccinated.  My wife and I are, but my son is not, and we have no intention at this time of vaccinating him.  So right now we each have about $1600 in FCC credit with RC sitting there.  At this point I would prefer to get a 100% refund and try RC again in the future if the vaccination requirements change.  Is that possible?  If so, other than calling RC and staying on hold for hours and being bounced around is there a better way to request it?  If the credit is not possible, can I have RC move the FCC credit that is in my son's name over to mine and my wife?  We would probably go ahead and cruise with RC so as not to lose the money.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  2. I will get in when we are closer to having a  vaccine.  I don't think cruises will start up again until that is available and you have a vaccination certificate of some kind.  Until then I will invest in stuff that is making money instead of waiting on cruise stock to rebound.

  3. We are in the same boat, June 12th our of PR on the Freedom.  They still haven't cancelled the cruise but I just got a cancellation notice from Expedia that my hotel room I booked for the night before the cruise has been cancelled.  The reason is the hotel will not be open during that time.  It was the Decanter Hotel.

  4. We are scheduled to board the Freedom of the Seas on June 14th in PR.  Saturday we received a 16 page email with boarding instructions, luggage tags and itinerary.  I am not trying to get a discussion going about this boat sailing or not.  Everyone has an opinion on it and they are all just that "opinions".  I thought this might be interesting information.  If the boat goes we will be on it.  If it doesn't, we will find somewhere else to go on our vacation.  👍

  5. Just be advised that not all games are on the package or at least it was that way on the Bliss a few weeks ago.  The slot where you swipe your card is either green or a yellow color.  The green ones were covered on the package and were basically anything that didn't give out prize tickets.  I would estimate that about 35-40% of all arcade machines were covered by the package.  Most were video games such as driving/racing games, shooting games, etc.

I applaud NCL for bringing real Broadway shows to their stage without changing scripts or removing curse words.  If you want to see a children's show or a show without curse words, I would suggest cruising Disney.   As we all know, the Jr High school bus has far worse language than ANY show on NCL or Broadway and I don't see parents rushing to put warning signs at the bus stop about foul language.

As I said in the original post "I don't want to turn this in to an argument about acceptable language".   The post was just a heads up to everyone that the language is there, do with it as you will.

  7. I don't want to turn this in to an argument about acceptable language but I wanted to advise anyone going to the Jersey Boys show on the Bliss that it does contain some strong language.  In addition to the "d" and "s" words, they drop the F-bomb about 15-20 times during the show.  Prior to entering the show they do have signs that state the show contains "authentic New Jersey profane language".  Just a heads up in case anyone is offended by this language or has little ears going to the show.

  8. Got the upgrade offer email at about 60 days out.  We are in mini-suite and bid on 5-6 different Havens.  My bids were all on the low end rated as poor and showed as "pending" until today.  We are 48 hours out and just go the emails from Norwegian showing the bids were rejected.  The Havens were showing as sold out on NCL.com for a couple of months prior to today.

  9. "I will finish with this regarding the pool area, on day two I woke early to mark four chairs for my family with towels and clips and bags, as this is how it's done on cruises. Upon arrival later that morning my chairs were now down to two, my bag was missing, and I almost got into a fight. Wow! what a cruise dream! "

Just saw this in another post.  This person was all upset because it didn't work out for them.  I guess they didn't get the memo that hogging chairs is not polite and frowned upon by most cruisers.  Maybe they learned a lesson.

  10. We need another option to sort reviews.  We need to be able to sort them by 'date uploaded'.  I have been reading reviews on the Bliss which we are going on in a few weeks.  Every day or two the number of reviews increases but when I look at the list of reviews, 1/2 the time the new reviews are not there.  I believe this is sorted by 'sail date' so if someone waits a couple of weeks to do a review then it will appear down in the list.  If we could sort them by 'date uploaded' as another option then we could see the newest reviews.

  11. Some people are like that.  Years ago my dad went to Colorado on a hunting trip and loved it.  He talked about going back for years.  They both retired and I told them I was taking them to Colorado and I was going to pay for it.  I took care of everything.  The only thing they had to do was pack and be ready for me to pick them up.  They were so excited when I first told them about it and then for the two months leading up to the trip they tried everything under the sun to back out.  I would not let them and countered every excuse they had.  Long story short we went on the trip and they had a ball.  He talked about it until he passed away a few years ago and my mom still talks about it.  Some people are like that.  I am just the opposite.  🙂
