  1. We stayed in one of the aft facing ov rooms on the fantasy last October. We lived the room so much. Awesome views of the wake and easy to find your room if you've had a few too many drinks. It was very quiet back there except for one morning when the ship was backing up. The whole room shock and vibrated an insane amount for about 15 minutes. It was quite entertaining. I would book an art ov over a side facing ov for sure.

  2. I just got off the fantasy on Saturday as well. I actually really loved the ship and sailing out of Mobile was a breeze. Mikey is an amazing cruise director. All the food was great except for the breakfast buffet. I prefer the decor of the ship over the Elation and the Dream (except for The Cats lounge... it is pretty ugly). If you are prone to motion sickness I would definitely choose a bigger ship.

  3. Nice. I checked yesterday and all the elation deck plans had been taken off the site.

No Alchemy bar on the new deck plans. I know a lot of people will be disappointed at that. But since my wife and I aren't heavy drinkers, can someone explain what the excitement is about the Alchemy bar and what we will be missing when we're on the Elation next?

The alchemy bar has the best mixed drinks. They use real ingredients instead of the pre-made mixes like the other bars on the ship. The setup of the bar is great too, so it's easy to mix and mingle with other cruisers.

  4. I hate when stuff like this happens. Vacation should be stress free. I had to battle for OBC after getting on board one time..... it takes away some of the fun. I hope this gets resolved before your vacation starts. I would be flipping out and emailing John Heald and anyone else I could find. Good luck.

  5. I think with cheers, if I spend a lot of time at one bar and drink way more than the $50/per day, I should tip a little more. If I drink $100 worth of drinks per day, then the gratuity I paid with cheers comes to 7.5%. I don't mind spending an extra $20-30 over the course of a week on dollar tips here and there. I also don't blame anyone that never adds any, since that is how carnival set it up.

  6. I'm not overly concerned if I don't get my money's worth. If I spend $100 more for both of us with cheers vs without cheers, oh well. We used to get a bottle of liquor to the room and have crappy mixed drinks all week. We saved money but it wasn't as fun. Maybe my opinion will change after the next cruise with no alchemy bar.

  7. I thought it was worth it when I did it one the Triumph mainly because of the alchemy bar. Drinks were fantastic and were around $11. We liked trying different top shelf spirits and upgrading our mixed drinks to top shelf. I found that we were more adventurous with trying new drinks and not always concerned with which drink would get us the most drunk for the money. It was also nice getting specialty coffees, vitamin water, and energy drinks whenever we wanted. We're trying it again on our next cruise which does not have alchemy bar.... hopefully it's still worth it.

  8. I know it affects everyone differently, but Bonine made me extremely drowsy. I ended up sleeping a lot the first sea day. I started taking a half pill at night, and while it helped me sleep, it made it hard to wake up.

I'm going to try seabands and ginger pills on the next cruise and bring Bonine as a last resort if those don't work.
