I was able to book the tour. IDK it seemed like it perhaps didn't go through because the first time I clicked on the paypal logo because I made sure to click on the actual small VISA logo this time. :confused:

 

Like I said I'm not sure but those are the only different things I believe I did differently. Either way I'm glad it went through.

 

BTW, how old do you have to be to drink in Mexico? I'm certainly of age, but my niece is only 19...

The minimum drinking age is 18. The FAQ on the Cozumel Bar Hop website also says 18 so she should be fine. :)

I hope you are able to get this sorted out. I did the Cozumel Bar Hop in May and it was probably one of my favorite excursions ever. They were good with communication so hopefully it can be fixed! :)

We did this in May for MDQ and Burn the Floor. Told the server we had reservations for the show and were in/out in plenty of time. We also had no issues booking both that close together. Have fun! :)

Yes, it definitely is.

Um.. I didn't count or pay close enough attention but there seemed to be more than one and some cheese. It was very good.

Recently went to Cagney's, Moderno, Teppanyaki and La Cucina.

I would drop Cagney's. There wasn't really anything special about this restaurant to me.

I would put Teppanyaki on your list as I thought it was probably the best meal of the four.

Next, I would drop La Cucina but mostly because it was almost a 3 hour meal for us which was annoying. They did still have the oil/dressing for the bread on our sailing a month ago - someone above said they stopped doing that.

We got our at 11 days out. It was torture. :o

This was a really great review, and I thank you for it. I will be on the Getaway soon and I'm slightly concerned about my flight time. The fact that you were off of the ship, and at the airport, so early really makes me feel better about making my 1245 flight.

Glad to help. We had no issues and weren't worried at all about our 1:10PM flight in Fort Lauderdale. Just remember if they say 7 Forward to debark they will send you to the Tropicana Room at 7 Aft. :)

Great review. Thank you so much. We are on the Getaway in July. Our friends daughter is one of the dancer/singers. We are really looking forward to the shows. We have been on this itinerary a couple of times before so we have nothing planned. Except for Costa Maya where we will go to Maya Chan. It is a wonderful and very relaxing beach resort. It's low key and not glamorous, but the people who own it and work there are amazing and they treat you like family.

Maya Chan was a very very close second for our Costa Maya excursion but I knew I had to see the ruins at some point and I'm glad I did. I have heard such great things about Maya Chan. Our roll call ended up with a group of I think like 50 go together and they got a discount because of it. Have a great time! Thanks for reading! :)

I'll be on Getaway in a few months and I was wondering if you know if you were allowed to bring on a case of water as tagged luggage? I have the beverage package but know it doesn't include bottled water and I was allowed to luggage tag a case of water at Fort Lauderdale. Thanks!

I didn't bring a case of water. We just used the sink and a reusable water bottle.

From what I have read you can put a ship luggage tag on the case and it will be delivered. So it should be fine.

Did you happen to see if there were rowing machines in the gym?

What time did you go that it was crowded? I usually like to be up/out to the gym

on vacation no later than 8 am but usually around 7 am. Was it crowded just the first

day or the full week?

There is one rowing machine and I even used it! The chain gets a little stuck if you have it up too high though so you have to try to adjust your movement if you want to go for a long period of time.

I think it was between 8-9. It wasn't as crowded on Day 2 and then we never saw the gym again so I'm sure it gets even less crowded as the week goes on. :o

It was a family balcony room B3 category. I think it was the same size as the regular balconies. It was a good size though!

Yes, we were on local time. They do a pretty good job letting you know when to make time changes.

Definitely go see MDQ! I was blown away.

Our friends did a dune buggy tour in Cozumel. They said it was really bumpy and the buggies didn't have power steering but they had fun. A jeep will probably be better!

Too bad you weren't on the Escape. It seems as if your night before the cruise was setting you up for that ship since the Escape has partnerships with Wynwood Brewing and the Pubbelly Boys (Pawnbroker is theirs in Miami and they have Food Republic on the Escape).

Oh I didn't know all that about the Escape. The last night on Getaway I did see Wynwood Brewing on draft at O'Sheehan's and got excited since I had been there a couple days before. They only had La Rubia but it was neat to see a craft brewery on board.

Great report! My husband and I always feel like punks when we cant stay up past 1030-11pm when we cruise-we don't feel so bad now as we are twice your age :D

Before the cruise I was all about experiencing the nightlife and getting fourth meal at O'Sheehan's every night and that definitely did not happen. But I'm totally OK with that now.

Background:

My husband (26) and I (27) sailed for the first time together on NCL during this trip. He had been on NCL one time back in middle school. A couple friends joined us on this cruise and it was the first time we had another couple with us, and it was really great! We had been on three cruises together previously. This trip we were celebrating our 5th anniversary and my husband's recent MBA graduation! We booked back in August so there was lots of planning and waiting going on for those eight months.

I know you are sailing this weekend but thought I'd respond anyway.

I did the cavetubing.bz excursion from Getaway a week ago. We reserved the 8AM tender. We got to the theater around 7:45 and got right on a tender with no issues (and no scanning of the cards). It was about a 15 minutes ride to land. We had plenty of time to look around the port before meeting the tour. The way back was just as simple. Got right on a tender with no line, waited for it to fill and got back on the ship.

They are very conscious about what time you need to be back so I had no worries the entire time.

I don't think having multiple ships in port that day will affect it.

Question - it's free to use, but there's a fee if using the text feature?

Correct. Features other then text/call are free.

I found having the dailies, dining menus and ability to make reservations on there quite helpful.

Sailed Getaway last week. Our friends were in 5825 IF category and I thought it was a great size for an inside. We were all pleasantly surprised. I've sailed insides on Carnival and Royal and the floor plan and space in the Getaway inside was much better. The hallway was also huge!

Yes.. it definitely went up to $12.99 for us. I was shocked when I went to purchase it but still felt it was worth it since we were traveling with another couple.

I did not see your song - but I may have missed it. I did notice that some artists were available but then their top songs were not options.

Now THIS I can't wait to see!

The wait is over, I got my room assigned today for May 22 on the Getaway!!

We got a mid ship balcony room on Deck 14 :) BA category. I'm very happy with the location!

 

Our friends ended up in a large balcony forward deck 9. A tad jealous lol but I know we will be able to hang with them out there! Only thing that sucks is that we will be boarding at different Terminals.
