  1. 8/24 is today so hopefully you were able to go. We went last Saturday the 18th. Had a fantastic time as expected.!! Tour ran for just 6 of us. Last time we went in 2014 we were full. If anyone is contemplating please go. They now leave from Chesterfields which is a short walk from where the ship docks, rather than having to take a taxi to Simpson Bay. Highly highly recommend - again best excursion of our tour.

  2. Was just there a week ago today and went to Shipwreck. $4 cap ride pp each way and no charge once you're there. Not sure if the sale is going through or not but go there while you can in case it does. While the beach isn't that large it's black sand - how often do you see that? Prices are great - $15 for a bucket of 6 beers?? Unheard of. And the food it good too and great hot sauce if you like that. Get there early to get a good spot and see them feed the monkeys and mongoose. Highly recommend Shipwreck.

  3. You're staying at Hotel Milano before your cruise - I hope you will be there early enough to eat at their rooftop restaurant or at least have a drink. Excellent mofongo and the coconut mojito is to die for!!! Ask for hot sauce with the mofongo too - makes it even better.

  4. Just went to Boatyard last week. It was great - but make sure you get there early if you want to get on a turtle snorkel excursion. We were there with only one small ship in port and after 10:30 or so they were lined up to get in and I doubt those got on excursions. And first row chairs go quickly. Enjoy!!

  5. We'll be staying there for just one night next Saturday (8/11). I booked through Jet Blue but I had a reservation earlier that I had booked through booking dot com (Cancelled because I got a better price through Jet Blue - we have a suite and got it for just a little over $200 with fees).

What date? If you want I can ask someone when I'm there what is going on that date. Is it a holiday weekend maybe - sometimes they put minimum stays on those.

  6. On the Magic in 316 days (Southern) out of Ft. Lauderdale for my son's graduation cruise and on the Fascination departing from San Juan in 30 days. Make sure you do the Bacardi tour next time you're there. Looking forward to the rest of your review as haven't been on the Magic yet. What were you planning for St. Thomas? That's one of our ports on our cruise next month and only one haven't decided. We've been before and not one of our favs so any suggestions are welcome.

  7. Thank you for the review. Gave me a chance to relive my Dream cruises. Now I'm sad I have none planned on her or out of NOLA, nor any planned to Cozumel and Mr. Sanchos (next 2 are both Southern - gotta go support SXM recovery).

I agree with you on the Steakhouse - I will miss the creamed spinach, chocolate sampler and OMG the cheesecake!!! Next cruise is on the Fascination so no steakhouse so thinking about chef's table - thoughts anyone??:(:(:(

  8. I've been looking at QLS, do you like them? They're online reservation seems a little simpler than SAS. SAS makes you fill out a separate form for the return trip, QLS is all in one. We're staying in Ft. Lauderdale the night before, taking advantage of a hotel's park & cruise, so we need a round-trip shuttle to Miami & back.

We use QLS every time we cruise out of Miami. Almost always one of the flights is out of FLL - just works out cheaper that way. They will be calling you before you are even off the ship. Will meet you right across the medium from your ship. First recommended to me by a friend who lived in Miami for years. She uses them everytime she flies home to visit family. Do not hesitate to use WLS.

  9. We went to the Steakhouse for the first time when we had a few hundred dollars in OBC from price drops so figured why not and we were hooked!! They steaks are huge and have never had one dish that wasn't fantabulous including the bread selections. Haven't been since August and the new menu. I will miss the cheesecake which was the best I've ever eaten but I hear the new art dessert must be seen. Plus you're too full at that point to eat anyway. So yes, yes yes it's worth it.

  10. Not sure what you are looking at. I was just on the website and several hotels are open...

I meant all the Hilton hotels that are on the contract. I know there are other Hilton hotels that are open but that one in particular shows as sold out as do the others. I was using the Hilton Honors app.

  11. But here's a question for a Carnival "expert". Will they let him/her back on with the wine? Generally if you bring on in port they keep it for the duration of the cruise. How do they know you didn't already bring some on when you first boarded - I'm thinking the wine (and soda 12 packs as well) would need to be taken on when boarding.

  12. We've been on the Dream twice so far and will be the third this summer. Carnival does have wings available on the room service menu for a charge. I've never had them but what it now does have is Guy's burgers which is fabulous. And the 24 hour pizza is good and that's coming from a New Yorker lol :D As for the Cheers package depends on how much you drink if it's worth it. You can get 15 alcoholic drinks per day plus unlimited soda and specialty coffees. Beers are like $5, most drinks like pina coladas are $9. The good thing about Cheers is because you can, you try different things and don;t feel you have to finish it if you don't like it. NOLA is great - stay a few days before if you can - and make sure you're on deck sailing down the Mississippi - hopefully we'll see you on board - we're on the 8/13 sailing.

  13. Hi everyone - a few responses:

Montego Bay - there is a hop-on-hop-off bus you can buy a ticket to with your sail and sign card. Not sure how much but less than 20 pp. One of the stops is Doctors Cave - it's right near Margaritaville too. We did zip line - what a blast!!!

Carl - as far as an aft balcony on deck 9. We had one on the breeze which is basically the same ship. Don't!! While the balcony is good size and the overhang keeps you dry there is no air. It is so hot out there that you can't enjoy it during the day. And you can smell the food from upstairs out there. But the worst is early every morning and every night when they are putting away/taking out the deck chairs - scrape/scrape!!!!

Hope this helps some of you. Looking forward to our third cruise on the Dream this August.

  14. I know you're on another cruise right now(jelly) but thought I'd give an update as we were on a more recent cruise (12/1). The Mexican buffet was on that cruise on our Cozumel night. And it was also on our Dream cruise last summer - probably also on Cozumel night. Maybe they only do them on cruises that go to Mexico? And we also had the American table menus.

I agree with you about the negative comments about the Sensation. Not sure where they come from and they certainly aren't warranted. Service was always top notch. We too have never been on a Fantasy class or a short cruise and were pleasantly surprised. Great for a short get away.
