  1. This was by far one of our favorite ports. If you have a chance look up Happy Fish Travel.

The tour we took was Rio Dulce Canyon/ Ak Tenamit/ Livingston...OMG so much fun. We paid $50 and included lunch.

We will do it again in a heartbeat when we cruise with Oceania in Dec.

    where else are you going???

I was told this was a tender port, is that true or do they dock? thanks in advance

  2. Do you need to tip when handing the luggage over to be checked (ie, to the porters at curbside)?

not required but I think it is just common curtesy as a thank you. If you can't afford to tip those who provide a service for you, then you shouldn't be traveling.

  3. I think NCL automatically activated our sailing as we were supposedly the first group to be offered the "bonus" Lifestyle credit. I never registered with the site because I didn't receive an email; but I did receive a survey today to fill out which I thought was odd. I went onto the site, entered my email, and clicked on lost password and received an email. (Your user name is your email address on file with NCL and the password is probably norwegian). The activation date was 11/25/13; the date we docked back in NY.

where did you find the site? I haven't been able to find it. I also got an email survey asking why I hadn't used it yet, but never received an email about having it.

  4. I seen this our POM website and thought that was great. Question though do u have to park in a handicap spot or can you park in any spot. Hubby does have a plaque so we don't have a problem there, but was just wondering if they have alot of handicap spots or you can park anywhere with your plaque.

you can park anywhere with it. daughter parked in the covered parking right across from the entrance after dropping me off at the door.

  5. we just went on a cruise and used the handicap deal but make sure you have the doctor paper with you not just sign:)

I didn't have to, actually my daughter picked up the car went through the line with the sign, my drivers license, the registration for the sign, my cruise pass and me standing on the curb waving to the guy in the toll booth. nothing at all regarding a doctors note. the site itself doesn't even mention one..

    Parking for Disabled Persons

Disabled parking at PortMiami is free. However, in order to waive parking fees, appropriate documentation must be provided to the Toll Attendant upon exiting the parking facility.

    Required documentation

State Issued Driver's License/I.D. Card or U.S. Passport

Original Parking Sales Receipt/Parking Ticket Stub (No Copies)

Authentic Disability Placard/Permanent Disability License Plate

Proof of Sailing (Sailing Card or Original Purchased Ticket Issued from the Cruise Line)

Letter/Card from Department of Motor Vehicles signifying to whom the Disability Placard is assigned (Applies to states that do not have a driver's license number on placard)

  6. If anyone cruising in your party has a handicap plaque, plate or permit, Port of Miami waives all parking fees when presented at the payment booth with proof of sailing and photo id. It isn't something advertised and if you don't know it they aren't going to tell you about it. But let me tell you it was nice knowing when we got back from out 14 day cruise there were no fees to pay to get the car out :)

  7. for those of you with severe arthritic pain, here in the US many doctors give out Volteran. A 20 gram tube here in the states at the pharmacy runs $44 after insurance. With no insurance coverage it is in the $75 range. In Cozumel and in Belieze you can get it under the name Volfanac. Same active ingredient. same dosage. A 3 oz tube is $7.00!! Anyone who uses this knows it is close to a gift from the Gods! I stock up when I hit those ports.
