  1. We're on the same cruise but have a Silver Spirit from Athens cruise first (May 2nd) done the maiden voyage on the Moon and it was fabulous. These guys are correct with champagne, Wife loves their Rose Prosecco

  2. We got our cruise tickets today (not that you need them) in these times, its normal for SS to send tickets about two weeks before embarkation, believe this is mainly due to cancelations/changes. We've booked our own flights and Hotel for this one so cant comment on airline tickets

  3. I was informed by our hotel, the sister hotel to Grande Bretagne, (situated next door and sharing facilities) that testing will be available. Also I believe testing will also be available at the cruise terminal, but this may delay you in boarding. See you on board

  4. Hi Eric, Dont know why, but SS often leave things late for e tickets etc (Possibly to do with changes and cancelations due to Covid) Your GTY booking is likely to get up graded to superior or delux veranda, all veranda cabins  are all exactly the same, with the location/floor on the ship being the only change. WE are flying BA but flight times are terrible, arrive late Saturday, regarding Covid Test, I believe Hotel will have this facility (will have that confirmed shortly) The SS Hotel and King George share facilities. Have you checked MYSilversea for restaurant/excursion booking etc also Face book have a great Silversea forum

  5. Hi we are on the same cruise, (We're also from Scotland) we sailed on the Spirit in January and the Moon last June from Athens, e tickets will be posted on My Silversea around 1/2 weeks before boarding, believe it or not, you don't actually need them, passport suffices for flights and was never asked for cruise tickets, we booked late (Cruise to Japan was cancelled) so booked our own flights and hotel, (we're staying at the King George, next door to the SS Hotel, and we arrive two days early (Late on the Saturday) One thing you should have is your cabin number, did you book a specific cabin or just guarantee (GTY i think) any questions, come back to me

PS , We're Fifers, where are you from?

    Throast,

Please can you find the time to post about your Spirit sailing?

(Perhaps on the Spirit Status thread? Please, please.)

I am booked on the Jan 14th sailing and must decide very soon whether I am going to risk it - not so much getting ill but the hassle of getting stuck somewhere with a positive test or a close contact.

With Florida having a high case count, and the real hassle of getting a Travel Authorisation to travel back home to Bermuda, I don't want to even leave the island if the cruise isn't going ahead - I travel down a few days before (given our poor airlift) so the decision is looming. If the ship is sailing and there isn't too much onboard disruption of normal service, I'll risk the journey - I really want to go! But ...

    Will do

  8. We were on the inaugral cruise on the Moon, after much checking and follow up, we insured through Staysure, we had add ons for both cruising and Amber countries, they confirmed in writing that we were covered for both, with the exception of Covid related incidents,

I also confirmed with Silversea that anything Covid related was covered by them, including repatriation if required.

Thanks for that information.......there is no place to make a booking for the Lab on line. I am guessing they realize that🙂......I will be asking about it once I get on the ship😃

Hi, I believe it will be on board booking, ( I got the impression they would accommodate everyone, presumably by increasing cooking events if required)

Stumble, to be very clear, the prices I was quoting are for the SALT excursions only, they were listed in the “ashore” section of My Activities in the My Silversea app.

I have no clue if there will be cooking classes aboard in the SALT lab which involve cost. I hope not.

At present the SALT lab restaurant has been touted as included in the cost of the cruise without added fee.

Once aboard we can report what we learn.

And as for the land yacht, do you plan on bringing it aboard in the future as freight?

    😉

A recent face book interaction with one of the folks in charge of SALT made it clear that their is no charge for cooking lessons in the SALT Lab, but they will have to take bookings, (Due to restricted numbers) they also mentioned for us folks not wanting to do the SALT LAB bit, (I couldn't boil an egg!!) their would be lectures ect in the theatre that included tasters, wine etc. Hope this Helps, We leave from Scotland on Thursday, Hope to see you all on board

Thank you for the info. How and when exactly did you identify yourself as a KEY? Do you tell an agent before check in and then they look it up to confirm?  Is there an indicator at that time to show that you are a confirmed key?   Any indicator on your room card?  Thank you !!

Hi Sandystx, when we arrived at port, we stood in the general line for about 30 secs, mentioned to one of the lady stewards we were key, immediately escorted forward to a separate desk. Once you get your sea pass, there is a key in the bottom right of the card.

We bought the key for our upcoming Oasis cruise in April. I was able to check in today and did so to see if my set sail pass  reflected it anywhere and it did not.  Wouldn’t it need to, to do a separate check in? Mainly asking because we did a Junior Suite on our last cruise and when I asked about which line to stand in, I was told unless my set sail pass had something different printed on it, I was told to go to the regular line. It was fine and quick but wondering how they are going to now we purchased the key.

It’s not long since key was introduced, when you get to port identify yourselves as key, they will take care of it from there, for us, it was worth every penny and more

  13. Apologies, seems only the start of my review has appeared,

    to continue,

On arrival at the port, we identified our selves as key and were immediately led to a separate check in desk, (No queue) then onto a separate seating area, we were called for boarding very early, on boarding we dropped our hand luggage off at the opal theatre, ( it’s then deposited directly into your cabin), then headed out for a wonder, just before noon we went to Chops and had a great lunch, forgot to mention we were given our access codes for the internet at check in. Cabin we’re called ready at 1pm for all guests.

There was no need to book shows (except comedy) as you have reserve seating and just walk in, again no queuing.

Flow rider and zip lining also had reserved times, one hour a day, (it wasn’t closed to other guest you just got to skip the line).

on the last day a breakfast is included, again no lines and fast service, you can get off the ship anytime you want, there was a massive queue to disembark, we identified ourselves as key, escorted to the front of the queue, our luggage awaited us in a separate area.

We also signed up for the ultimate dining package and drinks package, both again, to us worth every penny. We were in a balcony cabin.

the early disembarkation at ports wasn’t tested due to the novo virus caper, as an aside, we felt Royal Caribbean and the crew could not do more in the circumstances

  14. We came of the Oasis last Friday (a day early) and having signed up for key , can confirm our thoughts are it was worth every penny and more.

We are regulars with silver sea, but booked this cruise as an investigation for taking family including 9 grand children on vacation for my 60th in 2020.

We paid £19.99 per day (two of us) of more than 6,000 guest there was only 47 signed up for key (maximum at present 100 per cruise)

  15. Visited San Juan today, we did the Bacardi trip, first thoughts were "what a rip off" we had the same tour as everyone else paying maybe a tenth of the price, but it turned out someone had erred, we should have been on a separate tour that included a rum tasting and mixology class, we eventually got the mixology bit, and it was very good, BUT we missed half the tour, ie the tasting,no apology no explanation, So result, we are now hesitant in booking further Silver Spirit excursions.

That's the big neg done, we dined at "le Champagne" tonight, it was excellent, every bit as good as on the Spirit. Great service, outstanding wines and fabulous food, absolutely no complaints.

Rachelle , our butler(ess) we hardly see, but every request is completed, THE perfect butler, not intrusive but gets everything done, I thought we had great butlers previously on SS but Rachelle is a step beyond.

Service in general has been good, looking for negs, one thing I would say is seating in the main bar, there is seating for 60 maybe 70 and every night guest are left standing , no tables, yet there is space for a least half a dozen more tables.

Moans over for now, rest assured service in general has been excellent , over and out for now.
