Assuming you flew into BWI? Two quick questions:

    1. How was it getting from BWI to this hotel? Did you take an Uber or otherwise? Is there a hotel shuttle to the airport?

    2. How was the process/timeliness of the hotel shuttle to the cruise terminal/port?

  2. I looked at a map and the straw market doesn't look that far. Maybe take the bus to Arawak Cay and then go through the Straw Market after for a little shopping

  3. We are coming in on Carnival Vista into Port St. Maarten and we want to go to Sunset Bar and Grill: Maho Beach, but I'm a little confused.

Can we pick up a water taxi from this port? Where will it take us to? Then taxi from there to Maho Beach?

Current pricing would be great - there are three of us.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Few questions.

What is the difference in location between the large cabanas and the small cabanas? The large ones appear to be more private but just curious if that means more walking.

It states that the small cabana is for 6 people and the large is for 8, $25 for each additional person. Do they really monitor them? Most in our group will be in and out so how are they to tell. Are we allowed "visitors"?

It states there is a food credit. So can I assume no food or drink comes with the cabana? Can we bring our own drinks off the ship? How far is it for food? Do they have waiters in the area or a bar? Can we use the UBP?

  6. I know it's asking a lot - after all Cozumel is an island with limitations - but we have been here several times. Done the bar hop, beach, snorkel, shopping, dolphins and even a cooking class. What is there to do that's different? Was thinking zip line but from everything I've read it's not anything special since it's all flat (we've zip lined in Hawaii and Belize so would probably be disappointed). Short of just staying on the ship just not sure what to do. There are three of us - 2 active 53 year olds and our son who is 24. He is autistic but adventurous as long as it doesn't involve flying things (like bugs, birds or butterflies). He doesn't like anything that comes at him quickly.

    HELP!!

  7. Most recent news article I read said Carnival is giving $200 OBC and 50% off next cruise to everyone. It states - because they couldn't get off in Cozumel. Normally that's $25 credit if your lucky (due to weather). Pretty good of Carnival for something that wasn't their fault. Although they will probably file an insurance claim to cover it. Here's a link to the article - http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Health-Care-Worker-Who-May-Have-Had-Contact-With-Ebola-Is-on-Cruise-Ship-279537152.html?_osource=SocialFlowFB_DFWBrand

How would you feel if they (the couple) were your table mates?? I know they aren't showing signs but it would still scare the daylights out of me.

  8. Just wondering if those who have sailed recently on Magic if the ship docks with the Port or Starboard side against the pier?

I am looking at a cove balcony and would prefer to be on the water side when docked. Last time we went out of Galveston (Triumph) we didn't get a balcony and had to watch the "doping show" from the upper decks.

Please include your sail date in case people are posting different responses. That way I can tell which are the most current.

  9. We have done the rent for a week and park in the cheaper lots. It was very convenient. The tricky part is finding a good weekly rate. It works well the more people you have because the shuttle can be pricey.

Another option we used was Super Shuttle. They are cheaper than the cruiseline if you have more than 2 people.

  10. We were on NCL in Hawaii in February and the cruise before us was bad. They also sanitized the ship before we got on and they MADE everyone who entered the food area to use hand sanitizer. Didn't hear of anyone sick so it is actually a good thing they are sanitizing before we get on (I'm on the cruise tomorrow).

They had the buffets and the area were the rolls and pastries are located wrapped in saran wrap - so you had to ask the staff for the item you wanted. Funniest thing I saw is this older lady at breakfast wanted a pastry so she stuck her hand through the plastic wrap, grab the pastry with her hand and walked away. Two crew members saw her do it. The one instructed the man behind the counter to remove the entire tray as they weren't sure how many of them she touched before she decided on the one she wanted. I guess the plastic wrap meant nothing to her.
